Always helpful, friendly. Pretty well stocked. Good to have someplace nearby to service gear.
I am AOW certified and am serious enough about diving to do it 1-2 times a year. I went to the store with only a mild interest in buying a dive computer and a dry bag. After some conversation with Melissa, I was compelled to buy my own gear (BCD. regulator, dive computer, mask, fins, etc.). As someone who has been diving for only 4 years, it can be easy to be overwhelmed by this. Melissa is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She was able to explain all the equipment down to the materials. She custom fit me right there for a BCD. Im sure once I get to use all the new gear, it will make a WORLD of difference over rentals. Even trying on a wetsuit and masks had me convinced I was making the right choice. Of course, diving isnt a cheap hobby, but if you plan on doing it regularly in the years to come, it was absolutely worth visiting this shop. Diving gear is all about safety, and Melissa only stocks the best quality brands. I feel 100% confident in the items we purchased.
The shop moved to a new location and it is very nice with plenty of parking. The staff (especially Melissa and Jason) was very patient with me and helped make my decisions for purchases very simple. Even when I was out on my trip, I called to ask a question about the equipment and received very specific instructions on how to remove the excess water from the BCD!
Melissa and Jason are great. I completed a PADI refresher and Advanced Open Water course and both of my sons completed training through Nautilus Aquatics. We just returned from an amazing dive trip to Mexico with Jason. We rented gear and Jason was on the boat with us every day. I highly recommend them for dive training and travel.
Nothing but positive things to say about Nautilus! I did my PADI OW certification here and had a fantastic experience. Jason, my instructor, was very patient and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable throughout the entire certification process.Along with a great experience with my OW certification, I have always had positive interactions with the staff in the store. When I went to buy myself personal gear the employees were friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure I was in properly fitting gear and went out of their way to order certain colors. Overall I have had a spectacular experience with Nautilus Aquatics!
I chose Nautilus for my PADI Open Water Diver course. Classes are well-organized, conducive to learning and easy-to-follow. The tour (West Palm Beach) they had for open water sessions is fun and of good value. The instructor (Jerry) is fantastic and very helpful. A great experience overall.
Took my BCD and Regulator in for maintenance two weeks prior to a dive trip - Many issues with nautilus aquatics’ service:- took 30 mins for them enter info on my BCD and regulator set before they could issue me a service agreement- was told they would have to “rush” it and charge me for the $65 for rush service, but that they weren’t sure they could get the parts in time because they don’t routinely work on cressi gear and they would have the tech call me- tech called several days later and said they couldn’t make my timeline but they could have parts in to complete a repair in three weeks - I said ok (I’d outfit my trip another way)- never got a call to say the repair was complete or there was any issue, so I called twice during their advertised business hours and got voice mail indicating I was calling after hours - I left two messages to call me- never got a call back- called a third time 5 weeks after I dropped off my equipment and finally got someone - they looked up my order and said there was no work done since the parts were on back order and didn’t know when they could get parts - so I picked up my gear- then I contacted cressi directly and found I could get the service parts in 1 weekBottomline is horrible customer service
Nautilus Aquatics is now my go-to dive shop in the DC area. I recently moved back to the area from overseas and initially tried a couple of local dive shops that were a bit closer to me. That was a mistake. Nautilus Aquatics is worth the drive. It should be fun to go to a dive shop, and Nautilus Aquatics is fun! The staff are nice, knowledgeable, and fun to have a chat with. The tropical music playing in the background is a nice touch as well. We all want a bit of escape from the sometimes dreary DC weather, and Nautilus provides that!More specifically, I had equipment serviced by a different dive shop in the area. After the service, a computer ended up flooding during a pool check. Nautilus was able to bring that computer back to life with distilled water and TLC. They did all of that while charging me only for a battery change. The restored computer performed flawlessly on a weeklong liveaboard vacation in Belize. (Thank you!)All of the items that Ive had serviced has been finished earlier than promised at the agreed upon price.Go Nautilus!
Nautilus is great. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. All instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. You can feel confident taking your certifications with them whether it be OW or instructor level. Great selection on gear and someone is always there to explain any questions you have.
I completed a Discovery Scuba class with Nautilus as a way to try scuba for the first time. From meeting at the shop to get fitted for my gear to climbing out of the pool at the end of the class, I had such a great time thanks to the incredible staff.I was very nervous about all the gear. I thought I wouldnt be able to swim well with all that stuff on, and I actually had this idea in my head that if I messed something up, then my oxygen tank would explode! But the instructors made me feel comfortable and safe, and I learned a lot about the basics of scuba.Ive already scheduled my training to get my full certification, and Im going on a dive trip to Mexico with Nautilus in a few months!Im very excited to go on some scuba adventures and to dive with the crew at this shop!
Jason the owner is extremely knowledgeable and put us at ease for our first foray into equipment purchasing...no pressure and great array of gear...shipped me my gear within a day or twoWe live in Gaithersburg and have now traveled twice to Vienna to try stuff on and get his input....his team is responsive and attentive. Well done
Awesome dive shop! Got my Open Water Certification, have bought most of my equipment, and recently went on trip to Florida through them. They have a great staff in the store that is very helpful and knowledgeable, terrific instructors, and their trip leader made the travel and Florida experience a lot of fun. The best and most important thing for me is that they are not a big box store or just a website. It is a great group of people that apperciate my business and make me feel at home.
Friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good selection of gear for a non-diving location. They have a monthly dive trip to many different locations!
I stopped in for service on my outdated gear, to replace some gear and to get a new wetsuit. The staff dedicated plenty of time to finding me the right gear for what they had in stock, unfortunately they didnt have a wetsuit that fit well - rather than trying to sell me something Id be unhappy with they recommended I check out another brand they didnt carry which did fit (very knowledgable staff). They took time to explain the service that needed to be done, were prompt to let me know it was done and were very helpful when I needed to exchange my mask that pinched my forehead under pressure. I highly recommend them for gear sales and service. The service was perfect btw, no problems on the dives.
The young man working there named Eric helped me out a lot. Would recommend!
ASC is definately the best dive shop in Northern Virginia. I actually drive past two dive shops to go out to ASC and its well worth it! I have been going to ASC for about 3 years now and its the best dive shop Ive ever been associated with. If you go to ASC you will quickly realized their staff is the best qualified in the area and provide the highest quality of training possible. In addition to providing excellent training, they will work with you to find the right equipment for the type of diving you want - they have a great variety of gear and genuinely work hard to get you a great deal and quality equipment that will last. For me, ASC is much more than just a dive shop, theyre friends. I absolutely would 100% recommend ASC for anyone getting certified or experienced divers looking to increase their skills. If youre looking for a dive shop, definately put ASC at the top of your list - you will be glad you did!!!
Got my LP Steel 74 tank filled here for $8. They even overfilled it so when it cooled it was spot on 2250 PSI (Exactly what it is rated for). They also filled my pony bottle for free. I surfed around their store and their prices were alright for an in person store...but cannot compete with the web. I will likely be filling tanks here again because I am tired of the short-fills I keep getting elsewhere.
Good spot in Vienna
Today i Drove to this Shop -- Nothing !!!!!! Nobody is thereTHANK YOU FOR NOTHING !!!!!!
