This place deserves more than 5 stars. My experience was very pleasant. The staff is very professional, very respectful and always with a smile on their faces. I’m glad I chose this place to take my mother. The technician, Alma was very helpful and very professional with my mother. Doctor Jackie, took her time to explain everything with detail. Excellent service from the receptionist to the tech, doctor, and glasses expert. I am 60 yo with a lifetime of nearsightedness, astigmatism, and now bifocals. I ordered both glasses and prescription sunglasses. The staff went above and beyond to make sure what I needed and wanted was achievable. As always, Dr Brending is professional, pleasant, and exceptional in her care. Been a patient for 20 years, I’m currently living in California but visiting family here this week. Don’t want to go anywhere else. So, came from CA to TX to get glasses.

And if you dont have insurance, they offer a low cost family insurance plan, which is very helpful. Im so glad we decided to come here.

They seems to have the latest technology and are current with the latest Eyewear. They explained things in terms that most any person could easily understand. I just moved to clear lake and needed a new eye doc. Clear Lake Eye Center’s office is clean and appears to be well run. All staff I encountered were congenial and frequently sanitized which is reassuring with corona still on the loose. The tech did an excellent job of walking me through the gauntlet of fancy eye machines. Several futuristic ones I hadn’t seen before but I’m confident will keep me from going blind. Dr. Hernandez was personable and knowledgeable. 20/15 until next time.

This place is amazing! My family and I walked in and was greeted immediately. The place was super clean and they are practicing social distancing and sanitizing properly so we felt safe and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and truly made us feel like we could try on the glasses with no worries. They have you put the glasses you try on aside so that they can run them through a UV sanitizing machine. Everyone was excited to help us with anything that wee needed. We were all so amazed at the quality of care and the time taken to fully explain in great detail so that we could understand our eye health and needs. Turns out I didnt need glasses at all, just the drug store cheaters. They did not try to sell me glasses that I really didnt need. Our son also did not needs glasses as his vision only requires the lowest power they can make. They suggested we wait. Again, they did not try to make a sale just to make a sale. They actually care!!!! This is by FAR the best eye center we have ever been visited. I only wish that ALL service/healthcare business could be this good at what they do. Thank you Clear Lake Eye Center for such a great experience. We will certainly be back and tell everyone we know about your great service!

This was my first time going to an eye doctor in 10+ years! Dr. Hernandez was super professional and explained to me exactly what was going on with my vision The accommodating staff is super friendly and helpful going through all the different test they have--dont worry they are very thorough with the current stationary rules in place. The office is very clean and organized. Cleanliness activities are performed and clean areas identified during social distancing requirements due to COVID-19. We interacted with four different people during the visit and had excellent experiences with each of them. These included the optometrist technician performing initial tests, optometrist performing eye exam, glasses fitting technician, and office manager for check out and bill payment. I received a thorough explanation of the test results and recommended next steps needed to address a dry eye condition. I would highly recommend this business.

Excellent customer service. They were able to see me quickly when I realized I was out of contacts. When I arrived I was promptly greeted and seen after a short wait. The technicians and doctors are very personable and explained everything thoroughly. The facility is clean and exceeding covid policy to ensure public and staff safety. The on site optical department offers many stylish selections. I’m glad I was referred to this facility. The Flipse family will continue to use them.

