They came out and did an inspection and Sandy will not return calls/emails to do the recommended work. Seems like others have had the same communication issues.

We love our new wood stove. High Quality Stove! Sandy really did a great job assisting us in picking out the best stove for our needs. It took awhile to get it because middle of winter and she had to order it. The guys that installed it were very professional!!! They did a great job and explained everything and answered all my questions.

Couldnt even get a call back. We were looking to switch over our current wood burning stove to a pellet stove. We visited the showroom and they were closed with a sign stating they are by appointment only - due to what other than Covid, the new royal excuse of the century.... so we called several times and left a few voicemails and no one ever returned our call. Opposite way of which a business should be run in my opinion.

We established an appointment with Sandy to meet in the stores showroom in Waynesville. We had a very productive meeting and we set a date for one of their field service men to visit our home and establish a budget to install a gas wood style decorative heating stove. The gentleman arrived on time, was very friendly, he took measurements and photographs of the existing wood burning stove and even climbed the roof to inspect the chimney and flue pipe.We thought this company was going to be the answer to our quest to install a gas heater. This is where it all fell apart. No follow up.We have called and left messages for Sandy 4 times with no return call, no text message and no email. Complete crickets.I hope they are all in good health. Unfortunately from our experience they appear to be out of business. We are now looking elsewhere for our gas stove needs.

I needed a new damper fabricated and an associate came to my home to measure. The very courteous gentleman told me it should take one to two weeks. This was late July, 2020, and it is now October. After several phone calls to the company I have received no response. I have since gone with another company and hope to have better luck. Clean Sweep is not a local business I will support in the future.

I don’t know how this company stays in business. Over a period of two weeks last year I called, left voice mails and submitted their website contact form to no avail. I did this five times during the two week period with NO response. I took my business to Asheville. I note from other negative reviews similar comments. Not a way to run a service business.

I am a patient person and often times let things go, but after installation of my wood stove/chimney pipe wasnt done correctly and could have been very dangerous, I felt it neccessary to comment. Aside from the safety issue, this store took 8 months to complete my job, they lacked in communication and overall had very poor customer service. I would not recommend that anyone use them.

Great customer service from start to finish! I called and they set a time to come clean and inspect my chimney. The technician Chris was on time, professional, and super knowledgeable. We will definitely be using them in the future for all our fireplace needs!

Very disappointed. I have tried and tried to get them to install a woodstove at my house. I contacted them on March 6th. Finally they sent someone out to take measurements and assess the project on July 21st. After that I couldnt get anyone to return calls or emails. In mid-August they responded and on Sept. 2nd they said they would get a quote out to me ASAP. Today is November 7th and I still havent heard from them! I tried my best to keep using local businesses but they just dont seem to want the business. 8 months and still not even a quote.

I had just bought a new house and after a week of dealing with late or no show service people, Patrick was a breath of fresh air.He was running ahead of schedule and called to see if he could come early, which was great with me.Knowing nothing about the 3 different fireplaces in my house, once Patrick was done servicing them, he was all to happy to spend time explaining each one and answering ALL my questions.The price was right and the service was spectacular. We will definitely be using Clean Sweep again and again and will recommend them to anyone that will listen.

Excellent Service. Sandy came out to look at our fireplace and measure for appropriate wood stoves. It was very reassuring to have her assess the situation in person. They had the stove quickly and even navigated an error from the wood stove manufacturers in time to be ready for our scheduled install. The two technicians that came to do the install were kind, thorough, respectful and answered all my questions. They took the time to check on a concern wed reported to Sandy about our oil furnace and caught a safety and efficiency issue that our regular providers had not addressed despite annual maintenance. Above and beyond expectations in all categories. We will continue to have Clean Sweep maintain our stove and chimney and have already recommended them to friends.

Fantastic all around! The quality of the work on our new fireplace is wonderful, the guys were always punctual and polite, and Alex, the owner, was incredibly professional and offered great communication throughout the process. And of utmost importance, they started the job 3 WEEKS EARLY and stayed right on budget. Can’t say enough good things about this company. I would highly recommend.

