Joanns is a large fabric store at Crossroads in Waterloo, Iowa. But it just doesnt sell LOTS of different high-quality fabrics and sewing/project materials. It also sells sewing & quilting supplies, including professional high-end scissors, high-quality thread for all projects in many color varieties, zippers, assorted accessories for sewing/quilting, many patterns, batting, pillow forms, and interfacing (fusible & sew-in).Joanns also has quite a selection of supplies for other types of creative hobbies, both for adults and children. This includes supplies for specialty cake baking. Theres a large jewelry making supplies assortment, knitting, crochet, T-shirts, etc. There is also a good selection of painting and drawing materials, both for adults and children.They also have other assorted items including candy, in-season items, and fabrics for every holiday.I highly recommend going to Joanns for all your fabric and crafting needs. The staff is always friendly, & willing to assist customers. It also has great sales going on all the time.

I would give it a higher score and its a great place but they only had 2 people working. There was 4 of us in line and it took 5 min for 1 of them to come and check us out.Being a fabric place (specially) on a Saturday.

I stopped in to look at cricuts yesterday, Jill was SO helpful. She took time to answer my questions and and provide examples for best understanding. Its Jills time and assistance that helped me make my final decision!!! Excellent customer service!!!

Love this place. Go here quite often for my crafting needs. Could be bigger to include more items in store for drawing etc. They concentrate much of their space on fabrics and yarn. Cedar Rapids definitely has more choices and items of other crafting hobbies. But I would still recommend Waterloo as their place is always clean and.the staff is friendly. They have great coupons as well.

Asked an employee if they had a higher quality flannel and the reply was, Joanns cares more about quantity than quality. Wow! That was disappointing!

Cutting tackle was well staffed. Store was clean and organized. Checkout wasnt staffed well! Clerk was too busy visiting with a customer about personal business while others waited to check out.

Generally easy to find what I need (which is almost always yarn.) I like to look through their craft books too, they have a nice selection. The store is a bit messy as of late and the checkout always takes a long time to get through. But overall its a good craft and fabric store.

Computer systems went down due to the storm. Staff still allowed people to come in and pick out supplies and put them on hold and took my phone number with a promise to call when systems are up and running. I never received a phone call and when I called to check to see if they were up and running, Joyce was snotty and rude to me on the phone. I may or may not be picking up what I put on hold. A simple Im sorry we didnt call you is not too much to ask. Huffing and puffing at customers and being rude does not make people want to come back.

My last visit was very disappointing. I was recovering from a mild heart attack, at the beginning of COVID19. When I walked in the store, i made eye contact with the cashier (Patti) who did NOT say anything about only allowing so many in the store at once. She did however start a conversation with another customer about how I shouldnt be in there. The conversation was VERY UNFLATTERING and since I was in line when they were talking about me, I decided to say something to the cashier when it was my turn. I even said something to the manager who had to walk me to my car because the cashier had the other customer so riled up, the customer said she would make sure everyone outside how I went in before it was my turn... my bad, maybe next time, Patti should say something when she first sees a issue rather than getting the customers into a situation where they fear for their own safety. I do not think she needs ANY job in customer service

My first visit to this store. Seemed to have a great selection. They had a great sale going on when I stopped in. They beat their competitor on price ( who was also having a sale ) for what I was shopping for. The only down fall was I didnt have the same experience with employees who were working the floor that day asking if I needed help finding anything. That is why I gave four stars....The lady working checkout was wonferful. She was fast, friendly, very polite. Gave me a coupon for my next visit and even pointed out a few items on the coupon... Shes a great seller! Im glad I stopped in that day, well worth the stop. Definitely will shop here again.

Great Place for Crafting - However, i went in for yarn and when entering i was confronted with the cinnamon pine cone scent. Im allergic to cinnamon... please consider moving them!!! Otherwise love going there!!

I buy a lot of yarn, as my name suggests. This location, the only one within an hours drive, has one of the most pathetic yarn sections I have ever seen in a craft store that actually carries yarn. And when the website shows they carry a product but have only one in stock, the employees have no idea whether or not theyre going to get more in.I do like being able to order online and pick up in the store rather than pay for shipping. You can even order fabric, which is very nice as they have so many to choose from. I can browse at my leisure and, usually, pick it up later that day, if I like. And its very easy. Just walk up to the checkout, show them the email with the order number, and done.And they do have frequent sales on their fabric. Even coupons you can use on sale fabric, sometimes.

In the area, they have the largest and wide variety of fabric choices to be found! Also great sales!

Joann Fabrics has such a nice selection of fabrics and yarns. Initially it may seem pricier than other craft stores, but download the app and youll get a gold mine in coupons. Good ones! 40% off your entire purchase, things like that. Pretty sweet.

This store has very little order to it. Store is stacked with fleece fabric overkill 😫. With no quilt shop in Waterloo it would fall to reason to stock more quality quilt fabric. Once again I had to settle.

I have nothing bad to say about this particular store. However, online ordering with this company is a nightmare. I waited a month for an order and even contacted them inquired whether is was no longer available because it was taking so long and was reassured it was still in processing. Literally a month later was notified they were out of stock. They run crazy specials but then don’t even get them fulfilled. Must be an issue with fulfilling orders placed before others

Hunting season & time for this womans version of hunting... sales shopping! Joann fabrics is a favored hunting spot because of the large variety of crafts & super low clearance prices! I bought bags of christmas clearance.

It was nice that they started their Black Friday deals on Wednesday. The place was not a mad house & they had plenty of cutters to move through the line of customers with fabric.

Craft store A L E R T !!!! Joanns offers quality fabrics among our local craft stores, particularly, some materials that youre simply not able to obtain at other fabric stores. But their craft selections are awesome! Especially crafts for smaller children.Not a fan of their checkout line...it may seem trivial but Im still not a fan of the whinding line. Also, some of the staff have been known to be a liltesty. But hey, everyone has a bad day sometimes, right?
