Awesome little local store one of the few on Maui that has those special things that locals are looking for. From food to meat poultry, seafood. They also have a great selection of uncooked or cooked foods. The plate lunches are awesome and the multitude of choices in side dishes is great. One of the last of its breed really hope they keep going strong. I drive a long way to support them. Plus the staff is all local so its good fun talking to and joking with them a real hidden gem.

This is a great little corner shop, with plenty of choice in terms of local food. In addition to the classic supermarket items, they also have a good choice of take-away food, like poke. I found the prices here to be competitive with the larger superstores on the island and the people were friendly. Choice is more limited, though, but as a tourist, I found the local choice more authentic.

So many good memories here. My dad would take me to work with him and we would always stop at Takamiya and grab musubi, bentos and everything else for the day. Now, I do the same with my kiddos. So glad they are still here!!

Takamiya will always be Takamiya i like going there when Im going to beach and need fast kind grinds with on the go bento for breakfast lunch dinner and your basic pupus raw fish poki home made pork skins beer etc famous mix ground beef, homemade potato or Mac salad steaks, stew meat etc. Happy valley small market and everyone knows each other. Incredible poke and other food items in the market. Got the spicy ahi, shoyu ahi and the taco. Super friendly staff and felt like family while there. They even recommended a couple of places to eat their poke after and were super appreciative. Will be back!

The servers at the ready made counter were very nice and helpful! Unfortunately, the amount of salt in both the pokes we tried made the fish inedible. We also picked up some puaa pork which was also very salty. We werent able to have more that a bite.

I love this Market! Everything is fresh, great place for Poke bowls. They do a great business for lunch and the daily specials and sweets are so ono! I especially the cream cheese bars, and fried chicken.

Been coming here over ten years. Good price for poke and sashimi. They also have good bentos to grab on the way to Iao Valley or something. Friendly staff here too. Feels like being teleported to old Maui. I hope this shop never changes.

Takamiya Market Started by Person named Kenneth Takamiya. Heck they even used to have a Truck for Delivery in the 1947. heres a Photo of the Truck and the Happy valley Flood.

I have gone Shoppe at Takamiya Store in Happy Valley in Wailuku many times they have the best Local food and really good prices.My Son and I love their food and they have Kalua Pork that is out of this world.We love their salads and Local desserts.I read recently that Takamiya Store in Wailuku will be going out of business.Their will be alot of people who are very sad to see Takamiya Store close.

They have a variety of food thats already cooked or prepped to cook. I love their marinated meats and potato mac salad most. This is a great spot to stop for poke and Bentos too.

Today at 6/22/18 at 4:40pm I was threatened by their staff with physical violence towards myself because their debit card machine is broken. I purchased 225.00 $$ worth of groceries to celebrate my mothers birthday while we are visiting Maui. Unbelievable yet, after the woman behind the register threatened to assault me she had 3 minors follow me to my car in front of my family, like this was a gang banger movie.Please avoid this store if u want your family to be safe and if you feel like you should be respected by store employees for spending your hard earned $ there. In my 35 years of existence I have never been treated so disrespectful for purchasing items at a grocery store I believe the white woman covered in tattoes who operates the register is racist and I intend to press charges towards her for this terrible experience and for threatening myself and my family because she was having a bad day.

Maui locals standby for fresh poke, sashimi, marinated meats, small plates and bentos with butcher. Plate lunches made to order across the street. Pkg very limited but locals are gracious allowing people to exit and or cross street. Only in Hawaii! Got my fathers day cookout meats, poke, Kim chee, poi and my fave Redondo red hot dogs so tasty on the fire. Closed Sundays except for Superbowl type events.

This is your typical mom and pop store. They have fresh made poke as soon as u walk in. Bento meals ready to go or even make ur own bento box to go but be warned they sell out fast. But make sure u lock you cars.
