Our office has always sent out our instruments for sharpening and we decided to give Goldmans a shot due to their lower fees. Big mistake! Weve had to replace them because they were distorted beyond repair. Some were sharpened into the shank of the instrument, who does that? I called to let them know and was told a manager would return my call. Of course, I was never contacted and called back in a week. Their manager asked me to send them the instruments so they could see what went wrong with the technician. She offered to retip them and charge me. No thanks, I never sent them the instruments because this has all been such a waste of time and money. I would caution anyone about choosing them to sharpen any instruments. If I could rate them no stars I would.
Misshaped tips even though the instruments were sent in for retippimg, so all of the same style and nr instruments should have matched in the tip width and angles, however this was not the case. Not sure if they got malformed during tungstenization, but nonetheless they should have been sent back with uniform tips... second poor experience with this company and no, I will not use them again, nor would I recommend them. They are also pretty pricey.
We sent in a couple dozen instruments for sharpening. They were purchased in October 2016, and had never been sharpened. When we received them back from Goldman, the angles were so far off they were no longer usable. They thinned out the brand new instruments that they could no longer be sharpened. I called to speak to the manager, and they told me no one ever gets to speak to him. So I spoke with Paul, and he was awful to deal with. He told me they dont make mistakes, and I have to pay to fix them at this point (when I just paid them to fix them). Basically, they ruined our instruments, and now want to charge me to fix them. There was no lee way, no budging, period. When I googled their business, I see this has been fairly common for them, to ruin instruments, and then try to charge to fix their mistakes. This is just a warning one anyone using them for sharpening.
Ive been sending my instruments to them to be retipped for the last 40 years and they come back perfect every time.
Good prices. Good instruments.
I have only had great results with this company. I send in our broken and old instruments for re-tipping and they come back like new.
