Great oil company. high quality on everything.

I want to raise a bright red flag, to warn you to avoid doing business with Taylor and Murphy (merged with Arlmont Fuel in Arlington). I had a long-scheduled, routine central air system tune-up done by Taylor and Murphy last Friday. The technician works full time in a completely unrelated field, along with working part time for Taylor and Murphy (he told me so himself). He messed something up during the tune-up, didn’t tell me about it, and I have been getting nothing but unbelievable run around from the business since then. I strongly suggest avoiding Taylor and Murphy / Arlmont Fuel.

99.3% happy as a customer. Could do without the three and a half hour lectures on politics, history, and the Illuminati... sorry Frank, it was fun, but you could have been in and out in less than half the time and weve all got things to do.

Our system, which was of considerable expense, has never functioned correctly for at least two separate reasons, one functional and the other related to excessive noise, we are told, due to placement design. The company has been sold, the service person who said he could not help us at the time of his visit in November because of our particularly problem until warmer weather,, but who said he would return to do so in the Spring is retired, and the new owners say they are too far away, even in the same location, to service our needs, and will not support us. We are particularly disappointed with both our product, and in the service we received. We would never work with this company, either as Taylor and Murphy, or in its new incarnation again, and advise others caution before doing so. Thank you for soliciting my review.

After seeing one of their drivers cut 2 cars off on the highway the driver decides to flip everyone off. Not someone Id want to do bussiness with!!! Stay clear!!

The most unprofessional company I have EVER dealt with. I only used them as a family member refferred me to them when my regular guy who does oil burner cleanouts went out of biz. I had called them in October to get my furnace cleaned out and the earliest they had was December. Ok no problem. The guy shows up on time and was great. I asked him if he needed a check now and he said no they will send you an invoice. Ok Great. I know the going rate for clean outs are max $150 if nothing has to be replaced. So i had an idea of a ballpark of where my bill will land. Get a statement in February that just shows an amount of $660.24 and no itemized details of what that consists of. So I cal the office in walth and the very rude angry woman answers and i give her the details she puts me on hold comes back and says oh yeah your not an oil customer so we charge non oil customers $192 an HOUR and the technician was there for 2 hours....ok so i feel like im some what smart and last time i did math 2 hours x 192 = $384...not the $660.24 ..so she tells me to email this guys Scottt ? ok so i do - see below of the most unprofessional ridiculousr reposnes ever - AND NOW THEY ARE GOING TO SCREW THE PERSON THAT REFERRED ME TO THEM - Good luck Kati and ScottHi ToddThis is the rude woman you spoke to over the phone. He should have been charged $175.00 per hours. I have noted that in his account.Second: I looked at your bill and I only charged you $175.00 per hour plus parts, NOT $195.00, my error. I checked my guys GPS and he was there from 8:03 to 11:08. That is 3 hours and I only charged you 2.5 hrs. I can print the report if you would like? We replaced a fuel pump @ 147.31, firomatic valve @ $30.22, nozzle @ $16.80 and filter @ 6.12 .Total for bill $650.48.Scott is not willing to adjust this bill. Clearly you and the rude woman cant not read or communicate well with each other. I am asking what the $660.24 is for ? Again the amount of time you spent to send me a rude email and reply to my review could have been used to pick up the phone and call me to sort it out as obviously there is a misunderstanding. Also Business 101 - Customer is always right and should never be treated like this just to ask what i am being charged for.

T&M installed a new HVAC system for us and provide an ongoing maintenance service. Always professional and responsive, which isnt easy to find in the contractor business.

Excellent customer service to prioritize and address the customers need. Professional and knowledgable crew to service our oil furnace. Highly recommended.

Taylor Murphy was recommended to us and we have nothing but great things to say about them. Mark was very responsive to our needs (we didn’t realize what we were getting ourselves into with an ac system) and Joe and his team were in and out in two days and we were up and running with cool air by the end of the second day!

Everyone has been great. I have dealt with John. He has done great working on my furnace. Couple glitches but they came out and figured everything out. Thanks for all the time put into this project. Would not go to anybody else if I need any more work done... Good job!!!!

This is an honest company! They did an effective repair at a reasonable price on our gas furnace.They might have tried to sell us a new furnace but suggested that a repair might do the job. The estimate on a new furnace was far more reasonable than estimates given us by other companies. We have the highest regard for Taylor and Murphy, and will recommend and use them in the future.

So far so good. Called on a Friday, they returned the call as promised and will be out on Monday! Very nice on the phone and took time to listen. Despite my cell phone cutting out three times they were kind enough to call back.

Before we got started with Taylor & Murphy, we had seen a LOT of local oil companies marketing materials and found that Taylor & Murphy information spoke to us as new homeowners and they had reasonable prices. What we really like about them is that they took the time to answer all of our questions before we placed our first order, and have a variety of options for their customers. The technician who came out and performed maintenance on our burnerwas on-time, friendly, and efficient. Also, we appreciate that Taylor & Murphy keeps us up to date on energy efficiency tips as well as providing us with regular statements showing us where our account stands. Great to be using this trustworthy company.

