The first Dr Martens (exclusive) store I’ve been to in my life, although I own several pairs myself.Super friendly staff and excellent collection of shoes. Also got to see two new items I never knew existed - backpacks and shoes for toddlers. All in all, a great experience :-)

ROBERT!!! So.. I am a Doc Martens fanatic- one of the few things I find to be worth the splurge worthy price tag. I found beautiful, limited edition, Jadons in the cherry arcadia at another retail store- took them home and realized I bought a UK 8, unisex fit- which meant they felt bigger than my other pairs. I cant find these shoes anywhere- nowhere! But I didnt want to keep shoes that were too big in fear I wouldnt wear them as much as Id like. I went to the G-town store to see what a size down would feel- Libras are indecisive. This lovely bloke, Robert, greeted me and even though Sundays are one of their busier days- helped me with every concern I had!! He put extra soles in and assured me that if I decided to keep them it would work out nicely. As I said- I bought these from another retailer and was willing buy a new pair from their location if I thought I would be better off with something else. Robert owns 64 pairs of Docs himself and really wanted me to keep the rare shoe as long as I felt comfortable and gave me lots of advise from his personal and professional expertise. He said I want you to keep these if possible so lets see what I can do. Rang me up for a whole $10 and sent me on my way as he let more customers inside (line going down the block due to limited capacity). Thank you my friend!!!

Super friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. My daughter and I got 2 pairs. The shoes we wanted were sold out online and this store confirmed they had them. As we enter store, COViD instructions were shared and followed. In and out- easy. Will be back.

I had an amazing experience here today!!!! the employees were all so sweet and the lady with the purple bangs literally made my day. she helped me pick out the cutest platform docs with polka dots and i’m so so happy with my purchase. all of the other employees were awesome too and very lgbtq+ friendly. can’t wait to come back here😁

The customer service here is just phenomenal. I wanted to receive an exchange for my jadons, and the manager was so sweet about allowing me to come in about a month later for an exchange. Every time I emailed or called them to discuss my situation, they were overly accommodating and were always willing to help out. Also, I appreciated the covid precautions this store took, which made me feel more comfortable in the store. Highly recommend stopping by if youre in georgetown!

Aimee and Kelly were extremely helpful! They couldnt have made the experience better, and catered to our every need in the store. They told us interesting historical facts and stories about Docs while also maintaining a safe environment. Couldnt have had a better experience! They are also really good salesman...maybe a little too good * 2 pairs of docs later...*

In town to from Texas and thought we would go to Georgetown for the day. I love doc martens and have a black pair which I wear almost everyday. I wanted to get a pair of white ones, Aimee helped us out and was so so helpful and patient and even showed me a new way to tie my doc martens! Needless to say we left the store with a new pair of white Jadon boots and three pairs of new laces. I cant wait to break them in and come back next time were in D.C!! 10/10 recommend to get a pair from here!

The customer service here was incredible. I, unfortunately, did not get the name of the person that helped my partner and I but I believe they were a manager and went above and beyond to accommodate us and get the proper sizes! got the sickest pair of white 1460 boots. They’re also doing a great job with Covid precautions. Definitely worth the trip!

The customer service here is incredible! I went in to get my first pair of boots and Aimee was so helpful. She went above and beyond to help me figure out what style and fit was the best for me. All the workers were extremely patient and warm and overall I had a great experience!

This location gives me weird vibes. There are some nice associates here but I never feel fully comfort being in the store.A few weeks ago a returned some boots. I paid with ApplePay which skews your actual credit card number. I found it odd that even though Hey, wasup acknowledged that he’s aware that that occurs he had to go and check with the manager in order for me to return the item to the credit card that I used. What really made me uncomfortable and made me feel like I was being profiled was that he said he was going to keep my original receipt ALTHOUGH there was other accessories that I had purchased on there.I went today to purchase some Dr. Martens abs was going to use my UNiDAYS discount. I already put the shoes in my car prior and knew the discount worked for the shoes. He told my I couldn’t use my UNiDAYS discount for those shoes. I think I will just opt for online going forward.

Horrible experience. Shop elsewhere. Extremely rude. All around bad customer service. All but called me a liar. I’m also writing the BBB. And calling corporate office. I’ve never been so insulted. And I never write reviews, But this was beyond.

The people who work here are so nice and helpful - they put a pair of shoes on hold for me over the phone and were super friendly when I came into the store to pick them up. I had an outdated gift card that they were able to work into the system and they were very quick and patient. I love the pair of boots I got too :) Thanks guys!

Aimeé and Kelly were phenomenal on our visit. I decided to surprise my wife with a trip to Dr. Martens to buy matching boots for our 3rd anniversary (traditional gift is leather and she likes matching fits). Kelly greeted us at the door and was helpful enough to get us started while juggling multiple customers during a surprisingly busy mid-week rush. After leaving us to browse Aimeé came over to help us and was super cheerful and game for us to try on anything. We probably tried on at least 16 different pairs between us and they were very encouraging for us to find the right pair. Despite having to go up and down those basement stairs to get us different sizes and to accommodate numerous mind changes they stayed super upbeat and jovial. Rachel you did good work with this group, good luck in Portland!

I had the best experience at this store. Customer service was better than I honestly have ever experienced. This lady that worked there predicted my every request, got me fitted to probably 10 different boots before I finally found a perfect option for me. Impressed! Thanks for such a good experience! Worth the money and definitely with going into the store. I thought I wanted a Vonda boot, I walked out with a 10 eyelet boot instead.

