I was looking for an engagement ring for my fiancé and I knew I didn’t want to shop chain, so of course I did what most people in the Birmingham area do, and that’s go to diamond direct. They didn’t have the exact ring I was looking for but they had something close. Them my dad told me to hold on before I bought it and he would talk to Robbie who he use to work with and within the next week Robbie had multiple different stones and bands to choose from. Within that week I had found, had it set and sized, and bought. Instead of waiting up to 8 weeks on diamonds direct and the craziest thing, for a higher quality, clarity, and carrot stone Alan & Co was cheaper!! I will always use them from now on and I will also send all my recommendations to this jewelry store!

Took them my fathers ring and spare gold to br melted down into new ring so that I could have his ring with me at all time. It was a 10k ring +19.8 grams of 14k scrap gold. When they gave me a price it was all my material plus 300-400dollars. I told them that the price seemed a little steep and that I figuredball of the extra gold would off set most of the cost. The sales man said that he would have the jeweler look at it and give me a call with their final price. Well no call came, after about 4 days I call back to find out what the estimate is going to be and they tell me they have already melted my gold that the price will still be about the same.... who does that... also I had called around and average price would b the material plus 200 but that there should be a bunch of material left over which should completly eat the cost... Hopefully they finally have it done this week because as soon as I pay, an attorney is getting involved.*update**go to their facebook reviews to see the picture I posted of the paper estimate I received from them*Here is what I received from them the day I dropped off my jewellery. Notice at the bottom right there is no number, it only states the word estimate That is because the estimate he had given me was too high and I said I would not be able to do that. To which he responded that the jeweler/owner might be able to get the price down but that he would have to see it for him self. I left thinking that I was going to receive a call with a finalized estimate, as stated in the picture, for the work and if he could get the price down enough I would have him begin working on the jewelery. The next time I talked to them I was told that the jewelery has already been destroyed, and that i owe the original amount that I did not agree upon (400$). They did agree to lower the price to 300$ because of the miscommunication, but they were very off put when I stated that the fair price is 200$ because they did not have any authorization to destroy my jewelery and that the shop I was going to go to, if their estimate did not come down significantly, claimed that he could do it for 200$. They asked me to come to the store if I wanted to discuss it further, so they next day I went to the store. We finally agreed after a long, loud arguement, infront of their store, where they called me a liar, attempted to make the situation seem like it was my fault, and threatened to sue me for my first comment, that 200$ would be exchanged for the ring. I sold them the remaining gold bangle for 130$ They forgot to engrave the ring. So they took off the 35$ charge for engraving, and I paid them 35$ with a debit card. With that I received no receipt for having received the ring, no receipt for selling them the bangle for 130$. I did receive a receipt for the 35$ I paid with a debit card, but that is all I received. He also did not karat mark the ring, so who knows what percentage my ring actually is. This whole situation was a nightmare, and I would advise no one to ever do business with this company, especially not if it involves them having access something that is important to you.

1st Visit!!! We called, Dominique said yes they replace batteries and we pulled up!! It took all of maybe 7 mins to replace both batteries in our MK watches!! This location is family owned, theyre super friendly so professional and the different jewelry pieces they have are very nice and the prices arent extreme well def be back to get me an initial necklace! LOVE Alan & Co.! He sized my beautiful amethyst I bought from him and I have never seen such perfect work! I always enjoy my visit there with Carolyn and Mr. Alan and too often get into trouble with them, buying something I just HAD to have! They are wonderful!!

I came in to get a clasp fixed. This place was great and very quick. As a walk-in, I was in and out in a few minutes. I know what I was asking was not a huge fix but they were a lot quicker than I could ever have imagined it to be and they did it with a smile! Now the clasp works better than it has ever been. After having given up on finding a watch repair shop, I happened to stop in to Alan & Co to see about a simple battery replacement for a Luminox watch. No problem. In and out in 5 mins. Very friendly folks. Ill be back soon to get my wife some jewelry.
