The best thing that I can say is that since Woodmans opened nearby, this Jewel always has a ton of parking right up front! Prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and always have been. $2.49 for a 7 lb. bag of ice? You can get a 20 lb. bag of ice at Woodmans for $1.99. We shop there as a last resort when we need something last minute. Its our convenience store. We absolutely hate it.

Well stocked on sale items even later in the evening. Very friendly and helpful staff. Checkout during my particular visit was slowed by very slow registers.

Was able to get what I needed and self checkout quickly. Cost a lot for packaging tape though.

Great for picking up a few needed things, but I do my bulk shopping at Woodsman due to better prices

You have to check the dates on EVERYTHING you buy at this store. I constantly find expired items, especially in the deli and dairy section. Not cool as we are not talking about cookies that may just lose taste, but stuff that can actually really make you sick (and often is expensive like cheese etc). I only come here if I don’t want to drive far, so 2 stars just for the convenience factor.

A sign is clearly posted at the entrance that mask are required to enter but I saw shoppers without mask. I felt unsafe

You know what youre getting with Jewel. The store is clean and the quality is very good. Some of the prices are fine, and other items are priced ridiculously expensive. Some of the staff is helpful, some thinks youre invisible. Overall they have a very nice selection and I shop here when I want something that I dont mind spending extra money on.

This was probably one of the worse shopping experiences weve ever had at a Jewel. The store was really crowded, and customers were really rude. We had to stand in line at the deli counter for over twenty minutes because there was only 1 person working! For some crazy reason, one of the women was sitting on top of the 5 rack oven, with her head in the exhaust fan,talking on her private cell phone, and a couple of times she hung up and dialed someone again. We could tell it was her private phone because her work phone was still on her waist. Come on, I even took her picture just sitting there. She tried to act like she was cleaning the fan, but you could see she was just talking on the phone, and her dirty shoes were against the ovens door!!! Probably never shop there again !!

It jewel I mean... 5 star

This is your standard Jewel-Osco experience in what seems to be an older location. The parking lot can be a little hectic as drivers cut through and dont always pay attention to directional arrows in parking lanes. The store and surrounding property is diligently kept clean and in good order. Prices can be moderately high, which is common for Jewel, although deals can be found if attention is paid to the circular. The location is well-stocked and offers a good variety of items.

It is a very well kept older Jewel-Osco store. A lot of fresh and vegetables and fruit. And everything plates nice and neat kept clean. And a lot of varieties for just about any type of foods youre looking for and more unimaginable foods offered. Just have to go there for yourself youll see the more than what I am trying to tell you . You will be very very happy anyone will . Thats the upside the downside is, that its a little pricey. So start with looking for the sales then make your budget adjustment to include other great items they have.

I try not to leave negative reviews, but today was my last straw with them. Some employees are super nice and friendly. Unfortunately it is outshined by the constant lack of organization and bad attitude of others. Quality of product isn’t always up to par either. I live in Wauconda, but make it a point to go to Lake Zurich’s as much as possible as they are much friendlier, cleaner, and better quality. Morning self check out auditor has an attitude and motivated me to leave this review. I do appreciate the work they do with special needs, but the rudeness of others finally did it for me.

Very strange. First time ive gone into the store in over a year now. Otherwise, it was a good experience. Supplies were ample. There were several new items that I dont recognize and wouldnt know how to use (guaya), but the world is changed ; isnt it?I was surprised to see that the baggers were ALL gone. Those poor checkers were really pressed to run the register AND bag. She was very pleasant though, and appreciative that I was helping bag my groceries.

Always the highest prices for everything. Only ever run here in a pinch and pay the price.

A good large home town grocery store. Recently updated. Excellent staff. Staffed or many self checkouts. The store was well stocked even during the worst part of the pandemic. Home delivered for a fee. You will pay more than Walmart but that is to be expected. Overall a good experience. Clean and offer wipes to treat the carts on the way in the door.

I love the Wauconda Jewel, even if the store was laid out better before the last remodel. Nice, helpful employees that tend to stick around for a while. Love being able to bring home a fresh bouquet of flowers for less than $10, too!

We hosted our annual July 3 party and ordered 48 pieces of fried chicken, had a large order of deli meat ordered in advance and 6 loaves of french bread to make subs. Everything was delicious and order and pickup process was handled so well. Everyone at the party commented on the chicken and how delicious it was. Thank you to Chefs Kitchen and the bakery staff for taking care of us!

Overpriced, accused of LYING about a dollar coupon by cashier and the manager of the night, whose zipper fly of pants was open or the material around ripped... NEVER AGAIN!

The job is a challenge, but I liked going to work. Lots of physical work, which makes the time go by fast. I enjoyed the other co-workers. I like helping the customer find what their looking for. This store first priority is on the customers satisfaction. Sometimes its hard to please everyone, but I could see how the managers try very hard. Thats all positive, cant wait to go back to work there. Im off for awhile Im taking care of my mom. Look forward to see what the store looks like after the remodeling that is going on now.

Its Jewel. The only bad thing theyve done in my life to me was they stopped selling the Chicago popcorn that came in the blue and white bags. If Jewel reads this please bring it back. It was your best snack food. Other than the donkey and your home made tortilla chips.

