We visited this cute Amazon bookstore a few weeks ago. My friend recommended it. Super cute, a little small but not too overwhelming of a bookstore. I was looking for a book on blogging and they didnt have it. I was bummed! Thats why I gave it 4 stars. Employees were very friendly and helpful. We were greeted when we first arrived. My husband and I found some books as well as our boys. The books were so dang cute that they picked out! Pricing was reasonable. Especially if you have Amazon Prime you get the Amazon Prime prices. If and when we are in the area we will definitely visit again. Also, George was a wonderful cashier! Thanks for everything!
Loved this place! But, then again I love almost all book stores. Because Im a Prime member I was able to get a couple of books I was really pining after at amazing prices. The stores was well stocked and the staff were helpful and polite. Ill be back!
All the workers were amazing even after I came in 10 minutes before closing. They have almost everything, they don’t have much manga if you are looking for it. Other then that it’s quick and easy to find stuff here.
They have a variety of items and are willing to match the online prices of its cheaper than the store, which has only happened once to me, but the staff is nice and helpful as well.
Isnt it funny that the business that helped to destroy change brick and mortar is now its own Brick and Mortar? Great staff. Good prices. Ill go back
Amazon bookstore is a quaint little store that has combined the idea of a traditional bookstore and media store in one. It is kid friendly and has a small cafe within the store. It almost feels like a library except you dont have to be super quiet all the time. You can buy books, toys, stationary, and other little items. Kids have media stations where they can play games on fire tablets and the toddlers were not left out. They have a childrens area with simple toys and fire tablets catered to toddlers. My kids like it and so do I. It brings back the fun in reading albeit in a non traditional way. Millenials will love it.
Always a fun place to stop in and look for a new book or gadget. You can get the Prime member price at the register with your registered payment.
Well... Its the amzon store, it has books and some gadgets... And you return stuff so, you know what to expect
Rare to see a big name book store these days, but Amazons store in Walnut Creek has been there for a little while and and is really convenient when you just dont want to wait! They have more than just books there too, so you can occasionally find something fun and unexpected.
Nice to browse through a bookstore and at the amazing low pricing as on Amazon. Com.
Seems more and more Amazon Bookstores are popping up!? Its a fun place to visit, though not for the serious readers as the place is noisy, has no sit down corner for reading, and focus more on fiction and cookbook than non-fictions.Pro:- clean, organized- check out is a breeze. No credit card needed as long as youve got an Amazon account- has a coffee corner which is not as busy as the neighboring Starbucks- I like the idea of recommending lesser known books based on a popular titlesCons:- very busy and no sit down spot- I get that Young Adult and general Fictions are in, as half the store was dedicated to these genres. However I wished to see some more historical fiction and/or cool non-fictions
Very clean, organized, and the people working were nice! Only complaint was that we reserved a wait time and it went from 20 minutes to an hour then we still had to wait for a bit, but I know that isnt their fault. Maybe just a more accurate wait time estimate if they are doing reservations instead of waiting in line?
It was my first time at an Amazon brick and mortar store. The service was great and the employees were very helpful. They have a lot of the gadgets that work with Alexa so you can see and touch, which sometimes is better along with books, games and some odds and ends.
Great book collection, very much reminiscent of Barnes and Noble.
Really great help! Staff was super knowledgeable about the layout of their store helped me find a really good book on SQL coding.
Cute little bookstore. Love to step inside an actual bookstore. Nice selection of books. Highly recommend!
Physical copy of Amazon. Nice to be able to actually touch some of the stuff you can get from the online shopping juggernaut.
My experiences here are all over the place. One day they wouldnt take pre-approved returns another time I ran in and got what I needed in less that 5 minutes.
I rented a book from Amazon. The book is due on august 11. Beginning July, I kept getting emails from Amazon that the book is due and I can buy it for $79 dollars. It is not even august. It is jarring and down despicable.
