I have been savoring the joys of this store for many years now. Werner Paul and his team are superb -- extremely solicitous, considerate and informative, and professionals through and through. Any matter concerning my precious Leica camera or lens was considered and addressed swiftly and thoroughly -- to my complete satisfaction. A photographer could not ask for more, and I remain grateful.

Came in to get some 35mm film. they had a good selection of film at reasonable prices (2 rolls of Portra 160 for ~$21) and they had a great selection of new and used cameras that i couldnt afford even if i dreamed about itthe people working there are awesome as theyre super duper helpful and friendly. they even invited to demo some of their cameras and their insane bincoulars!would recommend

Both in terms of the ambience of the store and the expertise and courteousness of the staff, the Leica Store DC fits the Leica brand. Top notch in every respect. Whether or not youre in the market for a Leica, if youre interested in photography at its finest, its worth stopping in here.

I went in just to window shop. The two working behind the desk there were beyond helpful with my questions, so much so that I ended up buying a strap for my M3 that I had just bought (that they also generously checked out for me). It was an absolute pleasure.

It was my first time to visit a Leica store and hold Leica cameras, and the employee there was more than patient enough to teach me how to use the camera and even take a few test shots. The full manual shooting style of these cameras along with the price range were not for me, but I certainly enjoyed my experience. They had a little photography class going on in the other room. All in all, with timeless cameras and a great staff, this is a great place to slow down and learn about photography in a fast-paced city. I didnt buy anything, but would definitely go back.

This store gave me an amazing first impression of the company. Great staff that are happy to talk even if youre not spending thousands of dollars, which is a nice feeling. The store hosts free events and a loaner program for their cameras, which is exceptional.

I have excellent experience with Leica, but have moved to NIKON 800 (36 MP). But the NIKON black and whites were not crisp. So I explored the DC Store and tested the Leica Monochrome 246. Werner Paul, store manager, personally assisted me -- even posed for portraits. He also helped me with Leicas buy back. I can use my existing Leica glass. On my second trip to consider the purchase Werner Paul worked with me encouraged me to try it outside and in Selenium toning mode -- The camera is stunning in performance and terrific for street photography... very unobtrusive. Werner Paul and the entire staff really made the difference in bringing me back to Leica!!

Helpful and courteous staff. Happily humored my casual interest in their cameras. The store looks like a product museum but all the cameras are available to play with.

The staff here are excellent. I recently bought a televid kit here and they were very effective in helping me repack it as small-plane carry-on.

Not really any downside, theyre close, you can drop stuff off for servicing, and they have special events. They have a side room with a gallery that rotates periodically, they have very knowledgeable staff, and they do schedule photo walks with known professionals from time to time. No Leica camera needed to participate either. I saw a guy with a crown graphic field camera the last time I went out.Leicas are expensive, be it their point and shoots, rangefinders, medium format, binoculars, or spotting scopes. All of it carries a way above average price tag. That said, the optical quality really does live up to the hype, and the service is excellent.

I walked into the store to inquire about some cameras. However, we were not even acknowledged or asked to be helped even when the store was empty. We walked around to take a look at their selections of new and pre-owned, but will not be coming back.

Leica stores are always good for a visit to their galleries. The staff at this one is very helpful and they will let you try out any of the cameras.

RUDE!!!~! I guess im not in the right CLASS of people to come to this store. I didnt get a hello or a how are you when I walked in I got looked at like I was low class trash.

I went to this store since I was visiting DC. I was expecting very snobbish service since its Leica and you know they cost a lot of money and I unfortunately dont have that much. Surprisingly the visit was very good. Spent lengthy amount of time with the associate named Shannon. She let me try out the cameras and showed me how to operate them. She gave me a couple gifts for my visit and I walked out with a nice leica shirt. Overall, pleasant visit and would visit again if I drop by DC again... Just need to save up for those nice cameras.

I bought Leica D-Lux 6 at Washington DC store in Oct 2014,used it during my India trip in Dec 2014,had great photos.In March 2015 when I tried to use it in DC, the ON/OFF button started getting stuck.I left it at Washington DC Leica store for repair in April.It has been over a month and no information or call from the store about the repair status in spite of I calling them twice in the last week.I am very disappointed with a camera like LEICA having problem with in six months and the service provided by the store is of even greater disappointment.Yashoda Rao
