With that said Im disappointed in the service I received. New battery purchased and I was told to jump start it and I asked why do I have to jump start it? Its a brand new battery. Called and got no reply then called again and they said take it to an interstate battery dealer. Not real happy. Car is sitting dead!

I’m so glad I decided to trust the Google reviews and try this business. I have a 2005 Lexus that has relatively low mileage. I had several instrument panel lights come on. Scheduled an appointment, they checked out the problems, explained what the immediate and underlying issues were. I okayed the estimate, they delivered on the repair on time and I swear the car is driving better than it was when it was gifted to me nearly 4 years ago. I would not hesitate to use them again. They are professional, courteous, friendly and I definitely feel like I got great work at a reasonable cost

Thank goodness we found this place. Our 2003 Camry was running rough with shaking and a flashing check engine light. I was able to have the car towed to their shop the day of the repair. They diagnosed the CE light and found the “new” spark plugs I had replaced by another shop a few years prior were indeed not new at all. The also repaired a broken radiator fan. Now the Camry drives smooth and like new. We couldn’t be more happy with the results. They had great communication throughout the process too. I highly recommend this place to service your Toyota. I was referred by a friend to take my vehicle to Japanese Auto Masters and also have heard good things on Nextdoor neighborhood app. I took my vehicle in for State Inspection and the service I received was very good. I need a couple of things done to pass inspection that need to be fixed and the price was very reasonable. The staff is great and friendly and always keeping you informed of the progress of your vehicle while its there. I found my go to place when ever I need car repairs. I highly recommend Japanese Auto Masters to anyone looking for an honest place to take your cars too.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had my truck looked over since I noticed something leaking. They determined no work needed to be done, which most places would have told me there were issues that would cost a lot. Whenever I do need something fixed I’m going back because of how honest they are and their good customer service.

I brought my vehicle in for service first thing in the morning (at 8a) and received it right before closing on a Friday. The JAM team was able to address all my issues going in (change transmission fluid, inspect my brakes, address my air conditioning not blowing cold) and recommended additional services as they saw fit with their free diagnostics service (for customers who already paid for a different service). I felt like they had my best interest in mind and did not feel sketched out or ripped off at any point. Pricing I would say is fair for the amount of work involved. I will be returning for my second service in a couple weeks to address different issues. Only thing that sucks is they arent open on the weekends! I will 100% recommend JAM to anyone with JDM vehicles that need services done, these guys are awesome!!

My Honda Element was a tricky one to fix! It was running rich and stalling every time I came to a stop. I went to three previous mechanics within 3 weeks trying to get it fixed before being referred to Japanese Auto Masters. After only a couple of days, they were able to determine the problem and fix it. They were all so friendly and quick to communicate. I highly recommend them!

First time here and will be back. Had thought I needed new brake pads and turns out I needed only the power steering flushed and filled. They were able to do all this in a matter of hours and had a very comprehensive digital inspection form which helped a lot to get a feel for other things that may need replacing. Prices were fair, communication was top notch, service was outstanding. Thanks again!

I had a great experience with Japanese Auto Masters. David was very informative about my services and was able explain the origin of the problems. He also provided other services that my car was needing with my lack of maintenance to my vehicle. Everything was also done in a timely manner. Dropping off my car on a Friday and having it ready Monday. Other minor repairs are needed, but having parts shipped, I am able to drop off the car once they have the parts. I highly recommend this repair shop and do plan on having future services done with them.

I was recommended services/repairs that werent necessary after getting another shops opinion. Not happy about a false recommendation that I have 2 torn front CV axle boots that need replacing for over $800... They arent even torn. Labor prices for chassis lube, Air Filter changes, Power Steering Flush were very high compared to an alternative shop... 300% higher. I dont get whats happening here. Sad to say, but a 4.9 rating is so wrong!!! Im quite disappointed to see the dishonesty and greed here. Hope this helps others question when things dont add up!

I have been a customer of Japanese Auto since 2007 and I remain loyal to a company that strives to take care of the customer first and foremost. I have had work done on my 2000 4Runner, my all time favorite vehicle, and they have offered the Toyoto parts and comparable generic parts, a savings of hundreds of dollars. The kicker is they have always been willing to evaluate the quality of the parts and have never steered me wrong! Go there and see for yourself.

Had a great experience at Japanese Auto Masters. They give you a really nice document, complete with photos, that shows everything your car needs. Joe the service advisor was fabulous. They were friendly and easy to get ahold of if I had questions. I would definitely recommend them!

