Bolling Air Force Base Commissary is theMilitary grocery store for active, reserve,& veterans. No empty shelves in there ofany kind, beautifully arranged vegetable stands, fresh & frozen items, householdProducts and plenty of goodies, like ice.cream and other desserts! Customer serviceIs excellent! Prices very reasonable.
Small but plentiful store. Staff was helpful in several areas especially self check out with register issues. Also had help with locating an item that had not been off loaded. Great shopping experience.
Banannas never look good. The produce can use a uplift. The milk (2percent) expired date can go further out than just one week.
Always a great place to shop. Clean, organized, friendly staff!
Really good experience at the self check out with the attendant. A warehouse worker looked for an item for me and took time to open boxes coming in on the truck. The self svc register counters really do need wiping down after each customer and the keypads.
Commissary was small but then again its not a huge base. Employees were friendly and helpful. They had a little bit of everything. They have a very impressive seafood counter. I couldnt believe the selection and quality. Not what I expected in a small commissary.
Good prices—thats why I go there.
Awesome prices with, exceptional Customer Service by staff .
I think the new manager is working on this store to better accommodate all us. No fun having to go off base to get dated products and fresh fruits.
Expired items on the shelves, low fresh groceries quality and not impressive variety. Sushi is top notch and hopefully the new management will turn things around!
Great customer service. Well stocked.
Open to federal government employees!!! Yippee, they have great meat deals.
Its smaller than most Air Force base Commissaries Ive been too. They also dont carry a lot of products. The employees are quite nice. Some have conversations and others just speak and thank you for coming.
Its just a decent commissary
Awesome Customer Service as always..
Not bad. A little small for the area but very convenient for those who live on base.
Typical commissary.Taking 1-star off due to the lack of Hispanic food in the store.
Nice and clean people helpful
Not a cheap as we think, it is the same price if we went to another store and brought it with taxes lol.
A military commissary. Really needs to be modernized.
Pleasant experience and they had everything I needed.
Boling Commissary has been out of Utz Potatoe Chips for months the shelf has been empty. Also the cooler up front has been out of the orange Mango fruit drink for months it is well stocked with other ones even double up on those no matter what time of day I go in the store no Orange Mango.
Great selection and staff
Has the best rotisserie chicken and tuna salad! I do 80% of my grocery shopping there. The commissary is lacking on fresh fruits and vegetables though.
The produce is subpar at best, it looks half rotten when sitting out and goes bad within a couple days. Constantly out of stock on popular food items. Prices are not competitive on many items.
Great job, supporting people living on Base!!
Very good sushi
One of my favorite store to shop when Im in the DMV.
The produce is always rotten. I went to fort belvoir commissary and was shocked to find good fresh produce.
The worst commissary in the area. I drive to Belvoir just to avoid going here. Disgusting, rude employees, never in stock of things I actually need, rotted produce, expired foods. Stay away.
Good selection. Plus unlike The rest of DC, you don’t have to pay for parking
Enjoyed shopping in well stocked store. Thanks for a vet. 🙃🙏❤️😷
They are recovering well from COVID buying frenzy but tough to keep continuous supply of fresh meats. Great selection of fruits and veggies and seafood... and the deli and bakery are back to normal ops. Good selection on frozen foods and most other stuff (short supply of some cleaning products, pasta and flour). All the self checkout kiosks are back up and running with properly marked distance stickers to maintain distances. Normal checkout clerks and baggers all wearing masks and gloves and the place is clean. Be sure to wear a mask, since it is required to enter.... better than all other retailers in the DC area where that is still optional. Not an option here... Maybe the military customer base just understands how important it is to take care of one another.
Always excellent and courtest.
Andrews has fresher selections in produces and JBAB has expired stuff on shelves. I now only come here I need something quick or try to get something when I dont feel like driving 30 mins to shop... Sad really cause the people there are helpful and nice but it seems as its not being ran how it should be. Hopefully it will change when the Air Force takes over but they do have a lot of work to do at that base.
Nice store, organized well. Prices are fair. Smaller than other commissaries in the area. Overall a good resource.
Great prices!
Good selection of groceries and fresh produce at good prices.
