Overall installation was excellent. It took time for the installation to be scheduled due to the high demand, but when they had availability, it was done quick and easy!There was a communication issue but that was resolved (as for the reason of editing this review). They have a good office staff that helped with any issues or questions.

The customer service always goes above and beyond. They really go out of their way to make the customer happy. Great company.

UPDATE: Jan Fence says the salesman who ditched me had left the company and they werent getting my requests for help. Now that they have, they returned and upgraded the gate frames and repaired the damage -- new photo attached. Totally professional work, I thank you and commend your team!Original post: I got about 70ft of a 6 ft high wood fence and paid extra for metal gate frames with heavy duty hinges on a 10ft double-door gate so they wouldnt sag over time. They installed a metal frame on the gates that didnt connect to the standard duty hinges they used, so all the frames did was add weight and made the gates sag within months. In one year I couldnt close the gate anymore. Jan Fence hasnt responded to my requests to replace the frames with proper ones that transfer the load to the hinges. Even Home Depot and Lowes know thats the only way to do it, but Jan Fence was happy to take my money and run.

We have been a customer of Jan Fence since 1993 when we had our swimming pool installed. Over the years our neighbors trees have fallen and destroyed one side of our fence and it was time to have it repaired. We called Jan Fence because we were so happy with their work that they did back then and we are just as happy that we chose them again! Came to our house without a mask on during the Delta outbreak. We are immunocompromised and expect anyone coming to our property to be masked. When we asked the person to put one on and he didn’t even have one. So unsafe and unprofessional. Will be using another company.

I have had the worst customer service experience with Jan Fence. Consumer beware. We have contracted Jan Fence twice for two tiny jobs. On both occasions, the install time frame lapsed and BOTH times, Ive call to find out their status. BOTH times, theyve said they experienced unforeseen circumstances on the job prior to ours and that they would need to reschedule. A simple phone call, some common decency or just good business practices would have alleviated this. Mistakes happen, ok, I get it and totally understand. But to do this to your clients twice? Inexcusable. Dont waste your money.

From the sales person, Al, who was great and provided us all the information abou the projects, permits and everything, to the team that came to install the fence and did a phenomenal job. We quoted multiple companies for the same fence and Jan Fence had the best price and the best service, were very happy with our fence!

We Had a great experience with Jan Fence. Our salesman was Ryan. He was professional and measured everything very finely because we had to get a variance to install our fence and the installation had to be within the legal parameters. He went over all the measurements several times with his people and in the end it was perfect (few inches conservative). His installers were fast and professional too: four of them did the job in about 5-7 hours (forget exactly). My fences (one chain link and one PVC) are brand new so I cant comment on how long they last, I can only comment on our experience with them so far. Their price was fair and right in the range of estimates we got from other companies.

I had a 4-foot cedar picket fence replaced on about 1/2 acre of my yard. The quote was very reasonable and workmanship great. Installation was quicker than expected and my sales rep was always very quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend.

Although the ultimate result was what I wanted, it took them a number of times to install the fence correctly> The fence was supposed to be only an inch off of the ground, the extensions on the existing fence were supposed to be down to the ground, and the door had such a large space underneath it that they actually pulled MY landscape rocks and SHOVED them under the door to create the lack of space under it. The extensions were not only too high, but they were installed incorrectly - overlapping the posts instead of between the posts. In addition, there was so much space under the fence I could put my whole foot under it and slide up to my shin. When I called them and e-mailed pictures, my sales person called me up and basically said I have nothing to say - I dont know why this happened. He went on to state the installer worked for them for years, and he didnt understand why. He was genuinely shocked and said theyd fix it Sunday (it was Friday). So I said okay but not to charge my credit card the final payment until I was happy and he agreed. So early on Sunday my wife and I went outside to look to make sure we caught every issue and to our surprise and dismay, someone from Jan Fence had illegally snuck onto our property earlier and did some half baked repair (shoving dirt into the spaces instead of fixing the post, and trying to install the extensions correctly). Well I was livid to say the least. I called up again and to my salespersons surprise, he had nothing to say. He promised the installer would come back around noon to fix all issues and stay until its done. Then around 2:30 he showed up with his young daughter. I asked him why it was done wrong, and if it were his house, is that how hed do it - I got a blank stare and a nod of understanding. I went over all that I wanted fixed and it took him and his daughter hours in the rain, but it eventually was done. No sooner that the guy left did I get a call from my sales person Is it good now? Yes, its okay. Can we charge your card now? Thats all the concern really felt like. Get it done so we can charge this guy. No further apology, no offer of a discount or anything. That was the last time I heard from them. So I recommend you are home during install (I was away on business and my wife was there, but she didnt know anything about the fence and what was supposed to get done). The quality seems top notch, and Im happy with the results. But I should have done more homework and checked other companies out too. I dont think Ill use them again, but you can give them a shot if you want...just make sure you are present and watching during the process...

