The bakery is really great, they do such a good job! However, the one woman in the bakery likes to check your receipt multiple times and treat you as if you are a thief. And when you look stunned, she will literally tell you off. Smh…

I used to shop here but the quality of the store has continually fallen more and more. I thought it was just me but after looking at other customer reviews, it is not just me. There are/were some nice people that work there but they either no longer happy or arent there any longer. I think ownership should be ashamed of themselves. Everyone in town knows they have money but they certainly arent spending it wisely. How about hiring a management staff that actually cares about the customers? You had one, but he moved to Florida(which was a bold-face LIE). How about stocking the shelves? How about not having boxes in the aisles when the store opens up? How about taking care of the mice running around? The people in this community deserve MUCH better than you are giving. If you cant supply these things, you should sell the store to an owner who will do whats necessary to get the store where it should be. Lastly, dont have some flunky respond to these reviews if you arent going to do something about these problems. Escalating to upper management is a joke. Actions speak louder than words! {drops microphone}

This review is specifically about Sunrise Kitchen in Shoprite. Everything is fresh and made with love. As an Italian-American, people that cook with their heart and soul are my kind of people and it truly reflects in the food. Their summer salads are one of a kind.

Amazing place with great customer service. We enjoyed what we ordered and the price was very reasonable. It is definitely a nice place go with family and friends since they have nice sitting area!!!

I hate to pile on the other reviews but in this case, it is warranted. This store is a shell of what it was. While I do stop for a few things here and there, I do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere. The produce has a horrible setup and must have been designed by a blind person. Sale items in the store are out more than they are in stock. Why there are no carriage corals is beyond me. Im tired of shopping carts hitting my car. This store needs a complete management change, or a new owner who cares about the store. I hardly ever see managers while I shop. I was told by the staff that the one friendly manager, who used to help me, isnt there anymore and the store hasnt been the same since. These are the reasons why this is not my store of choice any longer.

This was my only place to shop until recently. Their best manager, who always helped me and anyone else that asked, mysteriously disappeared with no information. No one in the store had any information other than they were told he moved to Florida. They then told me the information wasnt factual. I will miss him and his outgoing personality. Since something smells bad here, and since he isnt there anymore, I will no longer shop there. Stop & Shop will now be my grocery store. Management should take note that I wont be the only one not shopping there any longer.Update: After talking to a lot of people, management has been lying to everyone. Not only did this manager not move, apparently he recently stopped in to say hello to the associates. Management will reap what they sow here. I have lost all respect for those liars. Its also amazing how many former Shoprite customers are now shopping at Stop & Shop.

Friendly and helpful staff and exceptional bakery! I ordered a custom cake and it was delicious and exactly what I ordered. Very well made and placing the order and picking up was convenient.

My parents happily shopped this store for years and years. This store has changed so much over the years and now I find myself going to other stores. Ever since the bosss daughter took over, I see less and less happy people working there. The people I talked to seem very frustrated in the way the store is being run. The one manager who always ordered things for me was bounced I was told. He was an asset. Its a shame that such a great place has fallen. Management seems to have a problem running the place effectively. I feel bad for some of the nice people who try their best to make a difference.

Ive shopped at this Shoprite since 1977 and will continue to do so. The prices are better than any grocery store in the area. The staff are very friendly and eager to be of assistance. The quality of the fresh food is excellent and the selection in all categories are excellent. An improvement: Stop relocating food groups around the store so frequently.

I hate this store. Crowded..the automatic checkouts always have a problem. People working there are not very helpful.

This has to be one of the dirtiest looking grocery stores I have ever set foot in. Considering how the front looks I can’t image how the prep areas are maintained. One visit here and I will never visit again.

Has everything I need. The staff working at the seafood section are phenomenal! I love the prices here and how large the parking lot is. Try to avoid weekends at all cost... (way too crowded)

Word of advice. You shouldnt keep the watermelons outside or any fruit for that matter when its almost 100 degrees out. I bought a watermelon yesterday and there were no more inside so I had to take one from outside and it is over ripe already. Not happy.

One of the worst shoprite Ive been to, poor selection is mostly the issue, other than that its fine.

The WORST shoprite I’ve ever been to. They never have anything you’re looking for. The produce section is a joke, so small and most items are inedible. It needs a serious update. It’s clean, which is the only reason I didn’t give it 1 star. I drive the extra 10 minutes to the Livingston one.

They have a lot of choices, which is really good, but they do not have cellular reception or a working WiFi. I do the shopping and my wife stays home. I dont always know the things that she writes on the list. so, I tend to do a quick search on my phone to find out, but at this ShopRite I cant, I have to ask (which isnt a problem). But what if you need to call your significant other because they have multiple choices of that one item? You cant, you would have to abandon your stuff and go outside to make a call.

The digital coupons although loaded on the phone, do not show up on the Shop Rite account right away. They told me at the store to wait a while before shopping. Also the paper coupons are sometimes different. For example Coke 4 for 4.99 in paper is for 2 liter but digital coupon is for 1.25 liter. I was just there to buy 2 liter per paper but was told the 1.25 was what was on sale. And they were not nice about it. The women in front of me in line had a problem with water paper differed from digital.

