Best Humus in Watertown. The alleys are very narrow, not accessible for people on wheelchair and a feeling of an overcrowded place.
It is a daily for Armenian and Middle East food, very clean, nice friendly service, and delicious food.
Wow! Wonderful selection of my food and Middle Eastern products. Unfortunately the bad reviews are based on politics and not quality. Please visit
Love this place! Lamejuns are delicious! Hummus is great!
Fresh products, fair prices and most importantly always friendly staff.
Sevan is a ethnic grocery with a good variety of armenian, turkish And to somemextent greek groceries.. so, not to be missed if you are looking for such groceries and food ingredients. The bakery section could be more tasty but still quite decent. Reduces the cravings!
We only stopped by here to pick up some baklava. I assume they make them in house but I am not sure. We got a sampler of all the kinds they had, and I have to say they were all good, but the hazelnut was the best baklava I have ever had anywhere. The price was reasonable. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and quick to serve.
Muhammara and hummus so good
Great place and great team. The team is super nice and positive people, and the products are also a 10/10. Would give six stars if I can.
Family-run business, consistently great experience. This time asked which of the many feta cheeses to use for a recipe, and got good advice.
A hidden gem. If youre a foodie youll find this place essential.
Great selection, amazing prepared foods and baked goods, lots of fresh ingredients, incredibly helpful and friendly staff, and they even stock some hard to find craft brews and ciders from time to time. A definite gem! A truly delightful shop experience!
They supplied pastries for our party. We were tempted to keep them for ourselves! They were beautifully presented and delicious. They were the hit of the party.
This place has everything you could possibly want in terms of Middle Eastern food and it is neat as a pin and the staff are super friendly
Sevan Bakery is a great place to get a variety of Mediterranean cuisines. I recommend coming here on a weekday to peruse the two and a half aisles of frozen, chilled, and dry goods.Do not go to this place hungry because there is a display cooler of all the various lunch and dinner items, your money will leave your pocket in a hurry. Their cheese selection was enough of a reason to make a trip.Sevan offers a service where you can order online and then have a courier pick up the food for delivery. This is reasonable if you want to pick something up but are practicing Covid precautions.Make this a destination on your trip through Watertown. Its an experience!
It has been my place to shop for all sorts of ethnic delicacies. Supperb selection of feta cheese, spices and bread. Family business in the best sense!
Great selections and I’m obsessed with the baklava and candied chickpeas
Love the Feta and herb dip and the spinach cheese rolls
We love this place.
This place is awesome. They have the best foods around and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a huge variety of products as well. You cant go wrong with anything in this store.
Awesome food. Had a couple of their items, love the folks that work there. Theyre really friendly and really clean. You cant go wrong!
Delicious fresh baked food.
Great family own business, they are always nice to the people. And they are always helpful and polite...
Super Good 👍
I’ve been coming to Sevan for years because the quality of their feta, olives, dips, and baked goods is fantastic. Not only is their selection of feta and olives fantastic, but they are so fresh and you can taste it. Their baklava is among the best I have had anywhere (the apricot, fig, and sour cherry flavors are all great but the standard pistachio is the best). And if it is your first time coming to Sevan, make sure to try some of their Muhamarra. The Muhammara alone will keep you coming back!
Disappointed to see this place is getting boycotted by Turks because they boycotted the Turks because they supported the Azeris recent invasion of historically Armenian land. If you guys want Turkish food go to the multitude of Turkish bakeries and stop leaving fake reviews. Better yet try some Armenian food while you’re occupying the land and turn that hatred into love and understanding of what we have in common.
Terrible management, boycotting the Turkish products is not going to help you anyway. Nothing but unfair provocative acting. I hope they will change their attitude and they provide a peaceful environment for everyone.
I’ve been going to Sevan since I moved to Watertown. I’ve always enjoyed their variety of products and the fact that they carry Turkish products which made me feel at home away from home. The owners and I would speak Turkish and they were always super friendly.Notice I’m using past tense right? Unfortunately the last time I was there I felt that they were distant and with the current political issues i didn’t speak Turkish because I was afraid of having a bad interaction. I felt very uncomfortable/ which could have been just me but honestly it didn’t feel the same. I felt discriminated which broke my heart. I’m still going to give 4 stars for my past experiences and will go again just to see if anything changed.Fingers crossed.
