Its a good old fashion hardware. Loads of DIY items you cant find at the big box home centers anymore. I noticed their work force is a bit more advanced in years. Sorry younger folks but the best service comes with age and thus experience. Prices are a little higher but you get what you pay for. Selection and variety come with a price. They also have handicap and veterans parking right at the entrance. Its a good place.

Small place, but they have everything that you NEED and nothing you dont. Unlike the big guys. Ill always choose this place as my hardware store. A few years ago they even donated tools to the community garden I manage!

During the pandemic, they are choosing to stick to their minimum amount for card purchase. I dont care.. I can go get cash out of my truck, but when I expressed the issue with requiring a cash transfer and the increased risk to the employees, they didnt want to hear it. In fact, no less than four people chipped in on the conversation. One stating, just finish his purchase and get him the hell out of here and another, it would be best if you just didnt say anything at all. Ill find another local to support and you should too.

Took my 90 year old mother there today in hopes of finding a table top Christmas tree. For the size she needed her option was a 2 tree & wreath box set or a snow sprayed tree...she didnt love either. The owner came over and tried to help. This sweet man took one of the trees out of the box set and sold it to her. Thank you ...you made her so happy. 💕

I like the size and how well stocked the store is, but wouldve been nice if someone wouldve offered to help me(a lady) get the 6foot table to my car. It was a struggle with the cart because the entrance way is narrow. Thank goodness a few customers helped me. The store in Redford took it to my car both times I went there.

Northside used to be the best hardware store, what happened. over 2 months ago my wife took 3 screens to them to be re screened. the employee that took the screens in broke them down and put the pieces together a few weeks later i got a call saying he didnt know how to put them back together. so i measured the windows for him he said he would get to them later that day. well that was over a month ago so my wife called them and they had no record on them, so she got a refund of the deposit. where are my screens? the manage said he would find out and call. I talked to him he said he threw them in the garbage. no call nothing he threw them out. I said what are you going to do he said nothing and claimed he called my wife and she was going to come get them. never called us. just threw them out, now i will log a complaint with BBB, and give them 1 more chance to make this right, or a lawsuit will be in order.

I have been going to this place for well over a decade even though everything is overpriced compared to the big stores(HD, Lowes .and etc). And I did that because they had something the big stores didnt, good customer service. And after my last two visits I will never step foot in this place again. I went there for a key to be made. The first visit they call a guy to come make it and he has an obvious frustration for even being called. I try to be friendly and he doesnt even acknowledge my existence beyond the handing over of keys. Well needless to say the key did not work and I had to make a trip back. This time the girl behind the counter calls a different guy up there. This guy comes up there with the same obvious disdain for being called up there. The girl at the counter hands him both my original key and the copy that did not work. He asks the girl which is the original(ignoring me standing there), she didnt know so I tried tell him and then try to explain why the copy didnt work(they were not the same cut of keys, they were similar but not the same). He still didnt even acknowledge me and I felt like he was completely ignoring me(which turns out he was). Then while he was working on my key 3 more costumers came in for keys. He set mine to the side and handled everyone elses needs. At some point he got back to working on my key, finished it and just threw them on the cashiers counter without me or the cashier noticing and without saying a word to either of us. As hes cleaning up and putting stuff away the cashier notices my keys on her counter. Calls me over and says sorry I didnt realize he put your keys over here. I look at the keys and neither were my original key. I ask her for it, she asks him and he gets an attitude with her. She goes over to try and help him find my key and he gets rude with her just go, I obviously have to cut it again seeing as I cut the wrong key the others probably wont work either. He finally finds my original, cuts another copy and hands her the keys. And I look at them to realize he cut from the same base key the original guy did. So he really was completely ignoring me while I tried to tell him which was the original and why the first copy didnt work. I gave the girl the copied key, told her I was going somewhere else and left. Good job, you lost a life long customer over a damn $2 key and being a jerk.

Horrible service here, first & only time Ill visit. Staff gave me incorrect information multiple times that turned what shouldve been a simple task into a huge hassle. Then ended up having to pay more than expected bc I was originally told and charged the wrong price. No apology for the screw up - just a thats how much it costs honey from the owner. Id hoped a locally owned store would be a nice change of pace from the big box stores, boy was I wrong!