Loving this place! Barnes and noble definitely have competition! This store has all the latest and greatest gadgets and books. The layout is clean no clutter. Everything is easy to find and if you need help just ask. I had the greatest customer service in this store. I actually chose an entirely different book based on her recommendation! They have a children section that also has the latest toys everyone is buying. LOL balls and Hatchables are the current craze! At the check out stand there’s seems to be a little something for everyone. I opted for the felt tip pens that smelled of pineapple and other fruits! They’re a cashless store which is brilliant! Employees don’t have to worry about getting robbed or going to the bank to make a deposit. She asked if I was a prime member and had the credit card I signed up with. Two yes’s saved me $25.00 on my purchase! I paid $35.00 for two books and pens! That’s an amazing deal! I’m definitely going back! If your in Walnut Creek check out the store.
Things really change, but I never thought that an Amazon store with all the technology would have such terrible service and lack of capability to handle simple transactions at the door like most of the other stores do. It was such a bad experience that we just went and got a gift card at a different store that could take the purchase fast and at the door. Dont get confused, I love Amazon and I am an Amazon prime customer for the last 10 years. This is the first time that my experience with Amazon was so terrible..Amazon, if you need ideas on how to manage store customers, please get in contact with me. I have many solutions.Nespresso and sephora for example has better technology and capability than you guys, comparing when its time to take care of the costumers at the store.
Returned a Amazon package very easy to do
Clean. Well organized. A variety of selection for anyone. A lot of amazon gadgets. Good service, wipes down counter after each customer. And has sanitizer and mask at door for customers
Always a fun store to browse
Had nice selection of books. I had to wait to go in. Due to Covid restrictions, they only let a certain number of people in at one time.
Nice place to find gifts and books
I love this store! Super easy to navigate around and find what youre looking for. The kids section has everything from baby to toddler to young teen and its very kid friendly. Love that you can check out using your Amazon account! Staff is also very nice and very helpful.
Amazon is taking money and business from our community. Support your local bookstores. Amazon also undercuts publishers and authors and has severely hurt the publishing and book industry. Boycott amazon. They don’t care about you and they are funneling money from your community.
It is a small physical book store. Kind of cool being able to walk around and look at books. Selection is not the largest and they their electronics on display. Magazine selection very small. Best part is being able to drop off returns to Amazon there for free. I returned some shoes there and was credited back to my account in a few hours. Much faster than listed on website. Only downside is parking. Little to no street parking. There is a parking structure behind them but it can fill up quickly. Narrow alley walkway to get out to the street.
Ok
Wonderful place to browse.
Very helpful with Amazon tablet.
Staff was AMAZING, so patient and helpful! The products have only bar codes because prime members get online pricing and sometimes in the fly discounts. Store has a Petes Coffee bar but unfortunately no decaffeinated cold brew. The staff is super tech savvy and gave a run down of pairing devices with Alexa and app tips. Would definitely return to this location.
Been there a few times to drop off delivered packages to return to Amazon. The staff there is friendly and very efficient. The bookstore is big and easy to navigate. They carry a plethora of books also sold online in Amazon, along with high tech devices to make your home feel like The Jetsons😂...So glad to have this store in Walnut Creek!
Its okay. The reviews are a nice feature but the selection is pretty limited. The best use of the Amazon store realistically is to window shop and buy what you want online. The whole store feels like a satisfying middle finger to Borders and Barnes & Noble since they pushed these companies out of the book industry by taking advantage of a lack of dependence on brick and mortar shops. Worth a visit for the novelty but thats about it.
Went in looking specifically for two best-seller titles and neither were in stock. If you are looking for what’s trending on Amazon maybe this is the place to go but otherwise small and under-whelming. Staff were nice though.
Great staff
Great for Prime members.
I love bookstores like this, reminds me of the nineties when they were all over the place. This location is quite small, but its comfy in its own way, but it does have a lot of foot traffic so can be a little distracting if your looking for a quiet place. You get some extra perks and pricing if youre a prime member. One thing I wish was that it is at least twice the current size.
Small store and can get crowded. The nice coffee area takes up 20% of the store, with no seating option to linger and enjoy your coffee and purchase goods, which can be a good thing. Broadway Plaza has a lot of nice areas anyway. Fairly fast & efficient check out, and an option when returning your Prime purchases. The staff is excellent and efficient!
Found some great deals in the store with my Amazon Prime membership. I enjoy shopping online, but it’s also great to be able to go in person in the store to look around. My kids think the store is really cool. The store is kid’s friendly and a great place to hang out and look at books on a weekend.
