First and last time. Went before 10am thinking I was going to get fresh doughnuts like what is advertised in the pictures. Instead doughnuts were gotten out of a silver fridge and felt oddly cold instead of fresh. At $4.00 a doughnut, extremely disappointed. One doughnut looked liked it had mold- it had black spots and it wasn’t consistent like it may have been part of the dough. Total waste of money.

So many neat flavors, it’s hard to choose. However, I’m a nutella s’mores gal all the way!!! Love this place and the guy working there was so incredibly nice. He told me he used to be in consulting, got his MBA, then went to culinary school... what a story.

Picked up a cinnamon roll and doughnuts Sunday afternoon at Union Market and they were just alright. Dough seemed over baked/stale, didn’t taste fresh.

Really delicious donuts! yes, they are a bit pricier but i feel better about supporting a local business, if it means paying the extra price!

Delicious donuts of all flavors, incredibly soft and pillowy. When we ordered ours, one of our donuts was wrong, but they gave us the correct one for free after, and we were able to keep the mixed up one. Very friendly staff.

I never get tired of these doughnuts 😩 (and that says a lot since I work here and am around them all day LOL)Even just the simple vanilla glazed one is a star compared to any similar doughnut you can find elsewhere, but the unique flavors here are what really hook you. There are all-year classics like brown butter glazed and créme brulee, of course, but there are always new seasonal flavors to try. E.G. - piña colada, hello dolly, fluffernutter, etc. (summer) and sweet potato pie, apple streusel, blackberry jam, etc. (fall).I also think its huge that the gluten-free Fridays also get creative and classic rotating flavors. Plus, those are made on completely separate equipment, so its Celiac safe!! Hard to find that in fresh baked goods 😍Even if you arent big on doughnuts, there are take-and-bake cinnamon roll packs (freaking heavenly), super tasty coffee, and a really nice variety of fresh brewed tea 🤤If youre in DC (or have a car), you should ABSOLUTELY come grab a doughnut (or a whole box)!

Donuts are really good but the pricing is a bit outrageous. A large variety of flavors and I like how much it changes throughout the seasons. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

Meh. It was okay. They were closing soon after my purchase and I wondered what they were going to do with ALL the donuts that were left after closing?!? I thought I bought the last of one donut and then a whole new tray appeared...! So then my next question was- how fresh are these treats?!? Then I finally got to indulge, after I ate my dinner of course! And I was like... hmm, meh, hmmph, I guess... this was the brown butter donut... it was missing like, the whole like, melt in your mouth, messy face, make you drool a little bit, affect. Like, it was aaight... but not $3 delicious. Maybe if they use organic or at least non gmo ingredients and such then maybe Ill be more okay with the $3 factor, but it still didnt knock my socks off. I still have a key lime one to taste... I am saving for breakfast. So we shall see.

The cashier was very unfriendly. Each time a customer stopped by, she acted like they weren’t there..(so definitely no “hello” or “how can I help you”). If they asked a question, she seemed very irritated like she didn’t want to help/ talk to anyone. I’m not sure if it was an off day, but I no longer wanted to try donut and won’t be coming back.

I came really early to Union market. Honestly, I didnt think I would find this to be open, but to my surprise it was. They have an extensive selection of donuts and you can tell the freshness. The person who helped me out was nice and offer me a sample of the coffee, which I passed because of the taste. I bought a blueberry glazed and a cherry blossoms donut for my sister.

Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts is a better deal especially for the price. Not sure about the hype, very disappointed.

District Doughnut is one of the most famous doughnut brands in Washington, D.C. if not the most famous. As they have evolved, they offer dozens of different doughnuts from sweet to savory (yep, think onion and chive). My favorite is their nutella or straight up chocolate glazed doughnuts. Two things to note: 1) Price: Its expensive. DC locals are used to steep prices, but it still gets me how much these doughnuts costs. They are good, but not worth an arm and leg, and 2) Staff: I tend to find their staff friendly, but not at the Union Market location. Ive been several times and they have been short, rude, and give off the vibe that they just hate you for coming to their shop.
