This has been my go-to mechanic since I have been stationed in VA. They were able to diagnose and fix problems with my 2009 Dodge Charger that even the dealerships failed to fix. Super helpful and courteous. When my Charger got totaled in an accident they were very helpful getting me proof of my repairs to prove the money I put into the car. A year or so later I finally needed work on my new car and the quality hasn’t dropped at all. Friendly service, honest mechanics, and quality work keeps me coming back. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Scheduled an inspection and they flushed my brake system at my request. Headlight lenses needed cleaning to pass inspection and they look as new as the day my car rolled off the showroom floor. So I brought my van in for some work. They were fast as hell. Did everything correctly, price was extremely fair, even gave me print outs of my alignment (which lots of places claim to have a broken printer). Ive been working on my own vehicles for years and simply dont have the time for it anymore. Im very confident in their work and will be using them for my vehicles going foward.Edit: also, I read something about puppies running around, where are the puppies! I wanted to see them

I just want 2 say I picked up my truck 2 day. And OMG she runs like she did when I bought her back in 2007. Dean and Dan did a really great job. I has the transmission replaced and the rear main seal/plate. I also had my oil pressure switch replaced. As they was working on my truck they found a few more things wrong with my front end. I am so thankful for Dean and Dan fixing my truck and making sure that I am safe. So for everyone listening u need any work done take it 2 Beacon Auto Repair they r the best. These people are crooks. When you need something fixed they’ll fix it, but if they notice something else that’s wrong with your car, they will just fix it without running it by you first so they can charge you more money. Rude staff, and they have wild dogs running around inside the building for some unknown reason.

Quoted me a price for tire rotation. Went to pick up my truck and it was 30 dollars more than quoted. Said I had 20 inch trims so it cost more. 30 dollars more. They never bothered to call me. Just did the work anyway. The lady was looking at my truck when I dropped it off. This is becoming common practice everywhere. Upcharge everybody and everything. This one lost a customer.

Best auto repair shop in town! The staff creates a very friendly environment and the mechanics are awesome. They explain exactly what is wrong and exactly what they have to do to fix your vehicle. They gave me a price estimate before they did any work. Definitely my best experience with an auto shop yet!

Brought my 2012 Ford Escape here earlier this year on the recommendation of a friend after the local dealer wanted me to replace a leaking timing cover (~$1,200 repair.) Danny and the crew were very nice and found that the cover just needed some cleaning. Brought the car back more recently for a new set of tires & to recheck the cover. I appreciated the no-nonsense fair price on the tires. Even better, Danny found the timing cover to be in good shape with no leaks. No more trips to the dealer for me! Excellent experience, recommended without reservation.

My go to place for any auto repair or state inspections. One new thing is they now have 2 dogs that stay on site with them. There are signs alerting you of this before you go in. But dont worry, they are the sweetest pups in the world. They only come up to you if you invite them and they have great manners.

Once, when they were unable to resolve an issue, they told me what they thought the problem was and how to get it resolved (it was something only the dealer could do). Took my wife’s van for an oil change and was quoted the normal $30-$40 for an oil change that is fine. They called and said it was done but we’re recommending a fluid flush and a battery. We said we would go ahead with the fluid flush for $51 but when we got there to pick up the vehicle they quoted us $127. Now she did not inform us of other charges that the flush would come with. We were expecting to pay around $85 but we payed $106. She said that there was nothing more she could do with the price because the work was already done but she did price down some things to get it to $106. My concern is you need to go by what you told me on the phone for pricing or let me know that there will be other charges with the flush I mean we didn’t plan to spend that much. We try to support local business when we can but will go back to AAA for our next service.

Went to get an inspection done and was failed for not having a bolt in the body of my truck. Oh and my brake cable is rusted thru.. damn thing works and not one spot of rust on the cable or housing.. these people are trying to get work out of a $20 inapection. Not one bit of that should of failed a safety inspection. COME ON PEOPLE..

