Weve been shopping at the Chocolate Moose for almost 3 decades. Why are you closed? If its because youre considered a non-essential business, then I need an explanation for Walmart and Target. We sincerely miss everything about this store, especially the hand-made fabulous chocolates!

Looking for a fun gift or hilarious card? Do you find New Yorker cartoons hilarious and political jokes always in season? This is the place! I always go there for the best cards for my friends and family (big selection), and they always have amazing little joke gifts, as well as creative and nice gift options for people that are hard to buy for.

This is a great place to get high quality novelty gifts and decor. I cant go inside without getting a laugh...and a cringe. But I always walk out with a great find!

I go here for my event planning needs, balloons, bulk candies and decorations.Great prices and the place is very organized, costumer service is amazing. Employees have a great product knowledge of all the items they carry. If I can give more than 4 I will give them a 10 star!!!

This place is trying to do too much. While Im sure there could possibly be a way to juggle a chocolate shop, a card section, a jewelry section, a travel section, and little trinkets all under one small roof in an elegant way, this place feels like a very fragmented experience. I feel like the only time Id buy something here is if I was searching for a white elephant gift.

Charmingly odd selection of goofy stuff and fine clothing, accessories, and jewelry. Staff all seem to work there cuz they love the place.

I was really surprised to find a toy/gift shop with so much soul, in the middle of this area. The selection was really outstanding, and I had no problems finding gifts and cards for everyone on my list!

I work nearby, so Ive been to the Moose several times since I wrote my first, very clipped review. I do think this is still THE place to buy nick-nacks and silly greeting cards. If you need a white elephant gift, this is the place to come. However, Ive been less than impressed with the attitude of the staff in my last couple visits.I went in and bought an Enviro-Sac bag a while back. The girl at the check out counter asked if I wanted a bag. I giggled, since the only thing I was buying was a bag. Uh, no I dont want a bag for my bag... She was not amused. Not sure how you can work in a place like this and not have a sense of humor, but apparently its possible.On another trip, I asked about a particular Christmas tree ornament that was hanging on a display. I wanted to buy it and it was the last one in the store, so one of the employees went to the back to get the box for it. By the time she got back with the box, I had changed my mind and chosen a different ornament. How could I resist? This place will give anyone ADD. I apologized to her and said that Id changed my mind and wanted to go with another one and she rolled her eyes as she all but slammed the ornament (in its box) back on to the display.Again, its a fun place to come because of the product on the shelves, but dont expect stellar customer service (or even a smile) when you do.

I love this store. Its perfect for finding politically incorrect or hysterical (depending on your leaning here) charged cards that are just about perfect and en pointe in the DC metro area. I love that you can get anything from Bush dum gum to make your own legwarmer kits at this store. This is one of my favorite places to hit for odds and ends to send to that person you want to know youre thinking of them for a special occasion but they seem to have everything under the sun they could possibly need. Chances are they wont need what youll find, but theyll love it!

I love this place. My go to for cards, and for wacky gifts. The jewelry, chocolate, etc are a bit expensive, but youre paying for curation.
