Visited for the first time yesterday! I was very, very impressed with the large selection of used gear they had. Will definitely be back. And just in case the big man in charge sees this review: you guys should get more percussion instruments!

This is exactly the Music Store I was looking for after leaving Japan that has awesome second hand music shops. When possible I try to buy everything used and Music Go Round’s selection is always revolving and top. I have traded in everything from a 8 piece Pearl kit to guitars, and bought quite a few things to add to my collection this last year we’ve been here. I saw a 16” zildjian rock crash cymbal at this store while searching google. It was 3x less than any other I saw online for the same product so I messaged them about it. Daniel got back to me within the hour, explained it was exactly the one I saw online and not some stock photo but the actual item, and he got it from VA beach to buffalo in 2 days! And the wrapping was very good as not to damage the cymbal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND based on price and customer service!

This place has a pretty large selection of used and funky old gear, left handed guitars and even an American Pearl drum kit. I picked up this Lab Series bass cab and it went perfectly into this synth rig. Great price too. I think I got a really cool pearl masters kit there a few years ago for a great price. I think an sm57 or two as well. Good store

Customer service is so important to me and this store was courteous and professional. I was going to make a purchase and my card had extra security features but MGR team was patient. I asked for an additional item and sales people were quick to help.

Limited inventory Regarding drum/percussion currentlyI know that through the pandemic, the trend of online shopping has become the dominant/preferred method of shopping, so I can understand the lack of gear on the shelves. If anyone has musical gear that is not being put to use, get it up to these places and get some cash and allow for instruments and hardware to be used by those trying to get it going.

The guys at the store always are so helpful and knowledgeable. I’ve gone back so many times and now they’re practically my friends, couldn’t ask for better service and I always learn something when I go. Don’t go anywhere else but here!

Daniel Self at MGR in VB has been my #1 connection for Pro studio gear, live sound, and guitar repairs for the last 2 years. Daniel is much more than a great sales person, he is a talented musician and blossoming engineer whos able to provide accurate stats on all of his products; narrowing my search to the items I would most like. Sales associate was not at all helpful. Basically rude and was wrong about all sizes of what I needed being the same. Ended up figuring out what I needed by myself so store did carry it. Prob won’t be back though

I like the reward points that they offer. I recently bought a guitar and got the case for free because of the reward points. None of the other places that sell guitars do that.

Although we did not reach a deal, Jeremys attitude and respectfulness went a long way in the negotiation process despite us both being at different numbers. Im going from 5 stars to 1! A few weeks ago I had the worst experience at music go round. I enjoy collecting guitars and will pay good money for guitars any where from 500 to 5000 dollars. However I came into music go round to exchange a guitar I Bought a few days ago, for one I knew I should have left with originally. When they saw me with the guitar I was exchanging, the employees became really rude! First off when i tried to start a conversation with the guys i was ignored. I stood there for about ten minutes at the check out table where the guy was doing some sort of task. (He clearly knew I was ready.)I finally spoke up and said I like to exchange this guitar. The employee look at me said hed be back and stept away To speak to what I assume is the shift manager. As I waited about 5min the shift manager came out from the back to assist me he was speaking to my wife and I really rude because I wanted to exchange a guitar. as a business this is poor practice. at witch point I decided to just proceed to get my money back. He went on to tell me the policy witch intaled getting store credit and having to pay a 10% restocking fee. At this point I am pretty angry, I decided to go to GUITAR CENTER down the road and just sell the guitar and only get a fraction of my money back. I am no longer going to do business with music go round and I would not recommend to a friend. Please do yourself a favor, shop at reverb.com. or Sweetwater.com the service is so much better and they work with you to get what your looking for.

Knowledgeable friendly staff. Great dynamic selection. Since it is a store that resells previously owned equipment there is always a very wide variety of brands unlike music stores that sell new, which usually carries only a few brands. Check their stock regularly. You never know what surprise pieces they get in.

They force you to put on their hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in. I didnt want to explain to them about a medical condition I have toward hand sanitizer. So I just turned around and left.

This is one of my favorite places to deal gear. Jeremy and the crew there are always friendly and honest. I prefer to sell my used gear outright but on the occasions I do trade, I know trade in value is less than sale price. The crew there is always very transparent and are willing to show and explain where they get their numbers from. Theyve always got an interesting selection of gear to come in and check out but its the fantastic staff that will keep you coming back.

Love this place! Jeremy and Daniel always take great care of me. Recently I saw a 1988 Les Paul Studio on their IG account that I had to have. My wife (shes the best) was able to call and purchase the guitar over the phone. Normally I like to see and play a guitar in person before I buy it but knowing and trusting Jeremy really eased my mind. When I finally got the guitar in hand I was NOT disappointed. 100% fantastic transaction and will always look to this store first when buying used gear.