Weve really enjoyed going into Amazon books while wandering around WC. Of course you could find it all online, but the place is so well organized and clean that you end up wanting to search out some treasure of a book! Plus, hallelujah, they have bathrooms in the store! We enjoyed taking our kids here to spend their birthday cash!
There are actually very few books here considering all the books face forward, with none lined up like in normal bookstores. Also, still dont know how this can let unknown/up and coming authors without 4.0 and up ratings to get discovered. Amazon electronic products are well stocked for sure
Interesting idea, you can check out certain items physically. Something is to be said about touching, turning over and really looking at a physically item.
Love the curated books for all kinds of topics... Top rated only and staff is great at helping. So easy to pay. All you need is your Amazon App! My girls love the kids section with the Kindles and books while their dad spends a lot of time looking through business books on the other side of the store and I get to keep an eye on the little while using the free WiFi.
Virtual amazon appears before you with the added convenience of not having to wait for shipping. Store has a section where you can play around with the Amazon gadgets which is nice if your planning on making a purchase. The children section was depressing and needed some new renovations and an added touch of imagination and wonder.
I went here to return a product. This was a very simple process and the staff were very friendly. Strangely enough, this location reminded me of the old Borders bookstore. Lots of books, a coffee shop and comfortable chairs.
They were very helpful. I got in, grabbed the kindle I wanted and checked out.. all in about 8 minutes.. perfect!!!
I am visiting from out of town. Do not have this book store in my neighborhood.A very pleasant visit. Customers service is excellent. The store is neat and clean, no scattered books.... 🤩🤩
First time here. I liked the layout, sections/categories are easy to find with lots of variety and choices. Prices were good. The only reason the rating isnt a 5 is that I miss the personal recommendations that I loved so much with my old home town bookstore that closed.
I liked coming to an Amazon bookstore for the novelty. We bought our grandson a book. I asked one of the staff questions about the Kindle Fire, but couldnt get good answers.
They remodeled the store for the worse! The few chairs which were available are now gone as is the coffee shop which added more room for shelves.I guess they don’t like customers hanging around. It feels like they just want you to buy something and leave as quick as possible.
Nice shop, limited supply. Its better to see some items before buying them :)
I was only here for returning books. The service was fast. Other than parking, I have no complaint about this store.
This place is such a hidden gem! I spent about 2 hours in here browsing the books and various impulse placed around the store items. One of the Amazon Books partners, Kaylee, was so cheerful and helpful. I walked out with purchasing 7 books as a first-time guest!
Family always has a good time coming here
Walnut Creek desperately needs a good bookstore -- and, alas, Amazon isnt the solution. Despite boasting its the worlds biggest bookstore (or so they did at one point in their history), this brick and mortar store is more like a book kiosk youd find at an airport. Half the store contains actual books. The other half is a combination of coffee bar, and Amazon Echo, Kindle, and clocks showroom. Small, cramped, and containing books culled from Amazons ability to datamine peoples zip codes and online buying habits, the store feels like a postmodern reflection of the collective taste of an area rather than a carefully curated store by a bookseller.
Love this place. Wish they would bring back the coffee shop inside!
This is what I want all shopping trips to emulate. You scan prices yourself, can check out in seconds with a Prime membership and the store has a lot of products with all the information you need. Its such a great mixture of online and brick and mortar. Also, the staff is super friendly!
Its great to have a bookstore return to Walnut Creek. The new amazon store is bright and modern. There is a tiny, but welcome cafe. The books are all displayed cover facing forward which severely limits the stock. In the months since the store has opened, the stock has changed very infrequently. This is a problem for book lovers who visit their favorite bookstores frequently. The staff is very helpful and welcoming, but the store is small and tight with a feeling of come in, buy something, and leave.
Actually impressed with the Amazon Books store. Decent selection of books, gadgets, and gifts. Great layout that is easy to browse. Checkout is very fast if you are an Amazon customer.
Love that Walnut Creek has a physical book store again . It’s not as cozy and expansive as the previous Barnes and nobles in downtown, but it is still nice it exists .
Im really happy that there is an actual book store back in town. However, being in the middle of Broadway Plaza makes parking difficult. Reminiscent of the B&N, yet smaller, still a good selection and plenty of non-book gifts. There is a Peets inside too! They dont take cash but if you are a Prime Member, you get a discount. It would be helpful linking the online store to the brick and mortar store a little better, such as order pick up and returns.