My husband and I were referred to Jan Fence by a family member and many of our friends and relatives have used them as well for the purchase and installation of their fences. This was hands down not only the BEST purchase we have ever made it was the BEST INSTALLATION we have ever seen been done by a company in a very long time. Our installers were Gus and I believe it was his son. They have Motoblur he best work ethic I have ever seen in a very very long time but they are professional and they treat your home as if it was their own. Very respectful and responsible and completed the job in one day and it was PERFECT! Not one issue or flaw. They cleaned up everything and they made sure we understood everything from start to finish. I just had a chain link fence installed in my backyard by Jan Fence and It was an excellent job done by really professional people. Luke and his team did an outstanding job and it took only one day for installation. Would recommend anyone looking for a fence to use these guys.

Currently, I am awaiting a phone call or email with a definitive installation date and have not received one for what will be four weeks on Monday. They promptly scheduled my non-contact estimate and promptly processed my deposit, but have delayed and failed to confirm an installation date for four weeks. As an essential worker in the healthcare industry, I recognize the impact of the pandemic, however we are no longer at its peak and they have failed to explain the reason for the delay, for example, possible shipping delays on supplies, increased scheduling, and or staffing shortages. Im thoroughly frustrated with the experience, and the sparsity of their communication and updates. Im hoping to receive some customer service recovery in an effort to quell my frustration and an exceptional installation that will be worth this experience. I would like to be able to update my review shortly.

I used this company in 2010 thought it was great and again 8/2018. Had a lot of fence installed this time. Was nervous because it’s a big investment.Best workmanship ever! Worth every penny. Sales Rep Anthony was spot on with recommendations.The work crew Wes and his men worked in the blazing heat and went above and beyond right to the clean up. They were amazing and I am so pleased. Neighbors have been complimenting the quality and how good it looks and couldn’t believe how these guys worked in the heat and did an amazing job.Office staff equally as nice ! We had a great experience working with Jan Fence.We just had a pool installed so we needed to have it fenced in. On the day of my appointment, there was a fallen tree on our property. Brians team re-routed the fence temporarily, so that we could finish fencing in our pool. After the tree was removed, Brians team came back another day to install the permanent fence. They worked half of the day, free of charge!The whole experience was very pleasant because Brian was very flexible and easy to work with. His team did a great job with the installation. They called me from my Angies List project and scheduled an estimate. I called the morning of the appointment to confirm and I was told someone was coming at 11 AM. I called again at 11:40 AM when no one had shown up. Someone then called me back at 11:50 AM and they informed me the appointment had been cancelled and they no longer service the area where I live. I did not receive any communication and I even called the same day to confirm. Suffice it to say my time was significantly wasted due to the company being unprofessional.

Great fence! Fast and friendly instillation. Ryan helped us choose the best fence for us and was very responsive in any followups helping us get the town permit and contract in order. We moved into our house 3 years ago which already had a fence, but we found that we needed one of the vinyl panels to be replaced with a gate. The sign on the fence said Jan Fence and because the fence was nicely installed before it was ours, we went with them. They took out the panel and installed a lovely gate. They did awesome work!! The gate looks great and they cleaned up the installation mess. If I ever need a new fence in this house or the next, Ill have this place install it.

After researching several fence companies in Northern NJ, I decided on going with Jan Fence. There rep who came out was prompt, professional and extremely thorough in his measurements and analysis of what the job required. I was considering several PVC style options for my back yard and he quoted it several different ways for me. I went to their show room and looked at the fence I was considering which is PVC w/black aluminum bars on the top. This is a style no other local companies offer and it looks much better than the PVC lattice or other PVC decorative options.The job was done last Monday. They came out in 100 degree heat and thunderstorms and still finished the job in 5 hours. The foreman was knowledgeable and made some valid suggestions during the install, such as running the fence on a slight angle instead of stair stepping which would leave large gaps under parts of the fence. This took more time and skill but looks much better than it would have. They had removed my entire old fence and when done they left the area spotless.Jan Fence was reasonably priced, although not the lowest quote I received. But for the extra couple of hundred dollars, I am glad I went with a reputable, quality company that I believe had a superior product. My neighbor who had his fence done a few years back came to look at it and noticed immediately the strength and quality of the fence over what he had installed. I would highly recommend this company.

