They know everything about all the appliances they sell and they are helpful when you have something breakdown and they let you know if it can be repaired or not.They also have refurbished appliances if you need something now and cannot afford something brand new. Smith Appliance is a locally owned WONDERFUL mom and pop type business. Very friendly and helpful. I spoke with one of the receptionists at Smith about getting a conversion kit for my Range/oven. She was professional, friendly, and kind. She quoted me $53.00 for the parts, and said they could order in in for the next day. A few minutes later, she called back and said that she discovered that they have a kit in stock, and I could come pick it up any time! When I arrived a few hours later to pick it up, I was shocked when she informed me it would be over $20.00 less than she had quoted me because they had figured out that they had a kit on hand that fit several models with a few extra parts, that should fit my unit, which was only $30.00 plus tax.Thanks so much to the staff at Smith Appliance!

My parents did some research for me on ranges available at Smith Appliances. They confirmed that they would deliver to the side of Columbia City where I live. When I went in to purchase the new range, the gal who helped me was courteous; however, when she had to ask the owner if they would deliver to the west side of Columbia City, the owner loudly said, I guess . . . but I dont like it! If they have a delivery range, I can understand if Im out of that range. If Im within that range, there shouldnt be a problem with it. Perhaps charging a fee for anything outside of a certain range would ameliorate the owners not liking it, but common courtesy and basic customer service should have kept her from treating me like she did. I still ordered the range and set up a delivery time but once I got home, I decided to cancel the order and take my business elsewhere. Whats too bad is that I appreciated what help I was getting, but the owner ruined that for her own business as well as her employees.

The team at Smith Appliance has always sold my family quality appliance at reasonable prices. They have outstanding customer service and even excellent service after the sale. I bought my washer there 8 years ago, after 8 years of no problems, it stopped draining on Sunday. I called Smith appliance Monday morning talked with Sasha and she and Kay gladly worked me in their busy schedule. Eli was at my house that same afternoon found the problem quickly and had my washer up and going again before I even got home from work that same day. I am so impressed and grateful for Smith Appliance and the entire crew. Thank you so much. I will always buy my appliances from Smith appliance!

Have been able to buy parts for both my clothes dryer and clothes washer, allowing myself to repair both of them on separate occasions. Also, remember recieving helpful tips from them on the repairs each time . On another occasion with a natural gas stove the repair was done through Smith Appliances and was happy with the services provided.

Usually find what Im looking for and if not someone is willing to help me find it.

An okay place but I have not had success acquiring a mattress that doesnt sag after a year. This is my 2ND mattress. First time was treated very nicely but this next time ...I dont know. Other decor pieces are available

We bought a new set of W/D and are totally happy with them! Great experience all around! We also brought in a former student of mine, an autistic young man, who is now living on his own to look at machines. They worked with us to help him purchase a washer and dryer he could afford, fit him right away into their already busy delivery schedule, and showed him how to use the machines. Nice people in and out service

15 years ago I bought all my appliances here. So when they needed replaced I thought I would try a big box store. So I bought a fridge because of price at a big box store. Mistake!! So I went back to Smiths and just had my new range and dishwasher delivered and installed. The guys were on time and absolutely wonderful. When I stopped in I did not have to hunt down a salesperson she was very helpful and I found what I needed and wanted very quickly. I will not be going anywhere else. Sometimes a tad cheaper is not always better..

This business was here to serve me instead of trying to get my money. Brian correctly guessed my washers issue AND told me how to fix it myself. They didnt get any of my money, but actually talked me out of spending $80 on a part I thought I needed but didnt! I will definitely be going back there when I need to make a purchase!

Great service. I have bought a fridge and I am shopping for a range and a dishwasher. They are very candid about appliance features. I have been fixing my washer myself and whenever I need a part they are very helpful even if it is a screw I have lost. The owner has saved me money several times by suggesting that I fix parts that fail often first which always has fixed the problem.

Had just the parts I needed to repair or dryer and at a fair price.

A very nice and small store. They were very accommodating with my purchases. I will do business with them in the future if I need other appliances.

I bought a washer from them a couple of years ago and it started making a noise. I called them for service and they showed up the same day to check it out. The repairman needed a part that they didnt have in stock. But he was back with the part in a couple of days. Good service as long as the item was purchased at Smith.

My oven stopped working and I suspected it was the igniter so I called Smith to see if they had a replacement in stock. They not only had it in stock, but they also tested the old one for me to confirm it was indeed the igniter. They also gave me advice for how to install the new one and I swapped it in and it worked great!

Over a period of many years, my husband and I spent many hundreds of dollars on appliances from Smith Appliance, and for the most part, everything we bought lasted a good long while with maybe a minor repair or two. Six years ago I again bought new appliances, and after only 3 or 4 years, my microwave (not a cheap one) bit the dust. Smiths tech checked it out and said it could not be repaired for much less than the cost of a new one....so, even though I was unhappy about the short life of this appliance, I bought another from Smith Appliance (with no offer to cut any kind of deal). A week ago my dishwasher (purchased from Sears) broke and flooded my kitchen. A call to Smith Appliance seeking their help left me furious. They would not come to look at it because they do not service Kenmore products. I was furious because this Kenmore DW was actually a Whirlpool appliance, and Smith advertises that they service Whirlpool appliances. Their loss....I had to purchase a new DW, and I did not purchase it from them. Im sure they could not care less, but they have seen and heard the last from me and any one who might ask for my opinion about where to purchase appliances.

Very rude staff. Mrs. Smith treated my wife very poorly. She was extremely rude and clearly did not want our business. We tried to order a top of the line dishwasher, however smith appliance was not interested in selling us anything except the model in stock. The owner seemed very inconvenienced and angry at the idea of us wanting something other than the floor model. We also had called ahead and took time off work to ask questions, but the owner took lunch during our appointment. The sales lady on the floor was very nice, however she was not able to discuss pricing or ordering. I truly feel sorry for the staff who seem to want to help, however have their hands tied in a terrible business. I would love to buy local, but with high prices, terrible customer service and limited selection; I cant see why anybody would want to do business here.

We were able to get replacement parts for our dish washer and have had very good service for all 5 appliances we have gotten in the past 15 years.

Unfortunately smith appliance is not a store that I would recommend to people. As a customer, and a lifelong Warsaw resident, I truly wanted to buy my appliances local and keep my money in town. But Smith Appliance makes it difficult. They are not friendly, overpriced and could truly use some fresh takes on many customer service aspects. We had them out to look out our fridge once and for a simple thawing of our water line they charged us $80---very very over charged for the work that was done. Plus we bought the fridge from them! Will not shop at Smith again until they change some of their policies and drastically improve all areas of their customer service. If you dont want to buy at the big stores like Lowes, etc., check out Buttermore Appliances in Auburn, IN. They are a family owned appliance store, similar to Smiths, but they wont let you down in prices, honesty, integrity and customer service.

Smith Appliances saved the day today when our freezer quit working. As old as it was, we werent interested in trying to repair it. We called, explained what we needed, and they delivered exactly what we needed before we lost all of our frozen food!
