Amazingly friendly and helpful staff! Middle C is a great place to pick up your general music needs, but maybe isnt the best specifically for guitar equipment. They still have the basics for guitar, and will order anything you need! I have also used their guitar repair/tune-up service and everything was great. Thanks!

I hadnt sought out new strings for my guitar since 2017. so every ~4yr when I get restrung, I only trust one music shop to touch my green guitar: Middle C Music. they do a fabulous job! I wouldnt recommend waiting 4yr for new strings -- or 10+yr for a new case -- but I highly recommend Middle C Music for all services!

What a great find in DC! Went to get a coffee at Dunkin’ next door and I just had to check out Middle C Music. The staff is really knowledgeable and friendly, and as a musician and music teacher, I love that this is TRULY a full-service music store, with instruments, lessons, repair, sheet music and more. I walked out of there with a lovely tongue drum and it will be a great souvenir of my visit to DC!

Wow! This place is awesome. Great variety of instruments, a bit of gear and lots of sheet music. Tom was super helpful and the rest of the staff was nice and interactive. You can tell these folks really take pride in what they do!

We went in to get my brothers guitar restrung and the staff immediately squeezed us in to the very small time left before the store closed. Everyone was very kind and the store has a great environment!

My daughter started taking piano (virtually) during Covid with Mandy Brown and she loves it!!! We are so impressed with the progress she has made this year, and the joy of hearing piano playing in the house. Plus the staff at the Middle C store is incredibly welcoming and helpful - buying her new music is a breeze.

I went in to look at djembes, and the salesperson was very friendly and helpful. When I made a decision, I emailed him to make an order. After three days of not hearing back, I called him, and had a question about price. He said he’d call me back right away, but no response. Word of advice: if a customer offers you money for a product, you should really make every effort to get back to that customer, esp. when the product can be found and purchased for less money online (which it was). I wanted to support your small business, it I guess my patronage wasn’t valuable enough to you.

Purchased a Kamaka Koa tenor ukulele yesterday from Middle C Music. The people working there were knowledgeable and very helpful. I wasnt fond of the strings that come with a Komaka ukulele. Middle C Music changed them out for me with the strings of my choice at no cost for the new strings or for the service to replace them.Highly recommend Middle C Music for anyone just starting out with playing a musical instrument or who is already experienced.

It was wonderful experience coming here and shopping. Customer service excellent.Mr. Amos was very helpful in helping me to tune my violin at no cost. They have a large variety of instruments and they are evidently experts. Amos told us to come again if we needed help or had questions.

Michael, the Floor Manager is a great guy. We’ve been speaking on the phone and he’s quick to answer any and all questions. Staff is great. I always get a email reply the same day and it’d be more fun if I came in person. Thank you guys for running an amazing business! I couldn’t been more happier!!

Customer service is good. But prices can not at all compare to Washington Music Center. I was quoted almost $400 more for the exact same flute. Buyer beware.

After calling to ask and then asking again upon arrival of their fees to string a guitar, they tripled the amount quoted. It was an awful, exploitative experience. I planned to rent an instrument and have my children take lessons there. We will not return.In response to the reply below, the information on pricing was not explained before the service. Guitar Center has not charged me in the past and they state that they charge $1 per string if they are busy and wish to wait. I did not request you to honor their rates. I mentioned it to see if it was of your interest to honor as I was unable to get to their location. I was told it could not be honored and I would be charged $20 total for labor. You choose your rates according to your needs. Customers must be given accurate information in advance.

Mike reviewMiddle C is a great store! We have gone there at least 20 times, we practice piano, drums, ukulele, etc. The workers are so nice and fun. Particularly Mike, he is the nicest guy I’ve ever met, he helps us with practicing instruments and teaches us how to use a lot of the equipment like the beats and looper. We have lots of fond memories there with our friends and we love going back.

Last year I trusted them to set up my brand new PRS SE $700 guitar. Still had the plastic film on the back. I purposely didn’t take it to a Guitar Center because I wanted it taken care of. The cashier even noted what a beauty she was. It wasn’t until I brought it back home that I noticed they made a large scratch on the back. Beware. Obviously the person they use for simple guitar repairs is careless. Just extremely disappointing and now there is a forever mark on my favorite gear!

Great service. I needed to find some sheet music for a wedding. They set aside the music for me so that I could pick it up after work, and when I got there they set up headphones on a keyboard so that I could practice and make sure that I was getting exactly the right versions of each song. Excellent customer service and reasonable prices.

I strongly recommend this place is fantastic. Overall a great music store.

I brought in my son’s acoustic guitar to have a string replaced. The person doing the job broke the bridge and the store is not asuming any responsibility. Of course, they argue that the guitar must have been broken before I took it to the store, but the fact is that the guitar was in perfect condition when I took it out of the case and gave it to the employee. Wouldn’t he, or the other employee looking at the guitar, have said anything otherwise?I’m in shock that a store that has been around for so long would do something like this and not asume responsibility for the damage they caused to the instrument. Oh, and to add insult to injury, the store manager suggests that I buy a new guitar from their store. Do they think we are all stupid?

This is an amazing neighborhood music store, with reasonable prices and helpful staff. There is some freedom to test out almost all of the instruments, which is rare at music stores.
