I love the facts that they are not in it for the money. I was in there shopping for a bike July, I wanted a bike so bad I was willing to pay for shipping from another Trek dealer. So a 1k bike was going to cost about 1500. Mrs. J not only stop me from spending the money but also explained to why buying a bike online was the worst idea. Sizing, feel, riding, and so on. We talked for hours about my perfect ride. She told me to wait and will call me when the right one comes in. Waiting eagerly by the phone, she calls me 3 months later. Of course it was perfect for me. With the honesty and knowledge, they have a customer for life. All my needs will come from them when I am in need of any cycle needs. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Lorna was very helpful with sizing and options with what we were looking for. When we got to the shop, she had the bikes ready for my wife and I to try out. She also gave my wife a quick lesson on how and when to use the gears. Im very happy that I decided to purchase from here instead of competitor.

Best Bike shop I’ve ever been too. Got my bike in and out quick. Explained some functions of my bike I didn’t know about by throwing my bike up on a stand showing me how it worked. Really personable people that clearly are doing what they love.

I just dropped by for the first time to pick up a bike pump that wasn’t available at my local bike shop. I found the owner of J&R to be extremely pleasant & helpful. Sounds like they’ve been in business for 40+ years. I’d bet their knowledge & wonderful customer service have a lot to do with it. I would definitely go back here again.

Been taking my nearly 40 year old Schwinn Varsity 10-speed to J&R for over a decade for routine maintenance and repairs for over a decade and will continue to do the same. Always friendly, prompt, detail oriented and reasonably priced. About the only original parts left on the bike are the frame, fork, neck, cranks and gears. Everything else upgraded to make for a nice comfortable to ride all around bike and each accessory from J&R. Not since the old Allens Cycle Shop shut down have I enjoyed such personable service. I bought a bicycle at J&R 25 years ago when they were at Villa Park and I have been very satisfied with their service since.

Well it seems the repair market is extremely busy so you might need to wait a week to get an appointment which was my situation. I put my name on the list, I received a call J & R said bring in your bike and they repaired it in just a couple days. The price was reasonable and as many know the world supply for new bikes is very tight so keep your bike tuned in tip top shape.

First time to get tire spoke fixed. While waiting in line observed staff to be helpful, attentive, and friendly. They asked how people’s families were, how their race went, were they happy with their recent purchase. Witnessing these small interactions made me feel very comfortable in the knowledge that I would definitely come back!

I went in for a tire change and everything seemed to go well. Since Im new to cycling J & R was able to provide helpful information as to what type of tires would be recommended. I took my road bike in for quite a bit of work this winter. The price was great, and I felt like I could trust everyone I have talked to at the store. Both before and after the work was completed.Rebuilt bottom bracket, new neck (so I don’t beam down as much), all cables replaced, new tape, new break pads. Can’t wait for spring!Thank you J&R

What a WONDERFUL bike shop! They have a great selection, on site repairs and excellent customer service.

It is the ONLY place I have or WILL go on 20 some years. And it’s the only place you need to go to get expert advice AND not be oversold! Yep ~’there are very good high end bike shops around but J&R has the full spectrum of bikes - beginner to serious racing and of course electric! And all the accessories you could want. The difference with J&R is they don’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need or won’t likely use. PLUS they put you in the grade or quality (think price) where you should be sometimes that’s a higher level (usually for safety) but far more often they recommend an moderate or even lower level bike or accessory than what I was looking at! And their service/ repair is “old school” - personal, exceptionally professional and what you need without “padding” the bill! Speaking of service - right now I have a bike in for a time up and they are running a couple of weeks to get it back - but it is absolutely WORTH IT! If a shop can pump our tune ups in a day - especially during this particularly busy time (spring PLUS COVID) just how meticulously do you think that shop is going to focus on what your bike really needs??? J&R is unique not the “cheapest” price but also no cheap quality either! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (And no I don’t work there nor am I personal friends with anyone how does - just a VERY happy customer for over 25 years!)

The people hear know what they are doing and are not condescending like other places I have been at. Super knowledgeable and helpful as they want people on their bike. Excellent! Went in there for tubes and a spoke, but also came away with more. Guy has been in business since 1974, so he must be passionate in what he does. Will be back again!7/29/2020 update- these guys are the real deal as sometimes you can get people on a good day, but I returned again for something small and was treated with the same excellent customer service and hustle to make sure people can get on their bikes as I did before, even though I just needed an axle and my freewheel removed. I know I didnt make the guys a lot of money, but they still were just as helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. Wish I could give more stars.

I had to take my Trek E-Bike in for service due to a strange noise coming from the motor. Bob assessed the bike as needing a new motor which would have to come in from California. When it arrived Bob went to work and replaced the chain, put on new brake pads, worked on the bearings, and soon the 5 year old bike was good as new. Quick and efficiently. They employ a most friendly and hard working crew. My bike is working like new....J & R is the best bike shop in the whole world!

I’m very happy with my Verve 2. I haven’t ridden in many years. J&R Cycle made sure I selected the best bike for my riding needs and ensured that I was on the correct size bike. I had to wait a couple days for them assemble it (I needed a large, I’m 5’11), before I got to take it home. Their customer service is great! I have been riding everyday since.

J&R was responsive and communicative while other local shops were doing their best to communicate how busy they were due to COVID-19 related demand. They answered the phone, had parts in stock, repaired my trusty road bike both quickly and when they promised, and stayed in touch by phone and email. Top-notch!