Hard to rate this one. The chimney sweeping portion had great communication and the tech arrived on time, was friendly and completed the task efficiently. The store however is a different story. Nobody answers the phone or returns calls. Either understaffed or something else is going on, but I think I’ll forego using them again in the future.

I would recommend this company to others. I bought a new house and found myself near the Clean Sweep office location. Given I have a woodstove with some noticeably poor piping (flue into chimney) I thought I would have them do a sweep and inspection of the chimney and flue. The cost of the sweep was competitive and did not change, even after Jeremy arrived to perform the sweep and noticed many large chunk-like deposits of creosote in the chimney. Needless to say, it was in very poor shape, and needed a lot of cleaning. Jeremy showed us the creosote in the chimney and after cleaning he noticed clear evidence of past creosote fires and cracking of the chimney. After showing us what he saw the evidence was undeniable; we needed a liner to have a safe and healthy home, period. We received our quote in a timely manner and the work was performed without adjustment. Sure they got some smudges on the paint that was around the flue, but what can you expect, they put in some really hard and dirty work folks! Now I can enjoy the comfort of my wood stove with peace of mind knowing that it is safe to use. I encountered kind, respectable, personable, and hard working individuals with clean sweep. Patrick, the owner, was very responsive and professional. We had some concerns and wanted our stove pipe replaced. Patrick responded quickly, and came to our home to see and learn about our concerns, and then handled everything to our satisfaction. We appreciated his communication, professionalism, and his honesty.

After having researched for weeks and traveled around the area to find a supplier, we decided on The Fireplace Shop because it was a local source. My husband is a retired contractor and I am an Interior Designer so we are careful about who we choose to do business with. The people at The Fireplace Shop were professional, kind and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our selection and they totally took care of it for us and were nice about doing so. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment. And Patrick is a GEM.

I called Clean Sweep at 10AM asking to have someone come out and clean my chimney. At 1PM Alex and Chris came to my door ready to do business... They did an outstanding job. They put down mats to catch any soot or ash that came from the wood stove. They were very careful getting on the roof and took their time to be sure everything was clean and inspected everything to be sure there were no problems. After the cleanings they took pictures to document what they did. They also built a test fire and made sure the stove worked properly. I was extremely happy with their service and would recommend them to everyone.

They were on time, friendly, and very professional. I called several people and they were the only one who called back promptly and who called me back with what seemed like a good knowledge of what I needed. felt good about letting come to my house. I will definitely use them again if the need arises and will recommend them to others.

Rory was very efficient, friendly, and informative with our chimney sweep. Showed us pictures of before and after the sweep. Used a sheet so he would not leave a mess in the house. Made suggestions of upcoming maintenance for this next year as a heads-up, which was greatly appreciated! Will definitely be using again next year!

Brian and Tim went over and above to help me get things working so that I could have a fire for Christmas. They were knowledgeable, thoughtful and courteous, smiling and very pleasant and answered my many questions. They were mindful of replacing furniture that required moving and cleaned up after the installation.

I am totally pleased with the work by Alberts Clean Sweep of Waynesville, NC. The workers were skilled, courteous and helpful. I felt very comfortable with them being in my home and appreciate how polite and helpful they were. The company is fortunate to have such skilled workers as Michael and Ricky. It was an extensive job to tear out the old firebox and rebuild a new one, remove the liner, remove an old nonfunctioning heating pipe system and repair the outside chimney. They were very good about cleaning up after themselves each day and never left me with a mess.

I cant believe I have been asked to review. Well...the chimney sweep seemed to be good. Nice young man, who talked like he knew what he was doing. I hope all is well when I build a fire in the winter. However, when he left my house he hit a huge rock I had placed to keep people out of the ditch and my flowers. He backed out of drive way and, as young people do, was either in a hurry or just a bad driver, hit the rock and almost pushed it into the deep ditch it was there to keep people from driving into. He was careless. I wont use them again.

Our experience with Clean Sweep has been fantastic. They are prompt and efficient. The initial cleaning was done extremely well and when we had a small problem shortly thereafter, they returned and fixed the problem right away. The office personnel are kind and courteous. Patrick did an excellent job with the initial cleaning and Tom was so efficient in fixing our problem later on. I recommend Clean Sweep wholeheartedly.

