Very Helpful and Knowledgeable staff. We went in looking for something new and they were able to help us out. We also couldnt help but pick up some older vinyl we saw while we were there. I prefer to look and buy local and they have a ton of inventory along with their helpful staff. Besides just tapes, CDs and Vinyl I was able to pick up a slightly used receiver at a very reasonable price. They were very honest and straightforward with me about the unit and we were able to work out a deal that made us both happy. My wife and I will be back for sure.

Really great,if you cant find something youre looking for ask and you will get it or he will take your name and number and he will call you when he finds it or he will tell you he doesnt have it. Found everything I have been looking for. If I could I would give him 20 stars. Keep up the good work, you have my support totally.

New and vintage vinyl albums here. Nice selection, with new additions daily. Friendly and helpful staff made finding what I was looking for easy. I bought a 44yr old Kiss Alive II album that had the original photo printed album sleeves and band booklet still with it. Records where in great shape. No warping or scratches, and sounded pristine. Its nice to have a comprehensive record shop back downtown. Reminds me of the 1970s when Mainstream was downtown! So cool 😎

I havent personally stepped into this store, but I saw something that showed me this business is ran by very kind people. I saw a lady today looking into the store and a man stepped out and said We usually arent open on Mondays, but what can I help you with? and then told the woman to come on in. This person went out of their way to welcome someone when Im sure they had a lot else going on. Going to make sure I stop by soon :)

Stopped by the store after I found out it was sold to a new owner to see what is happening. It is still a works in progress, but the new owner is very knowledgeable and informed me about his massive inventory he needs to go through and will be adding lots of new selections in the weeks to come. I did walk away with 2 albums I liked and look forward to future visits to see more selection!

Stopped in today to sell some vinyl, the owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and was very straight forward about how he came up with prices. I was a regular at starship under the old ownership, and based on my experience today I will definitely continue going there! (Also couldnt believe how big of an inventory they had, anything youre looking for, they probably have it or something close)

Heard that the location is under new ownership so I dropped by to check it out. Found a couple records I had been looking for. When I got home to listen to them I noticed one was warped and wouldnt play. When I returned it the owner was super understanding and apologetic. I didnt have any issue with the old owners, but the vinyl selection was a little stale. Im looking forward to seeing what changes the new owner makes and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Good selection of pre-owned vinyl, CDs and cassettes. They also have used audio gear and games for many systems. The store is neat and orderly and the staff are very friendly. The only downside is that they dont have a real big selection of new vinyl but their prices are fair and are in line with other used stores.

*********BUYERS BEWARE************************************************SHOPPERS OF RETAIL BRICK N MORTER SHOPS, BEWARE********Their shop is very picked over and when you do place an order on Discogs (which they prefer) since its so picked over, they mail in a standard flimsy box mailer which is most certainly set to arrive damaged. Heres the kicker, once it does arrive damaged, they tell you to go fly a kite and play a game slamming you the buyer that this was intentionally damaged. Ultimately, you pay to return ship and they slam you non-stop on Discogs other.When i say avoid, I MEAN AVOID THESE PEOPLE. BAD BUSINESS AND THE MOST RUDE RECORD SHOP IN THE GREAT STATE OF WI. BEWARE BEWARE+

I was sent to Starship by a co-worker, and Im so glad I went. Tony, the owner was so very helpful and hooked me up with a sweet pair of Technics speakers and a turntable, along with a Kenwood receiver. All for reasonable prices, so reasonable, I couldnt leave with out them. After my purchase, Tony helped me get my new equipment into the car, and handled the speakers like fine art. My whole experience deserved more than 5 stars!!

Best Record Store in Town. Dont confuse this with the other two in town. These owners has been around for a while and I rather support them.

This is a great place to shop for records. But outside of that (especially in video games and movies) theyre lacking. Physical media movies are on the decline so thats expected, but the video games part is not. Especially when they have a large rack of retro games (NES/SNES/Genesis/Atari, Xbox and more) sitting on a shelf spread in the next room over. I saw people ask how they could access that section of the store only to be told they cant because its the stores warehouse. Why are these items in a well lit room facing the street side then? Anyone walking down the sidewalk can see them easily, but cant buy them. Its complete tease to retro collectors because these items dont seem to be showing up in their cashier showcase. Are they being sold online? Who knows. Me and my collector friends like to shop local but more often than not we have to look to the Internet. If customers cant access this part of the store, why not cover up the windows so they dont see awesome stuff they cant have? If I ever get into vinyl record collecting I know where to shop though.

Tony knows his stuff. Not only did Starship have the record I was looking for (Wish you Were Here by Pink Floyd), it was in amazing condition and professionally cleaned. Not to mention, the store not only provided me with my vinyl needs, I got two and an amazing experience for less than $40. Unbeatable prices. If you ever find yourself in the Waukesha area, this place is a must visit. With legendary posters on the walls, some of the best records in Wisconsin, and amazing customer service, this place doesn’t deserve anything short of five stars. Outstanding used vinyl and music store near Carroll University. Nice diverse collection of artists and music styles with an ever changing inventory. I found some Black Flag albums that had just arrived and the owner gave me a very fair price. Small parking area behind the store is just a short walk from the entrance. I will be back.

As many of the previous people have said, they are some of the nicest people youll encounter. Their prices are very fair. Ill be going back there today as a matter of fact. Edited: I did go back there and have done so a few times since. They are a terrific family business. Nothing but good experiences each time I have gone. Good selection, fair prices, reasonable on buying albums and equipment from you too. I have been to almost all the shops in the area and Starship is one of the best to deal with.

It is a great store for me in near me, good prices and stuff in want, nice people there too. And also It like I always say “You never know what you are going to find” and starship records is a store I will always find something new there. So in my opinion it is a very good retail store if you are looking for cheap prices in movies, games, records, and more.

Owners are really nice and helpful. I visit the shop quite often and always find some jewel at a very good price. They frequently have sales and I never miss one (I follow them in Facebook). My only recommendations: 1. Those records in display for Discogs/eBay would be better in the shelves (online shoppers are never loyal, walk-in shoppers are), 2. Maybe add more heavy metal/rock records and put them in a different section. As much as I enjoy digging, normally when I go to other record stores thats the first section where I go to (and Im sure not the only one). Ill be back.
