This place is fantastic for both guys and gals. We had 2 beautifully tailored cashmere coats made here last winter (male and female), both had excellent craftsmanship. Weve also had shirts made, my partner had several long sleeve shirts both casual and formal and the fits were spot on. They recently started doing womans clothing as well and I had 2 casual linen shirts made, super light and breezy! Great quality and great customer service (Mathea is the best!), well be back to get suits and womens jackets made! Highly recomed!

Many “custom” shirts through stores really just let you select collars and other features, but have stock sizes. Hall Madden starts by using fitting shirt templates, but then customizes the fit to the individual. I love being able to pick out wonderful fabrics and work with them to perfect the fit.Mathea at the Palo Alto store has a wonderful sense of style and has helped me design dress, casual and “date night” shirts. When I need a new suit, I’ll definitely work with her.

As a groomsman, I was recommended to this place by the groom to get a fitted suit and shirt for the wedding. Mathea guided us through the whole process and thankfully prevented us from making some stylistically questionable choices with regards to color coordination (for example, left to my own devices, I would have chosen very garish buttons for the suit).The final suit and shirt looked amazing and fit like a glove! (see photo) Mathea was very detailed in designing the fit, asking a variety of questions, like what shoes I was planning to pair with the outfit and whether I would be wearing a watch or not, and adjusting accordingly.The whole process involved 2 in-person appointments and a shipped set of trial suits (for which I needed to send photos). In addition to pleasant conversations, Mathea also recommended some local businesses for cleaning and pressing.I got the 5-shirt package when I first came in, and so Im very looking forward to creating and seeing my next 4 shirts!

Everything from the color itself, intricate detail of the design, buttons, pant length, type of shoes, tie, pocket square and more. I did have a vision of what I wanted going into this and Mathea took it to the next level. Her communication is lighting fast and is really on top of everything she does and has an incredible memory of every one of our conversations. Even through COVID she made this a seamless experience. Hall Madden does a test fitting before they make the actual suit which gives time for correction of measurements and another chance to make adjustments which really reduced the pressure of getting everything I wanted right the first time around. Im also really thankful Hall Madden let me finish up my final fitting at their LA location where I happened to move throughout the journey. Much appreciation to Richard in the LA team as well. The Hall Madden experience was truly special and personalized. I wanted the style of a off-the-track design coat but didnt like the fit or the fabric. Hall Madden (Mathea) made that dream coat come true. Matheas attention to details and experience with custom fitting is phenomenal. She made the design process so fun and easy. I picked the design, picked my fabric and added/adjusted all the details I want to my coat. The result is amazing and exceeded my expectation (thx my bf for the special Xmas present). LADIES!! Need a quality suit? Look no further.Bottom Line:If you’re willing to pay a little more, this place will not disappoint.I was in search of a business suit for upcoming court trials, and needed everything to look sharp. I’ve always shopped off the rack (typically from Banana Republic) but I’m shorter and have played sports all my life so the shirts and pants were often a bit long, or tight in some areas while loose in others. Tailoring helps, but only so much, and you’re limited to the styles and colors in the store.I’m not a clothes person, but being able to pick out small details (with professional assistance) was actually pretty fun. Nerd/OCD friend alert: they even have this tool that measures the slope of your shoulders so your shirts sit/fall correctly. The slope of your shoulders, like what?!Like I said before, I’m not a clothes or design person at all, and Mathea helped guide me in the right direction with her expert eye and advice. And holy hell, this new suit is so comfortable, I feel like I could wear it all day (even in hot weather) and be comfortable while looking amazing.I mean, there is this soft smooth liner (apparently Japanese cotton) on the inside of the pants, and all I want to do is wiggle my legs around to feel the silkiness. I probably look like I have ants in my pants, but oh well.The shirt is light yet crisp. For the first time in my life, while wearing a dress jacket, I can bring both my arms together in front of me without it being too tight in the front of my shoulders while the sleeves are still too long. .Everything JUST FITS RIGHT. I came here for a bespoke wedding suit and some tailored shirts. As a total rookie to the world of bespoke clothing, I did not know what to expect, but Mathea at the Palo Alto office was absolutely wonderful guiding me through the process. From picking out the initial fabric to putting on the final suit, Matheas ability to listen and her keen eye for fashion delivered a truly personal wedding suit. I smile inside every time I think about wearing it :)A bespoke suit is certainly expensive, but its also a lifetime investment in yourself. I recently purchased two suits, three blazers, five pairs of dress pants, and five shirts from Hall Madden, and I am quite satisfied with the quality and comfort. Mathea was attentive, conscientious, and was able to resolve a couple of issues I had with two of the garments, so it was satisfactory overall. Mathea even turned me on to Vanda Fine Clothing for some excellent ties and pocket squares, and recommended me an excellent Rowenta replacement iron to use on those new dress shirts. Youll wait a while, and it is a bit expensive, yet the quality and the excellent service make it all worthwhile. Thank you again, Mathea.

Got a custom tux for my wedding through Mathea at Hall Madden. Both Mathea and the tux exceeded my expectations. Being athletic built, off the shelf suits dont fit my frame quite right, but the tuxs fit and overall look is amazing. Mathea herself was also awesome during the process. She was great at getting back to emails as well as being spot on for suggesting a time line for an on schedule delivery of the final tux. Will be back again for sure.

He was also able to personalize his suit by having his wedding date and initials stitched into the jacket.Mathea was meticulous when it came to ensuring his suit was a perfect fit. For starters, if you are looking for an impeccable customer service experience with a tailor who is very detail oriented, Mathea is your girl.My husband wanted a very specific suit for our wedding. He is from England and likes a more European fitted look, which is surprisingly difficult to find. Shop after shop we were given few options and unenthused customer service. Then we went to Hall Madden and our dreams came true with Mathea. My husband got the suit of his dreams in the end.Our wedding was to initially take place April 2020 in England, but the Covid happened. For a few months it seemed like the wedding might still go on, and during that time, Mathea was our cheerleader and did everything she could to make sure my husband’s suit was delivered and fitted by the date. In the end our wedding was postponed a year, and we look forward to our final fitting with Mathea.

It was the best customer service experience Ive ever had! Mathea continued to make adjustments to the suit (adjusted for my rapid 10 pound weight loss), and offered great fashion advice on things such as ties, pocket, and shoes.
