Nice variety of items from fresh fish & cheese to many spices, staples, and mixes. Frozen items such as sausage and meats as well as other Greek items. Varieties of olive oil, gnocchi, jams, candy, etc. Fresh baklava and other sweets as well. Worth the trip! Great prices too.

This is my go to place to get stuff to make my own gyros! The greek food is just great there. The entrance/ exit area is slippery on a wet day. BE CAREFUL. The service is slow. I would only go there for the special stuff.

Avoid this company if possible. I ordered cheese which arrived hot and melted and even after I refrigerated it in a futile attempt to save it, turned moldy after 2 days. Product was incorrectly packaged, not labeled as perishable, and only had a tiny 2 inch ( if that ) sized ice pack which was HOT when I got package. Poor customer service response-it took 3 emails to even get a response, which amounted to “should have read warning and paid for overnite delivery” I have looked for this warning and don’t see it anywhere. Maybe product is good if purchased in store but not online ordered . Never again would I use or recommend this company to anyone!

This place is full of awesome harder to find and unique food products. The gyros on Friday are only like $5 and they are huge and taste amazing!! Cant believe their shop was hit by a drunk driver, but I hope they are doing okay so far! Definitely support this local business if you get the chance

Not a huge store but they have a great selection of items. Between the fabulous selection of frozen items and the wide range of meats to the selection of pantry items, you cant go wrong here!!

Review №10

Awful customer service. Cheese arrived hot, soft and moldy. They refused to work with me at all. Ive ordered cheese from other companies and NEVER had an issue like this. They blame me for the delivery time selected instead of A) Only offer delivery that ensures product quality B) Packaging product properly. There was too much mold on all 3 blocks of cheese for a 3 day shipping process. Ice pack was not enclosed in plastic nand was completely melted. AVOID THESE THEIVES AT ALL COSTS. There are plenty of other decent honest places to order from.

Great selection of items and incredible deli! The employees are fantastic and provide amazing customer service as well, extremely helpful. The one comment I will add is that the little man with a ponytail who refers to himself as the manager can often come off as very abrasive and rude. Ive seen him belittle what appear to be trainees and have a very rude attitude with customers. The owners are fantastic, but I will be looking for service from someone other than this manager next time I come in.

Be careful when purchasing from this store! I had an item shipped to me and upon arrival, the feta cheese was 84.6 degrees and smelled rancid. It was shipped 4/26 with expected delivery 4/28 as I chose 2 day priority shipping. The delivery did not arrive until 5/3 with a tiny ice pack in styrofoam. When I reached out to Parthenon foods for a solution, they informed me it wasn’t their fault and they would not be providing any help in the matter whatsoever. Make sure to read the fine print because Parthenon Foods states in the fine print that perishable items will not be honored unless they are Overnighted. If that is the case than overnight shipping should be the only option available for perishables. Also UPS will not honor their priority mail due to Covid. My 2 Day Priority turned into 7 Days and neither one of them will take responsiblity for the delays. Not even a 10% off a future order or anything. I will not be ordering from this company again.

I absolutely loved this company and have been a loyal customer since 2016. Unfortunately, my most recent customer service experience was extremely disappointing. When I inquired about a recent increase in shipping charges prior to placing my order, Parthenon Foods instructed me to use Home Ground FedEx Shipping. When I placed my order, I selected this shipping method per their directions.Due to a FedEx issue, the order delivery was delayed by three days and when the items arrived, most were unusable due to FedExs replacement label being affixed to the bottom of the box, which resulted in two large buckets of brined feta soaking through most of the other items, plus the three day delay of perishable items in 90+ degree heat.FedEx indicated that all Parthenon Foods had to do was file a claim to cover the replacement or refund for these destroyed items, however Parthenon Foods claimed that I used an unacceptable shipping method, despite their written authorization to do so prior to submitting my order. When I reached out to them about this issue, Parthenon Foods initially told me Please let us know of any unusable items and we will file a claim asap and keep you updated. In addition, customer service indicated that The cheese is probably still safe to use because it is preserved in the brine and would not have enough time to spoil in this time frame, even though I had already explained and provided photo documentation that the brine and pieces of cheese had leaked all over the inside of the package and that it was without ice packs in 90+ degree heat for three days beyond the initial expected delivery date. I am not going to consume any dairy product under those conditions with the reassurance that it is probably still safe to use, and have to question the food handling practices of any company that would suggest this.I provided Parthenon Foods with photos of the damaged items and external packaging, along with a list of the destroyed items, but was then told their decision not to file a claim, replace the items, or process a refund was our final business decision on this issue in response to your inquiries and that [f]uture inquiries regarding this matter will not be addressed, citing their shipping policy that requires the use of FedEx overnight, despite instructing me to use a different shipping method.I had no choice but to dispute the transaction with my financial institution, which is disappointing, since per FedEx, Parthenon Foods could easily file a claim to rectify the situation. Im very disappointed that I can no longer order from this company in good faith, especially considering the previously outstanding quality of their products, selection, and customer service. I regret the many times I have recommended this company to friends, who now will also refrain from giving them additional business. While it may be safe to purchase from the brick-and-mortar store directly, I would discourage anyone from ordering shipped items based on my most recent experience.