I dropped my car off for a service engine light and two other concerns. They were able to fit me in two days before my appointment which I was very grateful for. No problems were detected by the Technician, guess that was just me worrying. Brought my car in for a state inspection at the end of February and had a really great experience. I made the appointment online, then dropped off my car with no problems. A few hours later their team text me a link to my “Digital Vehicle Inspection.” It showed the technicians who worked on my car and all the inspection details (good and bad). They made it REALLY easy to figure out what I needed to fix to pass inspection. The team was also very accommodating when I had to bring the car back to check that I’d fixed what was wrong with the car.Bonus: they left me a stick of juicy fruit gum and sent me a thank you note with a referral reward! I will definitely be going back!

I take all of my cars here. Currently we have a 2014 Mazda CX-5, 2008 Dodge Challenger, and 2019 Hyundai Tucson. They have superior attention to detail as each vehicle requires different spec fluids and they have always put the correct in. When having engine bay work done at this shop, it has been my experience that the engine bay has been cleaner than when I took it to them. This shows pride in their work.Their prices are in line with other shops in the VA Beach area, but the difference is, I have not had to bring any of my vehicles back for the same issue. On the 2019 Hyundai, we were offered free oil changes for life from the dealership and when I went to check the oil in the vehicle, the engine bay looked like hell and it was overfilled with oil. I will be bringing it to Japanese Auto Masters from here on as they take pride in their work.They are honest, and the worst I can say is I have had to leave my vehicle there a day extra due to availability of parts. I am willing to wait a day to get the correct part and have it done right. Keep up the great work! Thank you.

I was purchasing a used Nissan and went for car to be inspected before finalizing purchase to verify there were no major problems. They gave car thorough inspection and emailed Detailed list of entire car inside and out. What needs to be done and what looks good. Even took pictures! Japanese Auto Masters has been incredibly helpful in fixing up and maintaining our unique classic car, the 1991 Nissan Figaro. While other auto shops were hesitant working on this car (because of its rarity and unique features), JAM was not only willing to work on her, but also went above and beyond to find creative solutions to parts that that were otherwise difficult to locate in the states. Their appointment system works real well, I was on time and the person who checked me in was very courteous and friendly, he knew who I was when I walked in the door. They took my car in promptly and were finished in a reasonable time and best of all, they always do a full inspection on the car and brought to my attention items that need attention. They did find several items but they were presented and explained in a courteous manner without any pressure to get them done.p.s. - I do like their little gifts of appreciation that are found either in the waiting room or on the check in/out counter or left in the car when you leave.

What person wants to have a major repair done to their car? Well, we all know the answer to that one. I recently had to have a major repair done for the a/c on my Honda and Japanese Auto Masters worked with me to make sure this is what really had to be done. They had me come back anytime the a/c was not working so they could check it and make sure I really needed a major job done. I cant imagine any other dealership service department or independent repair facility going out of their way like this. They have been incredible many other times but they truly made a painful repair a great experience. They are truly masters at their craft and treat their customers with true professionalism. Definitely would recommend these guys to anyone. I brought Joe my 2010 Lancer Evolution. It appeared to have an issue and I was pretty sure I knew what it was but nothing was mentioned. I asked for a just a diagnoses and a test to be ran. Unfortunately, the issue I thought it had, it has.I got honest results.Although I havent yet decided what Ill be doing with the vehicle, I would definitely recommend anyone here.

Thanks to Tom Potter and his team for having the diligence and the knowledge to diagnose an engine problem on my 2007 Tahoe with 200K miles that my dealership blamed on age and miles and recommended a new engine. Toms years of experience and automotive knowledge made him perform several different test which eventually ended in a fairly simple fix and the engine is back at peak performance. Ive worked with Japanese Auto Masters since 1983 and was the repair shop to work on my 1983 280ZX and I recommend them highly.

My recent experience was my first time going to Japanese Auto Masters, and I was very impressed from the start. My vehicle with 120,000 miles was having some serious clutch issues. The owner Tom from the start was interested in finding out the real problem, and he wanted to have his technicians look over the vehicle. He didn’t want to sell me something I didn’t need. He even welcomed an outside estimate from my normal maintenance shop. I ended up needing to have the whole clutch replaced, and now my vehicle drives like new. Thank you, Japanese Auto Masters!

Excellent customer service! They reviewed every issue I had with my vehicle and advised what they would do. I had front brakes and rotors replaced as well as front wheel bearings replaced. The time my vehicle was in the shop was a little longer than expected, but they communicated changes in schedule very well and I was able to adjust. Would highly recommend!

Great service!! Took my truck to the Toyota dealership and they had NO idea what could be causing the problem and offered no help. JAM wouldn’t settle for the same answer even though the problem was complex. They fixed a significant issue that the dealership could not and for less than they quoted me. Couldn’t be happier. I was able to schedule service the same day I called. The service representative was very kind, kept his word that the service would take approximately an hour and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely return and recommend Japanese Auto Masters to my friends.

My car needed a yearly inspection. The inspection was completed when promised and the staff was very friendly. They even offered to drop me off somewhere near by so I didnt have to wait. Highly recommend!
