Beware! Avoid. Costly mistake.Disappointed. Wanted to support local business, unfortunately staff are complete voids (lack of proper training) and only help find necessities begrudgingly. Multiple attempts, (opportunities) customer service never showed up.For one project, we made a $600 order to start, $150 of that was their delivery charge. Notes on invoice stated to contact me (the customer) for delivery. The building supplies need to be dropped at a certain spot on the property. Instead the 1 ton delivery was left in the drive-way,100 yards from where it needs to be. When I called for customer support asking when they could make good on my purchase, they (basically) said, we tried to call you, we have proof and hung up.I spoke with 2 managers/owners and they both felt this way, stating. We do not have 1 million dollars in business by not satisfying customers.They never made good on the purchase with proper delivery. I will now have to pay a guy another $150 to have the supplies, properly delivered to the correct area.It was made clear, smaller customers are not of interest to this company. The lack of professionalism or customer care has been astounding.If they understood good business practice, they would know small customers can become BIG customers. I usually work in LA and London, was totally excited to build something in my hometown. Im really disappointed in OC building supply and their business practices, but grateful. Now we know who Not to do business with.To find items with knowledgeable, supportive staff go to Ace Hardware. For building supplies go to McCoys Building Supply. Dont make the same mistake I did thinking you were supporting a business that cares for the people of the community. It was made clear by their own management team, Orange County building Supply does not care about business from the little guy.Best, M

Great people but, got 140 6 X 6 pine treated fence pickets. They are terrible. Broken, bad edges, split, twisted. Will not purchase pickets there again. My fence customer is not at all pleased. Sorry guys, yall failed me today.

Every time I go there recently, a young man named Richard helps me from behind the register. Actually, after the first interaction with him I started to request him as my salesman. He really knows his stuff and can answer every question I throw at him.I am a contractor and he has helped me work through some rather difficult problems with modernizing older homes, from electrical to plumbing to crown moulding to types of nails.The lumber yard workers are quick and knowledgeable yet pretty laid back with conversation and temperament.The prices are better than anything else in town, in fact it wouldnt be a stretch to say they always Ace© the competition.

Waited forever for someone to load is in the yard.... finally just went back and loaded it ourself....only one truck ahead of us in the yard and 5 behind us. There is usually better service.

Typically have what you need here for the most part. Would recommend going here if you cant make it to Beaumont to go to Lowes or Home Depot. Prices are somewhat comparable, but if I was to guess they are a little pricier than the other big-chain stores. Usually dont get asked if I need help finding anything, but then again most lumber supply stores arent fantastic with their customer service.

My boss gave me a list of stuff that he needed to repair some rent houses. I kinda knew what the stuff was but it would have taken me an hour or more to figure it out and find it. A young man named Taylor helped me right away by taking my list, grabbing a buggy, and with me following him he grabbed everything I needed. I was checked out in ten minutes. Hands down the best customer services I have received in a long time. This is the kinda of employee that deserves praise.

So far.... they have delayed progress to our project by delivering the wrong siding as well as delaying delivery on trim....our contractor has been trying for weeks to wrap up the job and we are constantly facing delays from these guys.

Most of the time they are pretty good. But on 6/7/2018 I had a bad experience there and probably wont be back for awhile. I bought a fireplace in Dec from them and was ordering the insert panels about a month ago. Well they came in and I got them home ready to put in and they were the wrong color. Red and should have been white. So I returned them the next day which was the Friday before Memorial Day. They lady said she couldnt reorder them until next week because of the holiday. I told her ok I would check around and see if I could find them somewhere else. Really could find them and didnt have time to search everywhere for them. So I went back today to reorder them. Amy which helped me the first time says I was suppose to charge you $100 shipping the first time but didnt. So I will have to do that this time. I was pissed and said never mind. As I left I was still pissed for one you are going to sale something and not have the other pieces available for purchases in the store. Then you are going to tell me its $100 plus for shipping. When I left I called to talk to a manager because I was still pissed. 20 min on hold so I hung up. Great customer service OCBM. Ill just drive a little more and spend my money in another town.

If I could give no stars that would be more accurate. Went up to order something that I have ordered from there in the past...talk to (no name) and he took my name and number and told me he would call me back. Of course, they never did. I called back every other day for over two weeks and was given the same story and never a return call. Today I called and actually sounded a bit aggravated (I was trying to be nice until today) and sounded like they were going to get my stuff ordered only to put a kid on the line to give me a phone number of another place his boss told me to call!?!?! I even had to stop him because he was so quick to get me off the phone to take the number of this other place....its one thing to tell me you dont have something...its another to tell me I might have to wait....but to make me wait for over two weeks and then to be brushed aside is HORRIBLE. Hopefully the owners will see this and hopefully figure something out because I would love this place otherwise :/

Hate giving bad reviews but, after myself and my wife have visited more than several times in our efforts to rebuild from Harvey, weve both called it quits here. The prices are better than Home Depot, Lowes, or even Ace Hardware up 105 but the people who work there, it seems like theres not enough of them or theyre not interested in helping you or, as is my case with loading up lumber, told me that I was in the way of a customer who had driven up after me then gave me forget vague instructions about where to drive to actually get my lumber.I think if youre a contractor youll be ok here but Ill spend more money to get better service as a regular consumer.

This is a lumber yard; Although they do carry hardware. I have read a few posts from a few Dummies ! 1 stated that he ordered a 4x4 post and ended up with a 2x4 post (And blamed it on them ?......Hey Dummy; A 2x4 is not a post) ! You should have looked (The guys in the back are there to help to the best of their capabilities at $7.25 per hour) ! To the other Dummy that argued with Mr. Jerry about framing material..... ! Jerry was trying to explain to you that fir is more impervious to water and tends to hold straighter than SYP for framing; Although SYP does have more tensile strength ! The only thing that Jerry and I dont agree on is James Hardie products; It is JUNK ! OCBM has the best prices on lumber......Period ! Their #2 lumber is better than Lowes Top Shelf lumber! They are not a cheap hardware store ! If you want a cheap faucet or a cheap door knob; Go to Walmart and buy a piece of China ! Lowes and HD are a joke ! Do some home work and walk the yard at OCBM.... Learn where the items you are looking for are located and load it yourself.....Just like you would at Lowes or HD ! It would save the contractors a lot of time if you make a list Check it twice and get the HELL out of the way ! Also for the Newbies .... If you want to paint with water; Buy it from Walmart or add some food coloring to your tap water. It equates to about the same. OCBM has great paint and does a very good job at matching paint for the ones that dont keep their paint codes !

Service is ridiculous at the Vidor Store. I have gone by and left messages and called, but I can never get a call back. I built my house with materials from OCBM. You would think I could at least get a call back. I tried calling again today and was on hold for 15 min. I finally just hung up. Im headed to Lowes instead!

He claims fir boards are stronger than yellowpine #2......hes wrong and just plain out unprofessional. He also said every home builder and framer in SETX that use yellow pine #2 is wrong and uneducated. Then why would the city require you to build with Yellow pine #2 Jerry? Effing idiot!!!!

Buy a 4×4 post. Get a 2×4 post. And the guy that checks the tickets and makes sure you got the right amount and right product, doesnt even do his job and make sure I had the right thing. Maybe you should hire people that actually do the job right. That was a little mess up, imagine how much money and time your employees are wasting.