Great store that focuses on used gear and customer service. If I have any questions, I can count on my guy Jeremy Feinstein to answer them ASAP and take care of my needs. As a full time musician, sometimes my schedule doesnt allow me to make it to the store on the day I spot something cool I need. They are great about letting you purchase gear online and pick it up in store. Its also home to an excellent guitar repair shop, Rosewood Guitar Repair. Music Go Round has become one of my favorite music stores to visit for the cool, the funky and the excellent gear I need to keep my career going.

Can’t overstate the outstanding customer service of all the associates, but in particular Jeremy Feinstein. Jeremy took the time over our interactions to learn about my tastes and what I’d be most interested in. He’ll occasionally let me know that he’s got an item in that would be of interest to me. I prefer used gear to new and this store is far and away the best one for my needs. Inventory changes often and it’s enjoyable to go on and browse. This is my like 5th review in my whole life cause I only do this when truly deserved. I’ve been getting equipment from there for years now and I love this place! I’ve never had one problem with anything I’ve bought and the costumer service is great!! I really just deal with 2 employees, currently Jeremy,that has gone above and beyond this past week to explain the things I didn’t understand. He had no ego like many other stores and knows me by name which is rare. Gotta give the same props for $&@“, I can’t remember his name which upsets me but the nice gentleman with the long hair. This is the place to go for real good gear! Jeremy knows his music equipment! No matter what it is, he helps me out and even calls or sends messages if its something that he thinks I would be interested in. I will go here first before any of the other music stores around. Music go Round has become my go to spot for gear in the Tidewater area. They always have a great variety of goodies to browse. I personally love some of the more unusual guitars they get their hands on and Jeremy always lets me know when they get something I may be interested in. I have actually hit him up about products in his off time and he gets me my answers very quick. Who does that?!? Awesome staff and a nicely put together store. Highly recommended. Sure, a musician could find what they need at some big chain music store but there isn’t that feeling of being cared for and/or having knowledgeable staff on-hand to help. But then there’s Music Go ‘Round where Jeremy and his team make sure that not only each customer is treated as much more than “just a customer”, but more like an artist in need and the staff are the artists’ co-collaborator. They put the gear on their webpage do you can look for what you want without making a trip.They also have strings, pics, drum sticks... All the usual music store items.

I’ve always found a good selection of guitars acoustic and electric and helpful staff at Music Go Round. Jeremy in particular goes out of his way to answer any questions and notify me of new arrivals that may be of interest. He is quite knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure you find an instrument to meet your needs. I’ve also been very impressed with Larry’s expertise and willingness to help as technician with any alterations, repairs, equipment needs as they arise.

An incredible place with great deals. If you pay attention to their website, there are some genuinely great deals with their price reductions. They pay more than anyone for used trade ins. Yes they make a profit, but this is a business and thats what a business has to do to stay in business. I have some of the best pieces of my collection thanks to the Lynnhaven MGR and MAINLY thanks to Jeremy, the Manager who goes WAY out out of his way to help me on a regular basis... even if its just something small. Great little spot to find all those little pieces of gear I diddnt know I needed! I always try to stop by at least once every few weeks to see whats new. What really makes the me want to come back around is the staff. Jeremy is super helpful. If I cant find what Im looking for he keeps an eye out and when it pops up he has actually called to let me know and ask if I want him to hold it for me. This has come in handy a few times, especially when Im trying to find a particularly hard to find piece of gear.

Im very new to playing guitar, so I usually feel awkward going into music stores. That has not been the case here. Everyone that I have talked to here has been extremely nice and helpful, and I have felt completely comfortable whenever I have visited. The store is well organized and the prices are clearly marked on everything. They have a really wide selection and great prices, with great service but not to the point where you feel like you cant turn a corner without snapping their neck. Definitely check them out before you buy somewhere else. And they have a military discount, which to me says a lot about a place.

As a professional touring musician and studio owner, I’m always looking for that odd, unusual or rare but “necessary” piece of gear, and in many instances, a gently used and tested piece is more valuable than a brand new untested item, and that’s where the folks at Music Go Round shine. They get to know their customers and keep a sharp eye out for items we might be looking for to complete our gear collections.I’ve spent some time, (and money!) there since they’ve opened in Virginia Beach, and rarely if ever have I had an issue with something, and if I do, they handle it professionally and rapidly. Jeremy Feinstein, Daniel and the crew let me know if stuff shows up that I might be interested in or looking for, by texting me with photos and prices, and that personal service is rare and appreciated. And the Virginia Beach location now has the workshop of one of the finest guitar and instrument repair craftsman in the area, Larry Berwald’s Rosewood Stringed Instrument Repair. i bought 5 guitars there over the year or so, and they were fine, fairly priced, and then Larry and Chris gave them the once over “Rosewood” tweaks and I play them regularly. Worth the trip from the wilds of Great Bridge to visit the store.