Alex from Clean Sweep is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I can tell that Alex takes pride in his work. The wood stove pipe did not have screws for the piping. Instead of leaving it as he had originally found, he explained for safety it would be best to have the joints held together with the self tapping screws. He offered and installed them right away. He represents Clean Sweep well.

Do not use this company. They did flashing in 2017 but chimney began leaking in jan 2019. Called for their help to fix leak and 10 days later they send one man out who suggests we need a cap over the other caps already on chimney. 2 weeks later, they said they need to measure for new cap again. 6 weeks later, I still dont have a new cap. Good that I found a roofer to fix chimney leak as this company has poor quality work, slow service, and unresponsive to me. Have found another chimney sweep company that knows what they are doing.

Company does not communicate. Paid too much for a service that did not fix problem. Two months later I had creosote pouring out the front of my stove & not able to keep a fire. They did not care or try to communicate. It took them almost 2 weeks to get back with me after I called multiple times. I called Black Mountain Stove & Chimney and they called me back within an hour & got to my house the next day. They understood the emergency and the threat of a chimney fire. Clean Sweep has no integrity.

I called this morning to schedule a cleaning when my stove started up so badly it wouldnt burn, expecting to see a technician next week some time, but when they found out that my wood stove was my primary source of heat, they said theyd be out in half an hour. My stove is running like new, and the two technicians made zero mess and were so friendly and polite. And to top it all off, they were great with my dogs and two-year-old son.

The service, professionalism, and courtesy extended by our installer, Rory, is unlatched. Im very grateful for his help with replacing our broken gas fireplace. He truly went above and beyond to give us a warm mountain winter.

At first I thought this was the best company, read the reviews and was excited to have one of the stoves!! Also, they had great communication to start and sent someone out very quickly. Even called to confirm the appt the day before (when you are super busy this is so helpful). That is where communication ended:( After the young man came to my home he said he would get back to me very quickly with an idea of how much it would cost, said it would take a day or two, and well this is two weeks latter and still havent heard. I called after a week to check, the first time they said it was almost ready, I thought great!! and waited, checking my email daily and voice-mail. Then another week passed and I called back, this time I was told it would be about a month!! I just wish they would have told me that in the first place - very upsetting experience.P.S. Also, something I didnt like and thought was just odd was after looking at my fireplace and talking a bit I asked Alex what he thought I was looking at price wise and he quickly said about $5000, I said well that is way more than I thought it would be and that I was thinking under $3000, that that would be something I could afford, well he then said we can do that under 3000, so why I wonder did the price drop down $2000?? Something is up with these guys!! This is the first review I have ever written and I am doing so to warn others, if you are looking for honesty and someone reliable to get the job done this is not the place to go!!! I have a feeling if I would have said ok to $5000 I would have a stove by now and been happy with the warmth and comfort but not known that I could have gotten a stove and installation from another company for only $2450, that included a dutch-west oven to heat 1400, and installation.... SHOP AROUND!!!!

This company is a joke. They came to my house to give me an estimate and I’ve been following up for more than 4 weeks trying to get a written estimate. Every time I call back in they never write down my email. It’s like they don’t want any new work. I can never trust them to hire. Move on to someone else.

This company is awesome. I had come to them for a second opinion- actually, a third. I had had my chimney swept by a different company- who in doing their inspection noticed that there was a dent in my outside piping on the roof. When they got on my roof, they took the cap off and were able to hammer out the dent, but, they said that the inside liner was ajar from the one below it and that they could not get it to seat inside the lower liner. I was told to definitely not use my fireplace until I had replaced the entire unit- giving me a quote of @$9,500 for the job. Needless to say, I did not want my house to burn down, but I thought that before I invested that kind of money, I should get a second opinion. The second company came out and performed an inspection using his camera from the inside looking at all the joints and told me that he saw nothing wrong with the system. But he did not get on my roof to inspect it from that end.So, now I am bewildered and want a third opinion. I called Clean Sweep. Their inspector, Jeremy, did a stellar job of easing my mind by getting up on my high pitched roof, taking my unit apart from the top and making sure that everything was secure, intact and safe to burn. I watched him check the housing of the interior lining and could see that it seemed secure. It was an opportunity that he could have lead me the other way. They could have made a good sale knowing my story. But, they did not. So, guess who has gained my trust?Clean Sweep was very professional in promptly returning my calls, discussing the best steps to go through to assess my concerns, and arriving on time for our appointment. I highly recommend them. I had Jeremy put me down on their schedule for next years sweep.