Delicious made on premises food, scrumptious bakery goods and an amazing variety of spices and imported groceries! Did I mention friendly and helpful owner and staff? This little gem is a total delight.
Delightful place to visit. They are open pretty early in the morning (8am) and it is the perfect time to get some delicious savory pies (both meat and veggie friendly options) for breakfast. The owner was extremely nice and friendly and gave me instructions to heat em properly at home.I sampled few baklavas as well and the pistachio ones were my absolute favorite! They also have a wide variety of baklavas to offer!
Sevan is a family-owned place with a friendly staff and expansive selection of quality food. They have everything from quick snacks and premade Mediterranean dishes which are super convenient. The basturma (sliced cured beef) is a must try!
Lovely staff and a great selection of fresh and dried goods.
This is awful place. I wish I could not be there. It is very poor service. They are selling unfresh food. It is dirty place. If you don’t want to be poisoned. Do not get there.
Been a returning customer for over 18 years for a reason. You can find all the middle eastern classics in this well-kept and clean corner store. The family running the shop is very nice and always helpful too. Huge selection of fresh cheeses, olives, and nut varieties. Always a stock of fresh pide (bread). You cannot go wrong by taking a quick visit. Street meter parking only.
Best Armenian grocer/baker around.
Excellent selection...finest quality...family owned
An amazing place run by the best people you’d ever want to meet. LOVE SEVAN!
Sevan Bakery is so much more than a bakery. Its a small family owned store filled with quality products. The best part is the display case of freshly prepared food. Since I moved about an hour away, I make seasonal pilgrimages to Watertown to indulge in a weeks worth of dinner. And my local friends have given me lists of items to get when I journey in that direction. Their lentil bulger wheat (muhadara) is amazing. Ive tried replicating it and it always falls short. Their eggplant mushroom side dish is also a big hit, as is their beans, feta spread, grape leaves etc. And they stock a Turkish chocolate, Ulker (dark with pistachio is incredible). And of course, dont forget their baked goods (savory and sweet). Get to know this place before winter sets in. Trips to Sevan will keep meals at home interesting always (but especially when dining out will be so limited during a pandemic). They are closed on Sundays.
Sevan has the absolute best spinach and cheese bureks. I am drooling just thinking about it and can’t resist stopping by when I’m in Watertown. They also have many other delicious prepared foods, like the spicy feta dip, grilled mushroom/eggplant and lamejun to name a few. Their service is always so friendly and the place is absolutely SPOTLESS clean. It is my personal favorite Armenian market.
Like the place, good middle eastern products, loved the dates, coffee, nuts, candy, etcnot the falafel.
Tried several different things, savory and sweet to bring for dinner at friends place, all delicious
Lovely food selection. Very helpful people.
Great lamajon!
(1) Ive been shopping at Sevan for 4 years. They run a clean business and, although their products may seem pricey to some, their quality is consistently high. I absolutely love this place.(2) In case you are wondering whats up with all these 1-star reviews in the past few days... sigh... In the wake of the recent Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, some groups have started launching online attacks as seen here. Many dont live in Watertown and vicinity and may not even have been to this store. To make things worse, the local Armenian community is forcing them to ditch the majority of their inventory. This puts them between a rock and a hard place.Saying lets all get along has always been a good way to get a beating, after all...As a Turkish customer of theirs, I have greatly enjoyed their business, as well as Murat and Nurans company in the past years. I will be supporting them whatever they decide to do during this time. I very much hope you will consider doing the same.
I use to shop at Sevan, but after their note about approving the fight against Azerbaijan and removing Turkish products, I’ll definitely never shop there again. That’s a shame.
This is the place where I feel like home. Love from Kurtulus/Tatavla.
Terrible dirty store, I dont suggest anyone to go and they dont have any Turkish products. I recently found a new store Free Range market in Bedford. The store has out of date products, dusty and very dirty.
I used to go there for their baked goods served at the weekends. Unfortunately, the last two times Ive visited, they were very dry and hard. The prices went up too, so doesnt worth a visit anymore.
I went there expecting to find a variety of Turkish products after reading the reviews. I drove for over an hour for nothing. Very disappointed.
The WORST store I have ever been to.None of the employees are helpful telling us where to find the products! Food products old,its not freshly made. Terrible. Also price is higher than other bakery in Watertown. Some customers not wearing mask but employees not worry about it. Stay a way this place
Great staff with a great selection of Mediterranean groceries and Armenian foods. Place is small and can get busy, but they are fantastic. Great prices for bulk spices.
