This is my first time with Extra Space Storage, and its been an amazing experience to say the least. I obtained my unit via telephone with Brantley and it went as well as I could have expected. She was incredibly helpful and friendly. I met Monica at my local location and shes already gone above and beyond for me. My girlfriend had gone up there recently and the lock wasnt properly secured and Monica called to advise me of such. We ended up unloading our storage unit just a couple of days after we had already paid the monthly bill, and Monica refunded us for the days we didn’t end up using but had already paid for! I have been to this place two times. Each time the staff has been so nice, it reminds me of the people that I see in church.At the end of my registration, I was asked to provide a 5-star review. I will give staff a 5-STAR.The complex has good blacktop and there are multiple mouse traps around the area. The landscaping crew were there, and they were walking on the roof of the storage units blowing off debris. The units are well built with expanding foam sealing off any holes or gabs that might be there. There was no water in the unit.The units are well made with no way that a person could hop over to the next unit. Units are single wall.Electrical - The area is well lit with multiple security cameras. I was disappointment to see multiple places where electrical conduit was broken in half. When I approached the employee (nice lady) she stated that she never noticed that before (which no average person ever would).Three places where conduit connections were unsupported, broke and now you have expose wiring. Is it really a fire hazard – No. It is just not up to NEC code. It was stated that it was for the camera, but upon further review, the exposed wiring, which is now holding up the conduit, powered the security lights – 120-volt AC.I also pointed out where there was a square junction box without a cover. I was told that there was a security camera there and the camera was removed. They should have put a cover on the box upon removing the wire.There is the main entrance and the back entrance. If you take the middle lane, it will do a loop back to the front gate. On my first solo visit to my rented storage unit, I took the top lane and it led me to the rear gate. Since I was pulling an 18-foot trailer, I did not want to back up so I decided to exit the facility, turn around at an intersection, and come back through the gate. I saw two yellow poles on the outside of the gate which made me think there was a keypad there. These yellow poles are the same ones inside the facility and at the main entrance to protect the keypads from being hit by vehicles. I exited, turned around and then realized that there was no keypad to input the gate code to get back inside the premises.I called the facility and told them where I was, who I was, and what happened. Upon verifying where I was and who I was, the employee actually stepped out of the office to verify, she opened the gate – good job. It was nice to see that the employee did not just open the gate for someone that called and said, “I can’t get in.”I wish there was a sign that stated, EXIT ONLY – NO RE-ENTRYThe gates are operated by an inputting a 5-digit code. The gates have a pressure switch so that if they close onto a vehicle or trailer, it will not do damage. This is similar type of protection that you see on elevators.I was disappointed to see that the strain relief for the cable that connects to said gate pressure switch was not properly attached and secured. It is so noticeable; it should have been corrected.If you want to store you stuff here, you will be fine. Good location, and plenty of space to maneuver a trailer. The complex is completely made of concrete and metal – thus there is nothing to burn. There are multiple fire extinguishers that have been checked out by an 3rd party to be operations around the site.It should also be stated that there is a good slope to the complex to move water away from the units. The units have a “lip” so that water can not flow into the storage units.Once again, I was asked to give a five-star review and they deserve it. If these issues that I brought up are corrected, I will modify my rating to five-star.

I just wanted to let everyone know that this company has great customer service. I had a very stressful situation and needed information about the units and the area, as I was calling from another state. I spoke with Kay who was very polite and patient me. She was able to answer all my questions . In the end I didn’t need to rent anything but if I ever had to rent a unit I would definitely call them first.
