So Ive been before and had great service but the last time I went I had this salesman named Dave and he was a little condescending not only to me but also my girlfriend who came in with me. He then followed it up with a few sexist remarks to my girlfriend and and tried to brag about his knowledge of women by mentioning this two ex-wives. Like I said went to this store before and had great service but Daves customer service left something to be desired.
I had one gentlemen assist me in my product choices. He explained the use, form, function and ingredients of more than 8 products. He also had a very well groomed moustache and looked younger than his stated age (64). I was at the register about to make a large purchase when a family member texted me the same products for cheaper on line. I then diverted my attention to a single beard brush. I felt bad wasting that mans time. But the prices on line were cheaper and that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I will return to his store but only for his service not his judgy coworkers. Yes I saw the faces being made when I walked away from a 200 dollar purchase. Stay professional and keep your composure just like the gentlemen that helped me. Thank you sir.
As a hobby, Ive made safety razors for friends and family. Ive never really been introduced to the arts-n-mysteries of fine grooming. I had heard of this store over the years and dont have one near my house. So given the opportunity, I wandered in. The gentleman maintaining the store walked me through many different products, how theyre used, differences between mass market and their offerings. Absolutely patient gentleman who was willing to answer my questions. He showed me differences between what I have made and their razors --and a couple other types as well. At the time, I didnt purchase a MASSIVE shaving kit as I wanted to try things before going all in. In the 2 weeks since, Ive been blown away at the differences between what Ive used all my life and these products. They may be expensive, but (in my opinion) they are really worth the decreased facial irritation and having an even smoother shave. Im very thankful for this experience and will be purchasing again, online (still no store around the Indy metro area).
The ONLY reason I shop here is because they carry products I like, that I cant get anywhere else. And after my last experience there, I might just shop online.The employee had TERRIBLE bedside manor. He payed attention to me(just barely), but FORCEFULLY tried to oversell me on the two products I went in for.I have a long beard, and only shave a little.Which is obvious when you see me in person. I came in for shaving oil and blades. He insisted on trying to sell me 40 blades.FOURTY.I had to raise my voice to get him to back down.I also came in for shaving oil. He insisted on selling me the $70 size, which I didnt want nor could I afford. I wanted the $25 size.He refused to give eye contact while trying to rip me off, and it seemed like he brought his girlfriend to work or something, as there was a very young woman loafing around the TINY shop giving this not cool dude goo goo eyes.I will be buying my shaving stuff online now. I dont need this.For the sake of management, this happened Friday evening between 5pm and 7pm, August 17th 2018.
Stay away from this company would be my advice after what I went through. So, I bought a $400 Panasonic electric shaver from Art of Shaving about a year ago. For the past month, the razor is not cutting well, many times my beard hair get stuck in it while I am shaving which is painful. I even changed the blades and washed it throughly but it did not help. I took it to Art of Shaving and the body building type gentleman politely tells me we cannot do anything. He gives me a reason that they do not carry Panasonic electric shavers anymore and so I am on my own. $400 dollars spent and these folks have left me completely abandoned. Stay away from them. They look fancy and talk the talk but once the item is bought they will throw their hands up in the air if any issues come up.
Every time I go in I get nothing but the best customer service! They assisted my husband and I throughout the entire buying process and I couldnt imagine going anywhere else.