Taylor & Murphy have been my oil service provider for a several years, and I have always liked their service. They were also the contractors I chose for a recent air-conditioning job and an oil to gas conversion work at my house. They have a great crew who are also very customer oriented. Mark Taylor gave me a great price and worked with me through the project. These guys are good !

Taylor & Murphy did an excellent job installing my new oil burner & hot water heater. They were professional, on time, their prices were competitive and took the time to explain everything to me. They completed my Mass Saves rebate and were very helpful.

Following work they did, the tenant in my property complained of more issues than I began with. When I called their manager for an explanation and to discuss the situation, they claimed there was a bigger problem and that the second floor of my house never had working heat to begin with. I asked the tenants if this was the case, they said there had been working heat. When I tried to discuss this with a manager at Taylor & Murphy, they refused to hear me out, and yelled at me: We are done doing business with you! No more business with you! Just pay the fee and we are done! Then he hung up. I have never had a business yell and hang up on me. I called another company and they indicated that Taylor & Murphy had installed the wrong size damper. I am very upset with the way Taylor & Murphy treated me as a customer and their work and service was unprofessional.

Mark and Wayne are very helpful, their prices are fair and the technicians have all been great, They installed two ac units in my older home a few years ago and they made sure everything was perfect . I just called them back to replace an old furnace. I highly recommend them.

Please avoid this company! They did the heating and cooling for our entire new construction about 1 year ago. As the vents were being placed, we expressed concern regarding the locations but were told we know what we are doing. We have had problems since the completion of the house with uneven heating and cooling throughout the house which has resulted in high gas and electric bills. We have called them multiple times over the last several months to come and take a look at the issues, but they keep putting us off. We rarely post reviews because we dont want to hurt a business, but this company is lacking in both expertise and customer service. Please beware.

I think Taylor & Murphy are tops.I have had the pleasure of their service for 29 years.Besides simply filling my tank with oil, they have been johnny on the spot for all matters having to do with my heating system, including the plumbing part of it since I heat with hot water. They have been remarkably responsive and prompt when Ive had an emergency. And always always always their work has been top notch.Several companies in the area repeatedly attempt to pull my business away from Taylor & Murphy by offering lower oil prices. But I have ignored these, especially notable in a time when fuel costs have risen so much.

Appalling service ethics. Made an appointment in October, they came out and looked at the job. Said they would order parts. 2 weeks went by, no call. We called them, they said they lost the order, but would order parts immediately. Made an appointment for mid-November. Day of the service we got a call saying they had to cancel our appointment because other customers needed their service more. We dont have heat, but other customers who also dont have heat took priority.I demanded to speak with a manager but the rude woman on the phone refused. Also refused to reschedule us. These people are not worth the time.

Taylor & Murphy is the only oil company with whom we have renewed a contract after its expiration. In earlier experiences, we just chose the company that offered the lowest price, since there was no other way to decide. However, the T&M technicians stayed the same from year to year, & that makes a huge difference to the quality of service. We are extremely pleased with the professionalism of their work & their work ethics.& their price is good too :)

Weve been using Taylor and Murphy as an oil company for over 20 years. We find them extremely reliable and dependable. Deliveries come on time without our having to call, and they are prompt in sending out a technician whenever we have a problem.

I have been using Taylor & Murphy for oil delivery, heating system maintenance and plumbing for the past few years. I did some research when I moved into the house and chose this company. It turned out that the house has been serviced by Taylor and Murphy since it was built. When there is a problem (which is thankfully infrequent), they are quick to respond and address the problem. Happy customer I am....

Dealt with 12 HVAC contractors trying to convert my house from oil to gas heat and get cooling done too. Had atrocious experience with all but Taylor & Murphy, hence why I picked them. Mark gets it. He educates you on what are the options, actually spends the time running calculations (most did not even bother) to make sure your equipment is just right, and is the 1st one to tell you what you shouldnt be replacing or wasting money on. Wish I found him 3 months earlier. Would have saved me a lot of new gray hair.

Worst experience with a company I’ve ever had. Won’t respond to voicemails, and quoted me a price $600 higher than anyone else. It seems like they only care about jobs for big new developments - not homeowners in their own area. Use them at your own risk.

Taylor & Murphy has been a great company to work with for our heating needs. Were thrilled with the service we receive and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Terrible company. Their initial price was 40% more than the competitors. When called and complained, they said they would give me 30c discount. They never sent any adjusted bill. I asked them to cancel the auto-delivery but they said my landlord had to tell them and I cant. Im paying the bill, not the landlord. They just auto-refilled the tank. Each tank ended up being more than $100 extra. Stay away at all costs.

I have been buying my heating oil and service plan from Taylor & Murphy for years because they are always prompt, considerate and are competitive on price. These days when you find that combination you stick with it.

Taylor & Murphy have been taking care of my heating oil, burner, boiler and plumbing needs for some time now. The oil drivers, service techs and plumbers are all highly skilled, polite, professional and a pleasure to work with.

Extremely rude on the phone. All I wanted was to set up a heating inspection.