Have come twice to this store and cant say enough nice things about the associate Jesus and the manage. In different occasions they were really attentive amd offer the best customer experience there is. Cant wait to come back again!

This has been a long overdue post and review but this store is GREAT! I was helped by 4 different store associates, whom i shall name: Opal, Miracle, Stanley and Rachel! I was purchasing a birthday gift for a friend, and they helped me purchase the gift, along with some cool accessories too! They were all extremely patient with my indecisive self. They gave my either educated insight and expertise in they product i was getting along with styling and care suggestions! The staff absolutely rocks and they Im sure they are equally as amazing! I hope they are still around once things open back up in the near future. If anyone of the aforementioned store associates are helping you, youre in beyond great and superior hands! What others said about the horrible customer service is real. They pick and choose the customers whom they want to be nice to. I saw another customer being treated with politeness and patience, but I was shown attitude for even asking for shoes of my size. I will not come to support prejudice.

Got a pair of 1461s from this store and Rachel took the time to explain all the nuances between the different leathers and was extremely helpful in getting me the right fit, size and model! A+++ Service at this store, on top of a wonderful selection of models including many limited editions. Highly recommend this store, thanks again Rachel!!!

The store was very clean and the staff was very attentive. Stanley was very knowledgeable and even suggested other shoes that I may like. I didnt end up making a purchase; however, when I am ready to purchase I will definitely come back to this location.

Went shopping there today for dress shoes with doc attitude. They had just the thing. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location and shop were amazing. Sales lady let me try 3 different sizes in 3 different styles to ensure I was happy with my choice.

I know, I know you can buy them online, but I wanted to make sure the fit was just right. I am so glad I came to this store. David greeted me as soon as I came in and helped me choose just the right pair of boots to buy. He even brought out styles he thought I might like when I was having trouble deciding. He was definitely very knowledgeable Dr Martens and how to care for them. I left knowing that I got exactly what I want. Cant recommend enough. The BIGGEST drawback is it location and parking, but a trip to get a pair of leather Dr Martens is worth even that irritation!Thanks!

Terrific -- my go-to shoe store in D.C. Super helpful staff (worked with Corey most recently) -- knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, & fast. Ive bought several terrific pairs of shoes here -- mostly business shoes -- that have all been perfect. Recently I had to exchange a pair I bought from another store and they took care of it here quickly & easily, and, best of all, got me into a perfect pair of shoes!

Ive been fortunate enough to have been helped by Rachel twice now. She is extremely sweet, knowledgeable, professional and patient. Will definitely come back.

I usually don’t leave many reviews but the experience that I had at this store with the lovely sales associate needs to be recognized.I live in southern Virginia and have been having really bad ankle pain (I rolled my ankle and I also overpronate) and I’ve tried so many different shoes to try to help with the pain and none had worked until I tried a pair of doc boots (1460 alt) two weeks ago. I knew that I needed to invest in some more so I can rotate which ones I wear so they don’t wear out at quickly, but I have a very finicky and hard to fit foot with all of its problems as well as it being wide. The sales associate that helped me (Rachel Martini, she gave me her card for any other questions since I live a ways away that I can call her!) was so patient, informative, understanding, and extremely nice.I tried on probably 8 different styles to find which fit the best on me, and she even suggested going up in size for the width and adding one of their inserts and it fit PERFECTLY. I was in there for probably an hour and a half because I drove 2 1/2 hours there and wanted to make sure I was getting the right shoes for my ankle support and Rachel was there offering assistance the entire time! I ended up getting two pairs of Jadon max boots (one with spikes that had just come in that were STUNNING, and a pair of just normal black for work) a keychain, 2 inserts, and a set of yellow laces! Rachel was the most helpful sales associate I’ve had anywhere since I’ve been dealing with these foot issues, and this is coming from someone who is also in shoe sales so I know that it can be grueling sometimes when someone can’t seem to make up their mind after hours of help but again she was so understanding and so helpful and even offered other options for when I come back later in the year for the newer collections! I will most definitely be bringing all of my business when buying docs to this particular location as long as Rachel is there! I will be back in a couple of months!

Is a small store with a large selection of boots and shoes. We have received an excellent friendly service from the staff! We ended up getting 2 pairs of boots and we are looking forward to come back here in the future for any shoe and boot needs.

Well we were dumb enough to wear sandals and canvas sneakers on a night when it was monsooning in DC. Doc Martens had never even been on my radar before, but it offered salvation from trench-foot, so we wandered in.I was skeptical at first--the chunky shoes didnt appeal to me at all. But the staff were so knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic about Docs, that I gave them a chance. And once I had them on my feet, an obsession was born.Even though they pinched like hell on the top of my foot, I was determined to walk out with a pair of those damn boots. With the staffs help, I was able to pick a pair of Docs that Im in love with, which wore in exactly as they said they would, and I havent taken them off since.Get a pair of Docs--seriously!

Small store, but great customer service. They even carry larger sizes. I usually wear size 14 Nike and they had my size for every style I wanted to try on. I would go back but, its a two and a half hour plane ride.

My pediatrist Dr. J. F. Marten recommended me a pair of shoes, which I was to purchase with his prescription. Upon arriving at this location, the staff pretended to be very confused and annoyed when I asked them to exchange my pair for ones in another colour, as they said they had never heard of ol Jim Marten. After playing along with their fun game, I began to get frustrated. Eventually the manager, a stout woman in her 30s bearing the name tag Shirley, informed me my Birkenstocks would NOT be exchanged at this location. I worry that this store does not even carry a pediatric license..... Will do my shoe shopping elsewhere from now on.
