Great place to find the unexpected. Excellent service with a lot of knowledge about everything they carry. Incredibly beautiful woods and tools to work with the specialty woods. Definitely worth the trip across island to shop at HLM!

Great Selection of hardwood and softwood varieties. Neat and tidy warehouse. Great selection of Festool and other woodworking tools. Open half a day on Saturday which is huge!

Great place for all your wood working tools and lumber

I was in Maui in May and wanted to bring back some exotic woods back to Canada,needless to say I was not disappointed at all.I was greeted by friendly,very helpful staff and a great selection of woods,curly Koa,Ipe ( e pay ),Lychee,Mango and Bolivian Rosewood are what I picked up,but they have way more than that.Great quality,I wasnt treated like a tourist and I would recommend any fellow knifemakers or wood workers to go to this store.

They were absolutely fantastic to me, a clear tourist. They stocked a bunch of cool exotics, but I was here for one thing - Koa. Or so I thought! I bought some Koa (about $20/bf for the short boards), and got a few jacoba shorts - they were happy to trim he shorts even shorter, and gave me some really small off-cuts for free.I had such a good time, I came back again - this time for 16 sheets of mango veneer ($16), another beautiful piece of Koa, some ironwood (ipe), and a little bit more Jacoba. I think I only spent a total of about $50, but wouldve spent so much more if I wasnt scared about what I could fit in my checked bag / carry on!5 stars for the great service, friendly employees, great stock of exotic woods hard to get in NYC, and great prices. Seriously one of my favorite things done on the island.