This commissary needs to be updated in a lot of different ways. I have issues where the baggers were expecting a higher tip regardless of how many bags they actually complete sometimes I go with WIC checks and expect me as a low income military to get done at 10: $15 tip? Most of the food is past there do they and the prices are insanely high compared to regular stores right outside the base.
Quick and convenient. Nothing was out of stock
Always have what I need or want when I go. This is my go to grocery store. Side note: more of a meat selection as far as sizes of cuts would be great.
Friendly staff and the most polite and friendly checker outer guy named Anthony!!! So kind very time I go into the JBAB commissary produce SUCKS and its very outdated
They typically have delicious fresh fruits and vegetables and a great selection of meats.
Bowling is good for not being crowded and having a good stock of what you need. what they need to do is learn how to update their website so that you dont get there and find out because they got a note posted on the door instead of posting it on their website which is what most people use before going to the store.their customer service reps need to work on their interpersonal skills as well.
Multiple missing items not restocked!
Good prices
Pleasant greeter working tonight checking access privileges and handing out supplies to ensure our safety. Thanks much Team DECA JBAB!
They have a hard time keeping things in stock and you can smell the seafood counter when you walk in the store.
Nice little Commissary
Relax shopping 🛍 everyday!👍
Almost never crowded and low prices all around. Produce was fresh and plentiful. I dont come here often since I live 45 minutes away but when I do come, I never have any complaints.
Great commissary. On Par for most commissaries.
GREAT EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME I VISIT.
Horrible seafood smell today.
Very clean, well-organized, great parking, and friendly staff.
Great place to shop if you are military affiliated. Products are slowly returning to shelves.
It has all the necessary foods for my family, but it is missing some organization and many of the foods my family would like to have. The produce could be better, as well. Over all, though, the commissary is convenient with helpful workers. Ill continue to use it for my weekly shopping trips.
Great prices and friendly staff. It almost has the feel of a neighborhood market. The hours are reasonable compared to other military commissaries. There is a lack of certain products, but there is more of a diverse collection compared to other commissaries. There is also a hot bar section where you can get ready-made foods and sandwiches.
I wish they were bigger and carried more vegetarian and vegan items. The hours are a little odd. 8-7 from M,T,Wand F but Thursday its 8-8 which is super weird. Saturday its 8-6 and Sunday 8-5. All and all its an okay place not horrible.
Best Sweet Tea Ive found in the DC area! I grew up in MS, 3 hrs from baton rouge, so you know I know whats good. The catfish was AMAZING, and their green beans are to die for. Yall, this is so.so.so!!!! Worth the visit. Family, faith, and some of the best blessed food Ive had while being in the DC area. Dont let the looks fool you, give them a shot.
Vegetables and fruits was not fresh and over priced. Prices was more than regular grocery stores. Military is not getting the support on better prices. Seafood dept. and meat departments does consider the facts military families and retirees income does not keep up with the cost of living. Help!
ALWAYS out of EVERYTHING!! I went today to buy lasagna noodles. What grocery store runs out of lasagna noodles!! I dont think Ive ever been to this store when they had everything I needed. The worst commissary I have ever been to. Two stars for nice deli people and baggers.
Nice, small, clean and not to busy. Prices a little higher than Andrews AFB.
For Military Members Great Selection
Its a commissary, but its one of the smallest and most run-down ones Ive visited. Kudos for the solar panels that double as covered parking outside, but the inside could use some attention now.
Good selection without the mass of people
Love this little commissary. Just the right amount of people and lots of parking. Has everything I need to be so small. Customer service is great and lots of registers open to keep the list is moving.
Getting better all the time. Thankful its available. Prices are still very high on certain items so we buy those off base. Having more than just name brand items helps lower our grocery bill on most items. (Wish the self checkout was more updated (less weight sesitive) allowing you to load groceries after scanning, before payment.)
It is an ok grocery store, produce is decent but always check expiration dates as a few times I accidentally purchased expired items. They are not very well stocked and it has gotten worse since the pandemic.
Horrible! So the workers get paid to do absolutely nothing, the produce section has rotten fruits and veggies. The meat section needs to be cleaned . Counters needs to be wiped down and floors needs to be mopped under the shelves.
