The staff at Steinkellner is fantastic. They are all very professional, courteous and helpful. I have happily purchased paint there and they are a full-service decorating center. Recently, I had a need for wallpaper for a small room. Mary and Danielle are terrific to deal with. They bent over backwards and worked hard to find what I was looking for which was a page pulled from a magazine with no name(s) of manufacturers, designers, etc. ..... like looking for a needle in a haystack. Mary is so familiar with their massive amounts of inventory (wallpaper books) that she immediately said the name of the book with similar looks. I fell in love with what she picked. She recommended professional hangers because I wouldnt have a clue how to hang wallpaper and they are A-rated in Angies List; answered my request within a day and came over to measure (included) another day later. I cannot say enough good things about Steinkellner. It is a Tosa treasure - thats for sure!

We are building a new home and I was recommended here by a wallpaper installer, it was the best recommendation anyone could have provided! I came in with some Pinterest images and some home building samples hoping to find quality wallpaper to match. I worked with Mary, she is the reason for this review... what an incredibly talented decorator and really really good at finding exactly what you are looking for. I would show her an image and within minutes she would be pulling out wallpaper books that were even better than the Pinterest images. She helped us pick out wallpaper for our office, powder room, a could accent walls and niches. I can’t wait to see it all installed. Mary was so helpful, quick, and asked really good questions to help round down the “feel” of each space. She even went above and beyond helping me pick out wall paint colors that would go well with the papers. Did I forget to mention, she’s really fun to talk to as well?!I would recommend this store and MARY to anyone searching for the perfect wallpaper. Thanks again!

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, GREAT to work with...

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been shopping here for over 20 years. No matter what painting or staining project you need help with, the advice they provide assures that it will come out perfectly. Maureen can match any color or stain. On one occasion I was in the store while Maureen was assisting another customer. The gentleman brought in a cabinet door. He was updating his kitchen and did not want to replace all the cabinets just the doors. Maureen was able to match the stain perfectly and only the doors were replaced. He said he was happy because he saved a lot of money. He said the cabinets were original in the home and over 50 years old.

Knowledgeable and nice.I needed pourable epoxy that nobody else carried and they had the product and they read the instructions to help make sure it was the right product for me and to help me get an idea of how to use it. I’ll definitely go back in the future

Extremely knowledgeable staff—Ron and Eric really know their stuff! Not only in helping me with color matching but with the best exterior paint for stucco and an emergency phone call on how to get spilled furniture refinisher off of a treated lumber screen porch floor!

I stopped at Steinkellner for advice on how to re-paste a linen wall covering where corners and seams were coming loose. The woman who helped me recommended Roman Pro 732, applying it to both the wall and covering...so I bought a quart to try. The Roman Pro 732 worked wonderfully. If you need help with any wall coverings, Steinkellner is the place to go.

Ive been a customer of Steinkellners for decades. Through their expert advice and service, they have help me beautify the interiors of three homes over the years. Choosing the perfect color is paramount to the success of any painting project. Their staff is incredible at sifting through a half of dozen color fans to show and teach customers how to get to the hues and tones that will work with the furnishings and trim in the room. The staff at the big box stores simply can not consult at that level, and that is where the true value of a small, professional paint store is. Im happy to make the small additional investment needed to ensure the right color and the highest quality paint is going in my home.

They do a good job of matching stain

Not very friendly or helpful, and the paint costs significantly more even than at comparably sized stores. Trying to enjoy supporting a small business for our home improvement, but you guys dont make it easy.

The only real paint store in the state. The best products and service.

Although I was not approached by a sales rep when I arrived in the store, the young woman whom I asked for help was very knowledgeable, friendly, and steered me in the right direction. Choosing wallpaper can be an overwhelming task, yet once Danielle heard a few of the likes and dislikes I attribute to papers, she made sample selections that narrowed the field to make it manageable. I am reserving that fifth star until I am given a price and lead time for delivery!

I went into Steinkellner today and was looking for advice and help with painting my shutters. There was no one to be found to get help. Finally found 2 ladies and they seemed like I was interrupting their conversation. Finally got some help and they acted like I was some nuisance and were VERY rude. I wanted to help out local store but I think Ill go to Lowes or Home Depot because I know Ill get the customer service and help I deserve.

Fast friendly service, had exactly what I was looking for.

My in-laws shop here often and recommend me and my wife go here for matching some of the stains we had already in our home for our remodeling projects.We went, and although it was more pricy, they almost matched a stain for a replacement door exactly In just 10 minutes.Fast forward a couple weeks and we needed to match and add more molding to our basement. Went again, brought stained piece that needed matching and our wood we were going to apply it to. It looked perfect when we left.Stained the molding, and the difference couldnt have been more apparent. They had given us a dark expresso stain instead of our golden-light brown, and it was obviously just someone elses.Called to let them know and the man became defensive and accused me of not bringing in my wood. Then after assuring him I did he told me I must have put it on too hard or put on way too much.I asked if he could help fix the situation because now I had the wrong stain and wasted wood. He refused to help except for offering to show me how to put on stain if I brought it in.It was very alarmingly disrespectful and I wont be back.Its a shame that a local business that I had a very positive referral to and that did a great job for us our first time refused to offer any level of customer service besides blaming the customer and being disrespectful.Its easy to be a good business until you make a mistake- and its easy to be a bad one when you do.With all the friends I have buying houses at my age they burnt a lot of bridges over a quart of stain and an honest mistake they could have fixed with an ounce of civility and service.