My girlfriend took her car here because it wouldnt start. They diagnosed the problem that it needed a new starter and charged $50 to diagnose it. Then to fix it they were going to charge $580. We then found two different people that only charged $100 for the labor. Replacing a starter only takes an hour and a half. A starter at most is $150. Theres no way they could charge that much for a Honda accord. Will not come back here.

2nd year coming to get inspected first time was okay, 2nd time they tried to charge me for stuff not even applicable to the state inspection check list. I was not fond of Katie at all. She was snappy, rude, with a nonchalant attitude. The other staff was ok the main receptionist was helpful. They pick at every little thing to get your money and throw unnecessary stuff in to charge you more than what is needed. This was my last and final time going to them . I clearly was not that satisfied. I’ll be finding another place to get my car inspected next year .

My husband was out of town for the week and my car started acting up so I called Beacon and was able to bring my car right over. Dan and Christy were so helpful and took care of my car right away so I didnt have to call a cab. My husband usually arranges for car maintenance and repair. Normally I would have been stressed out taking it anywhere else on my own, wondering if I was being taken advantage of. I trust Beacon Auto to take care of my car, me, and my wallet.

Had some work done. They did everything I ask for except the diagnostic test which I needed the most. Not even 30 mins after I picked up my car I was having issues. People seem nice but not happy at all with not having to take my car somewhere else to find out the real issues.

AMAZING!!!! There are no words to explain the customer service, the efficiency, and the amazing work that this establishment does. I am new to the area so I had gone to another shop not knowing about this place to have my car assessed fir a state inspection and they had told me that in order to get my car to where it needed to be that I would have to spend over $1,000. A friend of mine had suggested that I take my car to Beacon Auto Repair and I walked away with paying less than $100.00 for all of my needs. The tech even showed me everything that the other shop was trying to get me on, and walked me through on why my parts were still in good condition and were not needed to be replaced or worked on. I have been there twice now, the second time for an oil change and because I was hearing a weird sound. My friends had told me that I would probably pay over $500.00, I definitely spent a lot less and it was done in less than 2 hours! I am a property manager of 2 apartment communities and I recommend this shop to EVERY ONE of my residents as well as my family and friends!!!THIS IS VIRGINIA BEACHs BEST KEPT SECRET!!!!

Staff was friendly and there were puppies! 2 Stars bc my car was in the shop for less than 3 hours and I got charged $324 dollars for labor. I wish I made 100+ / hr! Alignment, tire rotation, oil change. Nothing crazy for 100+/hr seems pretty ridiculous.

Rude ServiceI used to go to Beacon Auto shop frequently when I had an older beat up car and Dan had always given me the best price and best car repair. Before they relocated, they used to be nice and attentive to me. As a good gesture, I would always recommend them to ALL of my friends and my relatives. I would always swear by their excellent customer service. Everytime I used to go see Kristy and Dan, I would be excited and know everything will be fine. 3 years later, when I bought a newer car and after my warranty ended, I didnt hesitate and go anywhere else but Beacon. Not only that they relocated unnoticed, they have new front desk clerks now. One of them wears glasses and have a heavy-set look to her, she rolled her eyes upon my arrival. She was very unpleasant and i felt like I was treated indifferently. And then Kristy was rude for the most part too. I felt bad for her because she has gotten old and stressed out. Altough, I still recieved a good car repair by Dan, I will never come back here. And I am SCARED to recommend any of my college friends and family to come here. Good old days are over.Response to the Owner:Its really not about how good and great the repair and prices are, its the morale of the business is whats important. I didnt even care if you didnt remembered me. I would rather pay more elsewhere for better customer service and RESPECT for others.

Best auto place in Hampton Roads.

I went for annual auto inspection and I was told I need to replace a side marker bulb. Bulb cost 1.52 and I was told labor was 52.00. Total63.00 with 10 inspection fee. Was told they replaced two but receit said one. I believe labor charge 2as excessive because volvo told me the cost should have been no more than 15.00.
