Its a black owned business 🙌🏾 The owner was very respectable and knowledgeable about the community and the store. As well as the products he sell. I order a few things today for my students and coworkers. I must say everything we order was outstanding🤞🏾❣ I will be back again❣

This place is great! The ice cream is fantastic, the food is good, the environment is nice and the service is great and respectful! The prices are really good too! Its a great black owned business in an underserved community that give the neighborhood a great lift! The children love the ice cream!! Support this place people!!!

Capital City Creamery is more than an ice cream shop. Its a start-up with a mission. After driving to Eastern Market on Capitol Hill for ice cream, the owners wanted an ice cream shop East of the River in their native Congress Heights. They found a shop at the corner of MLK Ave SE and Parkland Place SE and the rest is history.The shop is managed by the nephew of the owners, Leon. Hes the kindest person and a joy to chat with. Hes passionate about the business his family built and wants it to spread joy in the community. It has and heres why:1) Ice cream: Their ice cream is from Hersheys and they have a wide variety of flavors from your standard vanilla to more unique flavors like apple pie. Usually, Im a chocolate chip cookie dough guy, by Leon introduced me to my new favorite flavor- Oatmeal Cookie Craving (it has caramel sauce, chocolate flakes, and oatmeal cookie crumbles in brown sugar cinnamon ice cream). The scoops are generous and they offer four different cone types (I recommend the waffle cone). The prices are reasonable.2) Food: Beyond food, they have other food options. My favorite is their deep fat fried Oreos. Leon is always switching up the Oreo flavors.3) Space: Its a small ice cream shop so most people get their ice cream to go, but there is a space by a large window where you can sit.4) Story: When you walk in, by the ATM, read their story from a magazine clipping. Its inspiring.Capital City Creamery is a must-visit when in Congress Heights!

I always saw this spot but never knew it was operating. My partner went one day and bought us all ice cream. When I got mine I was pleased along with the rest of the family. My partner had banana pudding ice cream. It was amazing. Im not a banana pudding eater let alone like the flavor of bananas. This creamery did it right! Thanks for your services in our community!

Terrible customer service very ghetto.

The ice cream was amazing 5 starsI had a banana boat. I love to support local business in the city, especially in southeast. However, do what to add the gentleman today seem worn out and I don’t want to assume he had an attitude. But his customer service was horrible. I kept thanking him because maybe it was a bad day and he had a bad customer. But no smile, no interaction, seemed annoyed when I asked to try a flavor. Not see if he thought I was going to not buy anything. (Reason why I took 2 stars)But I loved the ice cream and so did my daughter

The ice cream was to die for. I had the bananas foster. The taste war thst of old fashioned ice cream. Loved it and will be going back for more.

Small yet comfortable local ice cream shop. My favorite treat place. Love their selection of flavors. Very nice staff. Hope they eventually get tables and shares inside.

I love this place, theres a lot to get here, but the ice cream deserts are the reason for the season at this establishment.

Great Family owned neighborhood creamery. They serve all types of ice cream, plus small fast food, like chili cheese nachos, hot wings, and hot dogs.

Ice cream is delicious, service is fast and the people who work there are kind and sweet I always leave with a smile.