This is a pretty good Jewel. They just did a remake not long ago. The new sushi section is great. My biggest gripe here is the speed of the deli. It takes forever to get my deli business done here. And I get all my drugs at Osco! :)

I love this Jewel! They have a very nice layout!! The wine selection is not the best, especially compared to other Jewels I shop at. Very friendly staff as well!!

Sadly Jewel has gone down the toilet. They gotten so rid of so many items. Plus Their prices are ridiculous for a lot of things. Luckily Woodmans carries the items that jewel had gotten rid of and at extremely reasonable prices. I will admit there are a few deals that are better at Jewel than Woodmans but, Jewel is going to be the store I go to for just a few random items. Woodmans will be my main grocery store.

Are used to work in Jewel-Osco myself I know how difficult the job Kim been and I know how easy to lose the control of your own employees however where I found in the store is amazing how they can keep everything organized the manager management must be doing something right at this location I had to return a product once because of wasn’t something that I needed to buy and everything went smoothly even without me having a receipt thank you guys for dad also I have found that this place has a really good variety of meat and it’s always fresh they really do have a nice board sure department in their steaks are cut nice and thick just the way I like him so I need to buy meat I always go to this location I would advise you guys to do the same thing they don’t over freeze their me don’t call him them I don’t know what it has to do with but for some reason this store has the freshest meats

Great staff. Classic style store. Nothing fancy or special. Not the best organic produce options but been slowly improving. I shop here out of convenience.

Produce is always a hit or miss with quality. Prices are generally a bit on the high side but if you shop for sales you can get good deals. Staff is always friendly and helpful. *update* this Jewel is going through a LOT of renovations and changes right now. Theyve added a soup and salad bar along with many other new things. New floors, new layout etc.

Love there cake and cupcakes but always out of chocolate cake with butter cream 😥

Very clean shopping experience

I have lived in the Wauconda area my whole life and frequently visit this Jewel. The staff is always very polite and helpful, the store is clean and well-organized(especially after the recent remodeling) and the hours are nice too. I tip my hat to the owners and management for consistently making the store better

An older Jewel-Osco and it shows. They have gone through the refurbishment process most of the other stores have done recently but the building itself still feels aged.Late hours are great but I don’t think I’ve ever been here when it wasn’t busy. Even at 11pm.Service/Staff are usually helpful and friendly but not the most assertive.

Since remodeling-Went from a store to avoid to a place to go.

Friendly and helpful staff. Fresh-squeezed in-house orange juice is the best. Well-stocked and tidy with Beautiful and updated surroundings.

Got what I went for.

When they have sales generally their sale prices are very good. However you have to be very careful when looking at a sale item because often you have to buy it in multiples. And in many cases, the fact that you have to buy it and multiples is in very tiny print below the sale price. So just be careful when you see a sale item look, for the conditions.

Finally check out was fast. Still dont trust anything they have on sale. You really have to read all the fine print. Sales only on certain days, pop, multiples, only this one not that, in tiny print. Big signs 1.99 next to that .99 cents a pound for Pork chops INTERMIXED same brand. Only 1 ON THE BOTTOM is .99 cents a pound the others are all 1.99 a pound. Big sign showing a great price, THEN in small print below, not today. Ill just stick to Miejer.

Great, friendly staff. Prices are not so competitive and the place looks like it needs a complete remodel. Especially the corner of the store where the produce/deli/butcher section is.. ( you can see the floor peeling up)

Friendly staff, clean facility, good selection, easy to navigate, pretty great prices on your usual goods, parking is ample and the new carts are a godsend. They send mailers with sales, too, which is convenient if you actually pick up paper mail.

Jewels prices are higher than Walmart, but hey carry some unique things that Walmart doesnt.

I used to love this store and shopped there all the time. Yesterday was not a great experience. Yes, I know it was 4 days before Thanksgiving but they were out of some things necessary for a Thanksgiving meal (like fresh herbs - no rosemary or sage) and other items were far back on the shelves and hard to reach. There were many managers hanging around. When i was trying to reach a pint of cream, 5 of them stood there watching me struggle to get it. I finally asked if one of them could help which they did but I should not have had to ask!

I was wondering why I had those flying bigs coming out of my kitchen cabinet. I thought I kept some cereals too long and created the problem. Well just bought some groceries and in the cookie box and cereal box just freshly opened were some larvas stuck inside the container itself.You guys need to have some bugs specialists take care of that . How much money after all this time I have thrown away getting rid of products. I am sure I am not the only one whit the problem all the way to my home. DO SOMETHING .

Clean store with a nice variety and great prices

I like the size and layout of this store compared to other Jewel stores in the surrounding areas. The staff here is nice as well and the managers are helpful.

STALE BIRTHDAY CAKES! Ordered a custom birthday cake from Wauconda Jewel bakery. It was STALE. I asked how a custom ordered birthday cake could possibly be stale. Bakery stated the cake part is pre-made and stored in freezer. The icing and filling is added to the cake the day its ordered. I was told by Kim in the bakery to bring it back in and they would give me a refund. I will purchase future cakes from a bakery which BAKES and sells fresh cakes. Im so DISAPPOINTED!