Easy to talk to on the phone about our fence issues. Technician came out to our house and did a full assessment of the problems, and we received a detailed estimate within a day. Price was lower than we had expected. Repairs were completed according to schedule, and everything is now working perfectly. I had an appointment for an estimate scheduled with Jan Fencing, I left work early to be at home when they arrived, no one ever showed up. I called them and left a voicemail asking what had happened, 3 days later, no response, apology or anything. I totally understand when someone can’t make it somewhere, but it is courtesy to call the person and let them know.

Jan Fence provided a proposal that was more expensive then their competitor (not by much). But, the the guy who showed up to give me the estimate, Anthony, didnt bat an eye when he saw the rough terrain or the overgrown bushes. Their competitor wanted me to remove everything.Jan showed up Saturday morning and put in a 12 hour day. Sunday was a 10 hour day. The field supervisor, Wesley, was great! He figured out ways of giving me everything I wanted. He talked with two neighbors who were less than happy with the fence (they had exchanged some rather cross words with me for ruining their view of my nicely wooded back yard). He managed to calm them down without me being there. I was very pleased and highly recommend them!

Jan Fence installed a fence for us around my daughters yard to keep her dogs in. They were so professional to work with, starting with Ryan who came out to measure, and returned when we had some survey problems. We had a timing issue, and they were accommodating in every way possible. The installers were top notch and were careful with the details. As realtors, we plan on referring Jan Fence to our clients. I had about 60 feet of white PVC fence installed in our backyard. I would have rated Jan Fence higher except that the installer asked me to use MY saw to remove some roots that were in the way of the fenceposts. I found that highly unusual and this meant that I had to call the person who did our estimate to oversee what was going on. My sense is that the crews are not employees of Jan Fence and they were simply looking to NOT use their tools if they could. That was shady. Otherwise, the fence was nicely installed. They could have cleaned up some roots and debris better as well. Not exactly sure Id recommend them and they are on the pricey side, although that may be worth it ultimately if the fence lasts longer.

We have Active Yards fencing from mid-house that surrounds our back yard which has an in ground pool. Recently, I noticed that one post had started to lean and saw that the concrete was exposed. I called for service, and a gent named Walter came to determine the issue and provide an estimate. Subsequently, two repairmen came and corrected all the issues (other small items like gate latch adjustment, etc.) noted by Walter. I am completely satisfied with how efficient they were, how they cleaned up after the work was completed and lastly by how courteous they were. If any other issues surface I will certainly call Jan Fence for repairs. They are top notch in my book.

I had damage to my chain link fence from the last snow storm we had. A pine tree fell on it. I got 3 estimates. Two of the companies told me the whole section had to be replace and wanted to charge me $650.. When Jan fence came they told me all the parts did not have to be replaced. They did a beautiful job! You would never know it had been damaged. It cost me under $400 .I would definitely recommend them! Great customer service and Honest!

We met with four fence companies including Jan. We found that Jan was the most direct, came out to the property several times, answered all questions quickly. No hidden fees. Our property is very uneven with large rocks. The fence was installed beautifully and evenly. The installers worked from 8:30 in the morning until 7:00 at night in the freezing rain. They took tremendous pride in their work. We are so pleased with the fence installation and would highly recommend Jan.

I was initially excited about the knowledge of Anthony in sales but went downhill from there. Install was poor. They made a mess of my property and driveway. They finally came back, but still not right. My issues were not handled professionally. Very frustrating and disappointing.

They arrived late without having the courtesy to call. No conversation no discussion! What a scam! Take Jan Fence off your list unless you want to bend over!

After speaking to and getting quotes from multiple fence companies, we hired Jan Fence to enclose our entire back yard. They were very knowledgable, courteous, and extremely professional from our initial contact with them. We could not be happier with our choice.The back of our yard is wetlands so when asked what would be the best option for us, Brian, our salesperson, suggested installing deer fence in the wetlands and vinyl fence for the remainder of our yard. He was very knowledgable and explained what would be done so that we were at ease and knew exactly what we paying for. His confidence, knowledge, and honesty is the main reason we decided to go with Jan Fence.Brian was a pleasure to work with and came out multiple times without hesitation, even though we live in NY...about 45 minutes from the Wayne showroom. Gato and his hard working crew were also wonderful to work with. They knew exactly what they were doing and were extremely meticulous when doing the install. Even though the yard sloped down as it got to the back, they installed the fence so that is sloped down very gradually and looked beautiful,while at the same time making sure not to leave much space for animals to get through the bottom.