Fun store to see lots of highly rated Amazon items in. Wish it was bigger though.
They had a really good selection of the highest rated books. The store was clean and peaceful. Loved it!!
Nice, and clean. They did not have the exact book that I wanted, but I was able to find a different one. Big selection of books. You can find every type of book, from Fiction to Political.
It was very busy but I was able to move around the store fine. The tags dont list prices but you can use your phone to scan them from the Amazon website or app. They also have in store scanner just in case. The only thing is, if you arent a Prime member some of the items are full priced and not the Amazon discounted price. So, it might be better to order them online if you arent a member. The selection is more limited than some other bookstores, but its still a cool ittle store and the people there were friendly.
Compact place with all the new bestsellers and some offbeat books too. Wish they were in a bigger space. Beiing a prime member gets you very good discounts.
A really nice book store with recent titles that are nicely organized. Clean and well set up. It’s not a big book store but it’s good for quick browsing and anything Amazon related.
Liked how seamless and easy buying was in the store. All the employees were happy and knowledgeable.Liked the mini coffee shop inside.
Fast, friendly, easy and modern. A very enjoyable shopping experience and easy quick way to do returns locally. Bonus for prime members. Youll enjoy the prime online pricing.
Its better. Theyre carrying more than just books now.
Weve got to go back! Only had time to check out half of the store. Books,Manga, electronics, just so much to see. Clean, well laid out.
Great browsing library. Humorous parenting section. Very mellow. Nice coffee bar as well.Helpful and courteous staff.
It was a bit of a hassle having to scan everything since my phone wasnt fully charged. Also, I was really annoyed they dont accept cash. I came in specifically to pay cash and not have a huge credit card bill. Store us beautiful though. People are very helpful.
Great place to go. They dont have pricing, so you have to scan things, but it makes it fun. Good for last min shopping and gift buying.
Ok off your looking for new release. Not alot of book inventory. Has lots of reading related gadget and other tools. Reminded me of an upscale radio shack with books & magazines.
Great to have a bookstore back in Walnut Creek. Ironic that it’s the company that drove many bookstores out of business. The store is beautiful. Have magazines Peet’s coffee and many books (including good children’s area) and some of Amazons basics and Kindle and Alexa items. They DO NOT take cash.
Walked in and so excited!! I MISS good book stores.
Its a 90/10 bookstore meaning current popular titles 90% and 10% to the second tier of popularity.
No seating for the handicapped or anyone else. One clerk was not knowledgeable at all.I dont like the store nor her attitude.
Very relaxing and calm atmosphere. I liked the distribution and how things are sorted out. Only negative point, the air conditioning, maybe too cold in my opinion
All the recent release books and a reasonable back catalog of your favorite authors plus Amazon gadgets and the always popular Amazon essentials all in an attractive space. Oh, dont miss the coffee bar. I was there shortly before Christmas and there were plenty of staff to help you out.
I appreciate that Amazon has opened up physical bookstores considering their presence has closed other ones. This particular one is a bit small but they carry a popular mix of products.
Great store front for Amazon. I enjoyed the displays to help understand some of the smart controls for your home. Bought some gadgets and books.
Polite, courteous, efficient when i called to ask if they had stock of a book. even gave me tips on parking during holiday season. Nice.
Cute bookstore with a cool tech section. As an early adopter of all things tech, I already own every Amazon Echo device but I want more! I was in the store shopping for the new Sonos speakers to go with. The sales team member was not as knowledgeable as she thought she was. She provided me with specific, detailed but incorrect information about the Amazon Echos capabilities. Amazon needs to train their brick-and-mortar sales and technical staff to be solid experts in the products they make.Ill probably go back and try again later.
Barnes & Noble is back! With some smart home options...
Nice to visit here when Im already out shopping and being able to get items right away.
Convenient locations, nice selection of books, and a thoughtful book recommendation system (If you liked X, then youll like Y and Z). And theres a Peets! Also, you can drop off Amazon returns there to avoid paying for return shipping.
Interesting first visit to an Amazon books store. Had a nice peats coffee. Interesting to see a book store on a main Street even if its by the empire that drove away book stores.
