Rented a 26’ truck for our move and purchased a hitch. Ended up not needing the hitch and the return was super smooth. Reserving the truck was also smooth sailing and they were super accommodating to us changing our pick up time. (twice!) Melissa was an absolute dream to work with. She knows her job like the back of her hand and provided fast, friendly service to me on three different occasions. She was very thorough on explaining all the ins and outs of our rental agreement and giving a run down on the operation of the truck. 10/10 recommend this location and ask for Melissa!
I have always had the best experience at this location & people who work here. The people are always friendly and eager to help.In my experience, these are good folks and very trustworthy. There might be some corporate policies or guidelines that keep their hands somewhat tied, but have always found the folks that work here to be very good people.They had my reservation ready to go, as reserved. I drove a 20’ truck and car-hauler more than 3000 miles, without any worries or issues. Great value, from my experience.
The owner was rude and nasty, to the point I wanted to slap her right in the face. Will never spend money here again. Maine quality period.
Apparently at this local U-Haul the customer is ALWAYS WRONG! We actually thought that the U-HAUL BRAND meant all locations. Nope, so dont count on them honoring the U-Haul customer service line when booking work either. The service is not courteous and not about the customer. I strongly recommend avoiding this location!
I recently rented a small trailer for a family trip in order to keep our belongings dry during our travels, when I showed up to pick up the trailer my online reservation was somehow dated for an entire month later and was to be picked up at a location that was 1 hour further south of where I reside than I had planned for. The gentleman who helped me out was knowledgeable of the UHAUL system and was able to change my rental to the day I had planned for. He also changed it to the location I had planned for and just like that I was on my way. Upon returning the rental I was 15 minutes late and was fully prepared to pay for another day’s rental, and more concerned that I had messed up someone else’s plans than I was the extra money I was expecting to pay. The girl who received my return simply stated, ” Oh, you not that late” and continued to charge me for only my original rental agreement. That was so impressive to me to see the kind of small town treatment that normally doesn’t spill over into big business like UHAUL…. I understand that late charges are one way companies like UHAUL make money and I don’t disagree with it at all, but I just wanted to acknowledge the kindness I was shown and thought that the Elm St. UHAUL Waterville, Me. Deserved an great review!
Upon my arrival the employee working gave me the nastiest Attitude I’ve experienced in Waterville she didn’t care to help solve my problem or apologize for the inconvenience she instead told me “she couldn’t help me” terrible customer service .....5/6/21
I rented two separate trucks on two different weekends to move. Strictly in town and short distances. The first three day rental was what I expected, although it did cost more than j expected.The second truck is where the problems started.We had it for less than a day, and returned it that night. We drove it significantly less than the first truck, so imagine my surprise when we were charged for 55 miles of travel. We had, at most, driven 15-18.Melissa at the store told me that I should have taken a picture of the odometer before we left because they couldnt help me.I then noticed that I have two charges on my account totalling more than $175.So now Ive been massively overcharged and I cant reach anyone at the store, or through any of the corporate channels. Ill update this review if I ever get some resolution, but this means that I will absolutely never use uhaul again and I will advise my friends and family to do the same.
Two rentals in two weeks saw our move successful with Rich and his team. When you need service on the move, see Rich and get the hitch. Ha! Thanks everyone!
The one guy that I dealt with was phenomenal. Something about him made everything super comfortable and easy.
Made a reservation online, when I arrived they told me it was for a different location 30 minutes away. Showed him the pick-up location from a screen shot on my phone. Guy at counter could not have cared less. No apology, no offer to make it right, no customer service whatsoever. Now turning what was supposed to be a 15 minute chore on my lunch break into an hour and a half ordeal.
The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about what kinds of services youll need for what type of place youre moving out of, they love answering questions :)
After my recent experience with this location I am very shocked I am the first negative review!I set up a hitch install reservation via online on 11/05 for a scheduled install for 11/06 at the 34 Elm St. Waterville location. Everything seemed well, even received a confirmation email regarding my installation appointment. I arrived at the appointment location on 11/06 on time and the one employee working there, who also claimed to be the locations general manager, did not know anything about my appointment until he powered up his computer and immediately started to give me excuses why he could not help me with my scheduled install.He told me I have already worked 70 hours this week and I am just here for a couple hours this morning because everyone called out I am the only person here that knows how to do installs Nobody else here wants to work, they keep calling out. The install bay is not usable and needs to be cleaned out before I can do any installs and that would at least take a half hour: and I can confirm the one install bay was completely cluttered with stuff, no way to get a vehicle in there..These are some of the excuses he offered me that there was no way he could help me. Im sure what he said was true ..but how is this my problem as a customer? How is this good for a Uhaul business? I was very shocked with the lack of organization and customer service I got from this Uhaul location. Very disappointed that a national chain like Uhaul would allow a location to be run like this. After many calls to the customer service line I was able to reschedule my hitch install for the Augusta location on Western Avenue. Total opposite experience! The location was well organized and the staff there seemed to care about their job and their customers. I live in Waterville but would rather drive an extra 25 minutes out of my way to do business at the Augusta location than to deal with Waterville again. Thank you.