1st time great
Nice and cozy. Just right for buy. Best C in NCR.
Rules are rules, just because someone is a regular doesnt constitute to break rules by not checking the id card. It was my first time, i understand you have to check, but than be equal of checking everyones and not just who you think should off
Update: They continued to reorganize. Never been better.Customer service is great! Always clean. But everything is all over the place. There is a bunch of racks everywhere with random goods. So if you can’t find something in its respective place it may be on one of the racks around the store. So it’s your standard base commissary. But everything can be out of place. Don’t know what’s up with that.Trick if they don’t have what you want, you can request it.
Good customer service, well stocked, and open every day reasonably late (7pm weeknights except Thursdays, when its open till 8pm). Also, I love the covered parking, with solar panels mounted on each roof!
Great place to stop to grab a quick lunch. The deli sandwiches are great.
Conveniently located on the base where I live and I like most of the staff. The store itself is poorly stocked and whoever orders for their inventory clearly doesnt order enough because many items are not stocked all the time. They have junk food galore but always run out of the healthy foods. That needs to change! I love the commissary on both Fort Belvoir and Fort Myer but I dont like the drive there.
During this pandemic, this commissary has been the Go-to for produce! Always stocked with the items we are looking for.
Great customer service
Not a very big organic produce section. There deli sandwiches are a good deal for lunch
Great prices but limited variety. Still a bang for the buck.
Great place, friendly people! There are very few items that I have found that arent significantly lower than the civilian stores, and the others that werent were the same price. Great value, and an excellent building and cleanliness!
Great commissary with a lot of options. Downside is that the sandwich options at the deli are limited. I’ve seen some really good commissary delis this is a basic one.
They have what i need during this pandemic however. Its hit or miss for beef.
The staff here was always amazing. I never had any complaints from when I was a vendor. Not allowed to shop, but thats understandable. I had a pass to get on the base and merchandise the store. Great place to work.
I love going to the different commissary. But, JBAB store okay. There were a lot of items that were not on the shelves. But, I know in heart there going to do better.
I was on a mission... I picked up a cake for an admirals Flag party. Didnt see the whole store, I went straight to the bakery and left with a 25 pound, $100 cake. Cookies looked good, should have bought some. Baked goods were calling my name, but I ignored them. Parking is a little bit of a hassle because of construction right now, but I utilized my authority of cake transportation duty and parked right by the door. Minivan parked, hazzards flashing and all. Theres a short Spanish speaking man who works there. Hes cool, we acknowledged each other and he gave me a whats up nod and we fistbumped. Great experience for 2 minutes worth of my life. I do recommend.
Great prices; helpful, personable staff. Generally a great selection. Do you need a good list of bread for dinner: sorry, not hear.
No DiGornio individual pizzas for the last two weeks. No Gold Bond Green for four weeks. No Allegra Gel caps for three weeks. Only two PF Change meals. Stocks have a lot to be desired. If you really need something the commissary is not convenient, shop somewhere else.
Theyve got a little bit of everything and decent prices. Aldi if still cheaper, but its good.
Its a nice bolling place and my dad told me he used to go there most of the time
Really great place, food is cheap, employees are nice. They even have baggers. Top notch
This commissary is older and much dirtier than similar size commissaries on military instillations. Dont expect great service for to the sheer amount of customers visiting the commissary on a daily basis. One positive appreciate is that this commissary is open on Mondays while the majority of commissaries are closed on this day across the country!
It is a nice commissary with some really good people there. I just wish they would quit moving everything around just about the time I figure out where it is. The deli is nice and the sandwiches are good.
Decent prices and good availability of products. Quite a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options. The staff members that stock shelves are rather helpful, but the produce tends to be lacking overall.
Go with my neighbor. She has excess to the Commissary. Love going out with her. She is 83 years young.
Its clean and well stocked and the workers are knowledgeable and friendly.
Small and dont really offer anything
Permanent sale on Oreos? Ill take it.
Deli makes great sandwiches and paninis. Be careful when buying produce Ive bought moldy products multiple times. There is a bulk section in the back which is nice. Theres also a self check out and if in uniform you get priority.