Rude & uneducated!After getting permission by an employee to sit (without a mask) away from the only other person in the lobby until our exam, as we were about to start our paperwork, a man (followed by an employee who obviously decided it was her business to interject herself into the matter) approached us and told us we needed to put on a mask.I told him we were given permission to sit apart from the other person without a mask while waiting and we would mask when we were called back for our exam. I also stated the mandate suggests a mask to be worn WHEN you cannot social distance and we would wear the mask during the exam. He very nervously told us “this establishment requires a mask to protect others who may be immunocompromised“. I could understand if the place was crowded or small, but we were sitting on the other end of the large lobby with no one around us! He said if we were not willing to mask we could leave, so we left.We do not buy into this supposedly “smart” virus that doesn’t spread when you’re eating or drinking, or sitting at a restaurant, or are farther than 6’ 1” from another person, and in order to know if you have it you have to test! All the latest science proves masks do not prevent this virus. They took our temperature at the door and we were not coughing, no running nose, no symptoms of having any illness. It is astounding to me how many fearful sheep there are in this area! GET EDUCATED!We called another eye care center while sitting in the parking lot and they were able to see us. We were able to fill out paperwork unmasked while social distancing, and masked for our exam. They did not require our temperature to be taken. The lobby and rooms were clean and comfortable, the employees were very friendly and the doctor was thorough and professional! We found our new eye care professionals!Response to the nervous guy/manager:The one star rating is due to our extremely negative experience. After our temperatures were taken, we asked, and received permission to distance from others without a mask while waiting for our exam. We did not expect to be confronted after this was deemed “ok”. The issue is your facility is not abiding by the governor’s mandate of “IF you cannot social distant, a mask is to be worn.” Masks cause illnesses. Science and medically proven fact. The less time/instances people have the mask over their nose and mouth, the better for their health. We did not refuse to wear a mask at the beginning. Only after we were given permission by your co-worker to wait sans mask while distancing, and then were confronted by you and permission was revoked, did it become an issue. Your establishment is feeding the fear and as long as businesses keep demanding these cloth face diapers to be worn (that do not protect anyone), the powers that be will continue demanding continuous use! As I stated, your protocol is outside the governor’s suggestions. This is not a law, and you forcing healthy people to mask up when there is more than enough space to distance from others, is ridiculous! No, we will not return to this establishment, ever.

Dr. Brending is a wonderful doctor. She gets my prescription the most precisely it has ever been. I will also say that Michael is a spectacular person to get your glasses fitting perfectly. He has a specialized and historical knowledge about lens materials, coatings, and mechanics of frames that ensures a superior, comfortable fit every time! I came in close to closing time and he spent time carefully considering options with me and getting my glasses to fit just right. Best customer service ever!

I’ve never had better vision and I owe it to the doctors at Clear Lake Eye Center. They have a lot of technology that many providers don’t. I don’t even have to dilate my eyes and still receive more information about my eye health than I ever have before. The staff all take their time with me and answer my questions. I’ve never had a negative experience since I switched to them a few years ago. I can’t see myself going anywhere else and receiving the same quality of care.

Dr Brending is kind, patient and personable... and her office has all of the latest state-of-the-art equipment to provide superior care. And their optical department is first class. Procedures and extra costs clearly explained. Worked with me on certain situations. Doctor spent extra time with me, which I appreciated as a new patient, since there were others waiting. New products introduced and explained but never felt pressured into purchasing anything. Decided to upgrade from readers to actual reading glasses. Optical center on site with a nice selection of frames and extremely helpful staff. Good choice for me on the first try of finding a really great Optometrist.

She even helped find a pharmacy that stocks a difficult to find medication that I need.The glasses were reasonably priced and they do the prescription grinding in-house, which I always appreciate.Over all, Im very impressed with the practice. Clear Lake Eye Center expanded its space earlier this year which allowed them to install new high technology testing equipment. All three members of our family went in on the same afternoon. The receptionists, testing staff, Dr. Brending, and fitting staff were excellent, as usual. Cindy and Michael spent a lot of time assuring that we would get the best lenses and frames at the best price combining insurance and discounts. Great, courteous, and friendly service.

I saw Dr. Brending last year, and this year saw Dr. Chen as Dr. Brending wasnt available on the day I needed (I called last minute, so am very happy they were able to get me in on such short notice). I would recommend either doctor without hesitation. They have the most up-to-date technology (including scanners that mean you dont have to have your eyes dilated with drops), and are sure to explain everything theyre doing. The front office staff and technicians are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff are always friendly and personable, and the office is run very efficiently so the patients arent sitting and waiting for long periods. She takes the time to explain in detail all of the various tests and what they mean, as well as what should be done to promote eye health.

Clear Lake Eye Center is an excellent choice for your eye care. I have been going here for several years now and the doctors and staff here are always great. Today I was having quite a bit of discomfort with one of my contacts and assumed I had scratched that eye...I called them up and explained what was going on and asked what was the soonest I could get an appt? They brought me in this same day even though no open appts were available...I know that is the kind of personal care that I want and that is what keeps me coming to them. Two thumbs up!!