This is a great store and establishment, fabulous tasting spinach pie and the best Barrel feta in the area. Dont forget about The Baklava or some of their other tasty treats. Dont forget about the great book called Bacon Gone Bad, by Brigette DuVal-Begos, you can find it at Amazon, eBay and the bookpatch.com. Till our next outing

I discovered Parthenon foods about a year ago. I went there initially to see if they carried Bulgarian feta cheese (they do). I had been traveling over an hour to either Madison or Kenosha to find good feta and delighted to have Parthenon conveniently located in the Milwaukee area. Parthenon has around a half dozen kinds of feta, and its always fresh. I have switched from the Bulgarian (which is tangy and also excellent) to the cream feta, which is perfect for a topping pizzas, which we make from scratch at home. The cream feta stays moist and creamy even after baking and reheats very nicely too. I have not found a grocery chain that carries feta that works as well for pizza. Both are also great for salads or for eating plain. My family also loves the makings for gyros and the Greek bakery goods available here, and this is a great place for finding European chocolates and other unusual but tasty products that are great for gifts. The lunchtime lemon chicken soup is terrific! In addition to the great selection and prices and the chance to shop local, this is a store that truly deserves the support of the community because they are really doing a great job. Each member of the staff is friendly and helpful, patient and pleasant--what I think of as old-fashioned, small town service. They seem appreciative of my business and treat my $3 transactions as if they are important as my $50 transactions. And they offer products and services that fill a gap in what you find in the chain grocery stores.

Having just moved to Milwaukee weeks ago, I was so comforted to find this shop. It is a joy to see a family owned neighborhood grocer in such good health. Beautiful. Both the space and the curation of goods. Prices are modest. Atmosphere feels like home.Add a small daily selection of fresh bread?

I have to agree with a previous reviewer. Item ordered December 14 with 2 day priority shipping. Here it is Christmas Day and item that was supposed to be a Christmas present for an elderly parent is non-existent. Emailed company 2 days prior to Christmas and their response was 2 day is not expedited service. Wow, really? An order placed for in stock item not shipped for apparently 4 days after order and why even bother to have shipping options if they are not followed through. Customer service certainly lacking at this company. Would think really hard about ordering again.

Ordered Gryo Meat on 8/18/2020, 2 Day Priority Shipping and it was not delivered until 8/24/2020. It was sent with 4 small reusable ice bags and peanuts in a styrofoam box. Of course it was ruined. Make sure to read the fine print because Parthenon Foods states in the fine print that perishable items will not be honored unless they are Overnighted. If that is the case than overnight shipping should be the only option available for perishables. Also USPS will not honor their priority mail due to Covid. My 2 Day Priority turned into 6 Days and neither one of them will take responsiblity for the delays. I will not be ordering from this company again.

My order from Parthenon Foods was delivered to the wrong address by FEDEX, and they were not able to recover the package for redelivery.Parthenon entered into a contract to deliver my order for which I paid a hefty fee, and FEDEX breached their agreement. I believe Parthenon should replace my order, and then recover their loss from the shipper.Parthenon told me to pursue my own claim through Paypal, which I did today. Im 73 years old, and pursuing a claim like this is not easy for me. I also am out the coffee I ordered, and about $70.00 that was paid to Parthenon. Hopefully Ill get a full refund eventually, but Im on Social Security having to wait on a refund is a hardship.Parthenon Foods unwillingness to even try to make this right convinces me they cant be trusted to backup their sales.

Recently discovered this store only blocks from my house. I loved that I could buy everything to make gyros. I was extremely impressed with who I think is the owner, he was the nicest guy, very personable. However, I stopped into the store tonite to get some boars head lunch meat, which I was excited that they carried, and was highly disappointed. The store closes at 6. I was in there at 5:37, I looked at my phone after the 2 high school girls told me that they dont slice anything after 5:40 because it takes time to clean the slicers. Seriously? Ive worked at a family owned deli and bakery, and a larger deli, and I have never heard of this rule. This is definitely not the great customer service I received the first time I was there. And it wasnt like I was only going to buy a dollars worth of meat. Boars head isnt cheap, and I definitely would have made it worth their time. I was the only person in there, I think they could have cut some meat for me and still had time to clean the slicer. What a bummer, because now I dont want to ever go back.