Submitted their online contact form twice, but they never contacted me. Ridiculous to me that people have these online forms but they never respond to them. I’ll move on to someone who wants the business enough to be responsive.

My husband and I are in the process of doing a complete remodel on a Victorian farmhouse in Waynesville. I contacted Clean Sweep last year for an inspection and quote on chimney repair. The man they sent was very straightforward, gave me a price quote for relining, and emailed me a document containing detailed information about each problem with the chimney. We opted to wait and fix more pressing issues first, since it was fairly expensive. I called two months ago to make an appointment to have the job finished. I spoke with Beth, who told me it had been so long they would have to send someone else to reinspect, even though they still had my info. I thought this was strange at the time but agreed. She promised to get back with me the next day and ended up calling over a week later. We made an appt and I was told someone would call to confirm, which never happened. I assumed they werent coming, although they did just show up, half an hour late. I was also told I would have to pay half in advance, though no one was able to tell me how much that would be. When I mentioned the first quote I received I was told that the young man no longer works there, and apparently his quote went with him. The second time around I was told I would need additional items..but still no price quote! Then the second inspector told my husband they would have to send a third, I suppose to tack on even more money. Beth said someone would get back with us in the next few days, and that was the last we heard. This was over a month ago. The only assumption I can make is that they planned to take us for all they could, and when we got suspicious they disappeared. Luckily we found a reliable service who did mention that we were not the first customers that have come their way because theyd been burned by Clean Sweep.

Do NOT use this company. I am so underwhelmed with my stove, the customer service was horrible.

Our great experience we had with Clean Sweep started with Jeremy Conard coming out to sweep our chimney. Jeremy showed me that our firebox had been improperly installed having wood 2x4’s right against the metal box. The wood was charred. Our house could have burned down.When the firebox was pulled out Jeremy’s team uncovered rotted wood caused by a leak where the chimney meets the roof. A contractor was called out and discovered the whole side and base of the chimney had water damage and had to be rebuilt. The chimney was constructed using a cantilever system that hangs over our garage. If we did not have a disastrous fire, the chimney would have eventually collapsed onto the driveway below.Jeremy and his team coordinated their work with the contractor. Once the chimney was rebuilt, Jeremy and his team from Clean Sweep came and installed a new firebox, much more efficient than our original. I was impressed by Jeremy’s ability to solve multiple problems we had with our fireplace, including finding matching stonework we had installed 13 years earlier, purchased from a company that had since gone out of business.Jeremy Conard and his team from Clean Sweep went far beyond what I ever expected them to do to make our fireplace safe and efficient, one that we will enjoy for many years to come. After a chimney fire on March 2nd 2013 we called Clean Sweep to inspect our chimney and they found that it was damaged... to make a long story short these folks went out of their way to help us.... the office personnel were great and the 4 guys that came out on March 21st to install the flue liner and the new heater were OUTSTANDING....they worked outside most of the day in some brutal weather conditions ... 20 degrees and windy......dont know how the stood it.... Nice folks, however they are extremely proud of what they have, a fair purchase price isnt in the equation whenever talking to them.

We had a tech come out last year to check our Lopi Greenstart unit that they installed because the remote was no longer working properly. The tech determined that that We needed a replacement. After many phone calls, emails and an inquiry to the manufacturer who stated that they do not sell to individuals and that we should go through our supplier, we still do not have a response from Clean Sweep or a working remote. VERY DISSATISFIED. Do not know where to turn next...we spent a lot to get this and now they will not back theyre product.
