I have been with this company for a couple years now. After a year they let me get put on auto pay which was helpful with winter time needs. They have delivered my propane on time and I have not run out. So a bit of positive feedback there.The reason I give three stars is because billing is not very good or trustworthy. In May I got called about raising the price (they never looked at my credit that could have covered the balance, which is what its for) and the lady told me the new price which I confirmed and told her I wanted it still on autopay. She told me I was all set. I get called two months later about my monthly bills never getting paid. So clearly she did not do her job. And the worker asked me dont you look at your bills online. No cause I trusted you to do your job and use my card as you told me. They take no fault for it. Towards that fact yes I swore twice about the situation (not at her but about the subject). And she told me not to swear. Well get ready to hear that alot from people. Cause when someone gives you their card info and you say your gonna do something with it you dont then point fingers at them vs a simple apology your asking for it. Very unprofessional!!! So for a long time I will have zero trust in them with my card. And if they do something like this again I will find a different place.

Not only are Ryan and Steve good guys, they got my new heating oil tank set up fast and in a much better location. Amanda was always professional to deal with over the phone, and made us confident in continuing to do business with Dead River. Overall a decent experience, thank you.

Ive been with this company out of this location for 13 years. But today that ends. We were running low on oil and had a delivery scheduled for today, but when my wife woke up this morning, she called me and we had no heat, we had run out of oil. Weve never been that low on oil it was a Overlook on our part, yes. But the issue is, I immediately called Dead River at 7 a.m. and explained that I had an order scheduled for delivery for today, but we ran out in the middle of the night, and I needed that oil at my house ASAP so I could get my furnace going because I have my wife and three little children at home. My delivery just showed up 10 minutes ago at 3:30 p.m. . We have paid our bill on time all the time for all of these years and have never had an emergency situation. It is the middle of January with my wife and children at home with no heat. And they took 11 and a half hours to get me my emergency delivery. I was out of town when this happened. So my father-in-law came over with 5 gallons of diesel and put it in my tank and at least got my furnace going for my family. This is unacceptable customer service!!! Granted, like I said we ran low by mistake. That does not justify an 11 and a half hour emergency oil call in the middle of January

Great friendly and professional staff. They took care of a mess left by another company even though it took patience and a couple of visits. Everything is working for the first time since we moved here. Thank you Dead River.

I have asked for Don the Sales Manager to come and provide me with an estimate for a tankless hot water system. He call ed me twice and left a message fo me to call him. Not my job to chase him. His boss Tom called me and set up an appointment for Tom to come out. I had an emergency with one of my pets that morning. I called to give him the message and said I had to drive to PA and would call him later in the week I get back home. I called last week and was told he was not available so I ask for his voicemail. I was told he had none because his mailbox was full. The lady took my name stating he would contact me. Have heard nothing. Guess I will look to another company to see about a tankless unit. I am updating my review based on the fact Tom Patten Field Sales Manager and Craig Jester Service Manager came out to my home. They were professionals, friendly, and did not try to sell me something I did not need. Other changes within DR need to be done however to improve customer service.

Bought a house in their service area, previous homeowner had used them but they made it an easy decision early on not to stick with them. Service guys themselves are great, but the billing and dispatch staff are horrendous.After 3 service calls and an account setup, they still managed to confuse us with the previous homeowner and disconnected our propane in the middle of January for non-payment. No letters, no calls, not even a knock on the door... they tried to do it on the sly. Fortunately the tech got stuck in my driveway in the snow, and when I towed him out we got to talking.. So he called the office and had to reconnect it then and there.The billing on the service calls were confounding, ultimately got the service manager Paul on the phone who put the nail in the coffin as far as my doing business with them. I cant have such an important utility be subject to the management of such an arrogant and unhelpful clown.
