I received a used true oriental rug from a friend. It had numerous stains and overall needed a good cleaning. I contracted with Oriental Rug Weavers to do the job for me. .They came and got the rug from my friends apartment . and took it back to their store .I had numerous talks with the owner who explained what would be done and how. The rug when returned was beautiful. The 11x12 rug fit my dining area perfectly. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny. I highly recommend them to anyone, especially if they have a true hand woven carpet. They know their business.

I am so glad I selected Oriental Rug Weavers to clean and repair my rugs (about 12 of them)! I visited a few other stores to decide where to entrust my rugs; when I met Faisal, the proprietor, I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism so selected Oriental Rug Weavers to do the work. The cleaning was done with care and the rugs looked great. We then examined each rug needing repair and discussed exactly what should be done to each. The results were remarkable. We have used Oriental Rug Weavers for several jobs since Feb 2018. We started with 2 rugs - one high quality and a second a cheaper factory made rug. Faisal the owner was able to tell us a good deal about both rugs but especially the quality rug as that is what he carries. He looked closely at the rugs and showed us a couple of items that we hadnt seen and explained in detail what he would do to each if we wanted them repaired. we had them repaired and cleaned. The work was done so well we couldnt tell where they had done the repair. the cleaning was so effective the rugs looked new - my wife and I could tell they took care and did it right. They were so good we then brought two other rugs of higher value and both again were handled with great care and exceptional quality work done on them. At this point we started talking to him about a new rug that I had been looking for - explained what I wanted. He said they were hard to find but he would keep his eye out. About 6 weeks later he calls and says he has 2 rugs I might want to see. One was just what we had been looking for and I felt the price was fair. Once we agreed to a price he had the rugs cleaned and the fringe repaired. The rug looked just outstanding when we picked it up. Couldnt recommend him any higher. Faisal is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and has a passion for what he does. I am a repeat customer because I trust him with my family heirlooms. His cleaning process is high quality and impeccable. The hand fringing is beautifully done. Faisal will teach you about the quality, region, and pattern of your particular rug and he treats it as if it were his own. His personal evaluations are quite fascinating. Great pride is taken in his workmanship, but he will not necessarily take the most expensive route if it doesnt make sense. I have found his pricing to be fair and reasonable (after doing some price comparisons), especially considering the cleaning and fringing are hand done. Because he is busy, I do recommend you make an appointment to get the personalized attention he is so good at. Faisal provides a hard to find service above others in terms of quality and craftsmanship.

Faisal does great work. We had dog chewing damage on an Indian rug that we figure is in the $5000 range. He and his team basically deconstructed and re-weaved the torn areas by hand and re-dyed to match the pattern. His goal was 60% restored - we think he was in the 90s. If we ever have another rug issue, they have our business. they worked to give us the best price and did so. We had a large guest dog chew a corner and edge. right now I cant tell which one was fixed. actually Im not sure he ever did tell me. I may have to get out a jewelers eyeglass to figure it out. Yeah it was that good. The cleaning was like wow. I feel like I paid for a brand new rug for a small cleaning and repair price. He is not cheap, cheap as another reviewer wrote: this isnt the place to take your home depot remnant, but if you have a nice rug, this is the place. They will tell you is the repair is more than the value of the piece itself, of course they are working on some century old family heirlooms that represent more than simply a floor covering. You must ask the owner to show you some of the really hard projects they are working on. its something between craft and actual artistry. Quite amazing. Honest, reliable, not over priced, very solid work, trustworthy workmanship for even the antique pieces.

The service I received at Oriental Rug Weavers was outstanding. I originally took in several carpets for appraisals prior to including them in a shipment when relocating. Two of the carpets had not been cleaned in several decades and had some condition issues. These two carpets were sent out for cleaning, but due to unforeseeable circumstances, were not ready in time to be included with the rest of my shipment. How Faisal handled the situation has made me a customer for life. Faisal called as soon as he knew there was a problem, told me how he was going to address it, and then went above and beyond expectations I had. After one of my favorite carpets I bought overseas was damaged from a flood, I looked around a little bit and finally took it over and showed it to Faisal. He was able to tell me a little bit more about the material the carpet was made out of, appraise it for insurance purposes, and advise me as to how it could/should be cleaned. I took my family heirloom, hand made Chinese rug to Oriental Rug Weavers for cleaning and evaluation. The rug was found to be around 80 years old but, with ORWs expert care, it cleaned up perfectly and really brought out the vibrant colors.Mr. Khan researched the item and was able to provide a history of the rug, what the pattern signifies and its maker.All in all, it was a very satisfactory experience and I would recommend ORW on my experience with them.

We had a Chinese runner cleaned and also had the fringe which had been badly damaged repaired. Faisals staff did a wonderful jog. We were absolutely delighted with the result. I enjoyed meeting Faisal and learned during my conversation with him that his father owned the shop in the Taj Mahal hotel in Karachi where I purchased our dining room carpet almost 40 years ago as an Air Force pilot. My father bought four Oriental rugs -- two Turkmens from Bokhara and two Kashans from Persia -- in Cyprus in the mid-1950s. They had been gently used but had never been cleaned, except by vacuuming, which had damaged some of the fringes and edges. Faisal was able to identify their origin, tell us how much they were worth, and explain how they needed to be restored and what we could expect from the restoration process he recommended for each rug. He also told us which repairs of the largest rug were not worth attempting, because they would be too obvious. He sold us pads to go under the rugs and explained how to care for them after cleaning. When the cleaning and repairs were complete, we were delighted by the results. The process took several months, but we thought getting it done properly was more important than getting it done fast. My sister, brother-in-law and I all enjoyed meeting Faisal and learned a lot by talking with him. I would recommend his services to anyone.

Oriental Rug Weavers is by far the very best choice – the only choice in our opinion – for anything related to oriental rugs, whether you’re purchasing, cleaning or repairing a rug – particularly the latter in our case. The owner, Faisal, has unequaled knowledge and integrity and takes tremendous pride in his work which is why he gets such great ratings. He’s an absolute master and true artisan!We had a very large handmade, family heirloom oriental rug that was far too big for the living room in our new home. We did not want to sell it because of its sentimental value and the thought of cutting it down to fit the room made us cringe – but it was the only option since we wanted to keep it. We spoke with a couple of other well-known oriental rug dealers and cleaners in the northern Virginia area and none of them were comfortable reducing the size of the rug since it was handmade. Then we found Oriental Rug Weavers and Faisal. Faisal said it would be a very difficult task and explained in meticulous detail how the rug would have to be cut and restitched. Because the rug was handmade, the stiches were not perfectly aligned going across the rug, so it was not simply a matter of cutting the rug and sewing it back together. It sounded impossible and we were very doubtful that the rug would ever look okay after it was cut, but we proceeded anyway because of our trust in Faisal. When Faisal called and told us the rug was ready we purposefully did not pick it up for a week because we were afraid of how bad it was going to look and needed to muster up the courage to go. OMG were we wrong!!! The job Faisal and team did was unbelievable! We couldn’t even tell where the rug was cut until he pointed it out. How they were able to cut and reattach the rug with a virtually invisible seam is still a marvel to us!