I wish i could give 0 points. The worst baklava I’ve ever had also overpriced
Nice, clean and organized place but just a little expensive.
Stop selling my favorite product by saying no more Turkish product.Such a shame!
This is a fantastic shop to purchase a nutritious lunch at which is full of flavor and joy!
Lots of tasty options and Sevan was really nice and helpful!
This place is the absolute best. Olives, nuts, fresh FETA (several kinds), pitas, baked goods, even wine. Best falafel and kibbe ever!
The Best place for Armenian FoodAs soon as you walk in and it smells so incredible, All different olives and spices omg the Candy and the fresh Bread and Pastry, Its Heaven For Armenians Living in the suburbs
A great store if you are looking for Turkish products that are difficult to find somewhere else. Clean store and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. The prices are a little bit on the higher end and finding a parking spot could be a hassle sometimes. I wish they had wider aisles that fits grocery carts. Overall I like this place and I’ve been visiting since moving to the area.
Love love love this place. Everyone is super nice and so helpful. Amazing bread and they always have Turkish pistachios as well as any other nut or dried fruit you could ever want. Tons of specialty items as well.
They stopped selling Turkish products..I really wanna know WHY?
Great bakery.you can get anything you want family run and they are great.they always greet you with a smile.
I stopped by one Sunday morning hoping for a and walked away hungry and disappointed. Not a lot of choices and definitely not for the budget-conscious. There were homeless people and drug dependents hanging out outside the store. This not safe for your and for me
Went recently. The quality and food is poor. They are selling unfresh food.Do not buy anything from them.
Very good ethnic market in watertown.
Very nice and helpful
They stopped selling my favorite Turkish products :(. Not interesting anymore.
The worst service and owner i have ever seen! I do NOT suggest to anyone
Such a shame, they dont have any of my favorite product.
I love this place. Anytime Im working in the Watertown area, I always stop here!
I saw insects on bakery dept, dirty place, not healthy, im not gonna get anything from that place for my family .
Great service, friendly and delicious counter takeaways!
They make stuffed eggplant with beef and peppers that was delicious. Lots of Armenian specialties.
Gourmet really? Everything is so stale.
Coming from Turkey, I can say that the Sevans Bakery has the best quality of authentic products in the New England. Their baklava is the closest one Ive ever tasted to the Turkish baklava. Packaged goods and homemade pastries and dairy products are amazing as well.
Never again would I shop here, rude people, dirty place. They need FDA control!
Always an excellent choice when in Watertown. Only problem is what NOT to purchase. High quality!!! Fresh everything!
Worst place ever!!!!
Delicious goods and friendly people!
A true oasis of top quality delights - from sesame rolls (simit) to baklava, and a complete Mediterranean spread inviting you to a culinary zen. Best of all, every baked or cooked item is made by the owner and his family - always with same consistent quality. A must to experience.
I have been shopping from Sevan Market for 2 years. They always have fresh and good quality foods. Especially if you are looking for any Turkish food brands, Sevan is the place where you need to go in Boston. You can find any Turkish cheese, olives, soujuk, jam, olive oil etc. Baklava and Grape leaves are my two favorites. Also, the staff is very friendly and willing to help you to find the food that you need.
Good customer service
They sell a big variety of good things I had never heard of. Delicious.
Great little Armenian bakery and food store. Decent selection of fresh produce. Great bar of nuts and dried fruits, awesome feta cheese, and a large selection of spreads salads and baked goods for anyone that likes Mediterranean foods.
Employees do not care about health. The dairy products they sell are often expired and I saw mice in the store.
I love the place good 👍✨
Too small and smells too stinky and bakery items are so overpriced . I don’t recommend, stay away ...
Great selection of middle eastern food, breads and pastry. Reasonable prices. Parking can be a challenge.
Excellent food, very nice people
Everything is overpriced and they always sell expired products.
Prices are more expensive than other Middle East stores. Although, I got cheese last week which was already expired. I really don’t suggest to go that store! Waste of money!!
I-m Greek and much prefer going to do my shopping at Sevans. They have most of the Greek items I need to buy and THEY ARE ACTYALLY VERY WARM AND FRIENDLY, unlike Sophias where they are cold and unpleasant
1 star is too much for that dump store
İ didn’t like the taste.i do not advise you
What a horrible place.
Great prices and selection. Excellent people working there too!