I TOTALLY agree with Barbaras review - BB was the most helpful and personable manager at the store. I heard the same story about his disappearance -I don’t believe it. The entire situation does smell bad. I am with you Barbara. I no longer shop at Shoprite-moved my business over to Stop and Shop. Unfortunatley I had to rate this review as a one star otherwise my review would not post really it should be rated zero stars.

Narrow isles but good bakery

Long lines, dirty small aisles, the shelf are not stocked probably, limited products the produce area is a ridiculous maze to navigate forget about around the holidays its a madhouse and if your not Quick you miss out on the holiday hams this place is to small for the area its serves, this shop rite should be closed down and renovated Ive been nicer Bodegas and delis the area out grew is shop rite years ago what a DUMP!!!!

If youre looking for wilted produce that makes you NOT want to purchase these items, then this is the ShopRite for you. How can you expect to sell those items when they basically need to be trashed. I made two attempts to purchase produce and this ShopRite FAILED both times. 0 rating is warranted for this ShopRite from one unsatisfied customer.

Clean, tidy and even on busier days the checkout line moves pretty quickly.

Shoprite of west Caldwell:The bakery dept:So I would give them 5 stars!!! Luis the guy who took my order was so nice. Half a sheet cake came out to be under $40, The cupcakes were $14.99 for 24 and they can decorate it however I wanted them too. The shoprite in parsippany Is closer to my house and I price checked them first but had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THERE! The guy was going to charge me $150 for the cake, $40 for 24 cupcakes and the workers there watched me stand there for about 1:30secs waiting for service...whereas at this shoprite he took my order right away!!! Actually someone told me about the Caldwell shoprite and said it’s a great Place to order cakes from. Thank goodness I went there the service was great, the price was great. The only thing I didn’t like was the shoprite look itself..... it looks old and run down.....I’d give that part a 1! But if your looking for a cake don’t judge a book by its cover—- this place is the place to go!Also, my friend ordered a cake from there that same day and hers came out incredible as well! Oh I must add about the timing as well. I ordered the cake on Monday 8/17 -the cake was needed for 8/22 and they could do it for me.8/22 was the party day and when we ate it EVERYONE raved about the taste! I ordered mine with fresh banana and strawberry jam in the filling and it was DELICIOUS!!! Such a good cake!I am totally impressed with them and will be ordering from them again!

I like shop rite

Today I was very hungry! So, I got to Bagels by Jarrett after technical closing time, which was 1 pm, but Jarrett serves everyone in line so I got there and I got my food at around 1:25 pm. I was the last customer. I ordered the lox box, bruschetta bagel and they were delicious. Bagels werent warm but still tasty. I also got chickpea salad for later... always delicious. John the parking guru was there...hes so on top of his job and so friendly as are the other staff.

Ive been going here for about 2 years. Newish to the area. This place has gone out of their way to help my family. My daughter needed a special type of formula in the infancy period. The GM Bob, order this so fast it blew my mind. Staff has always been so pleasant. Wonder wonder seafood staff. I think the guy is Aaron? Amazing guy. He has ordered me 7..yes seven dozen cherry stone clams at a time, put the order in, had it 1 day later. I order tons of clams. Hes the man. Again, great staff, some amazing cashiers. Highly recommended

I’ve been going here for years! The food is always fantastic, the prices are great, and everyone in the store is always so helpful. Why do we need any other supermarket other than Shop Rite?

I stop in this Shop Rite from time to time when Im in the area. Its fine. Last time I bought a loaf of Italian bread and a pudding cake. I had never tried their bakery items before and have to say I was very disappointed. The bread was a weird texture and flavor, nothing like any even mediocre Italian bread and the pudding cake was dry and stale.

Always packed and kinda dark in there. Makes shopping a tiring experience. Staff are nice though. Their prices are good and you can almost always get everything you want. A little weak on speciality stuff (if youre into international cooking for example you will have trouble). ShopRite has the best baked goods in the area though. Seriously some of the best cakes you can get for a good 10 miles. In reality this star rating would depend on the individual. If you are your average shopper 4-5 stars is appropriate. If youre the kind thats always looking for something new to cook or cant stand a dark boring atmosphere its not for you.

Pls go to livingston or Morristown shoprite and judge for yourself how west Caldwell stacks up. There has to be an ownership or management issue here.

My favorite supermarket. Not gigantic and not too small. Just the right size. Excellent produce lots of organic choices. Deli and prepared food behind the counter is great. This is THE market you want to go to each week.

Small store, decent variety. However, the customer service is weak, the staff (especially at the customer service desk) is not familiar with the items they stock & their locations.

Food goes bad within a couple days. Read unit price. They like to price gouge.

There were poor quality of red onions placed on the produce section. That was disheartening. Customer service from staff was good.

ShopRite has everything and is priced right. This location has slightly limited parking so busy times can be an issue, especially when people are doing their holiday shopping. Also, the lines can be long and aisles very congested during peak times. The aisles seem a little thinner than most food stores.

I now live in south Jersey and couldnt find things I use in 6 stores. I drove up to this location and except for a discounted item i found everything i needed. They were my store for 23 years and would drive 150 miles round trip again for items I need.

I can always find what I need at this location. The only reason not 5 stars is because if I get there 15 minutes before closing (the only time I can get there sometimes), I cant get to what I need because they fill up the aisles for restocking the shelves by then with tons of pallets and boxes (shopping carts wont fit through), so I almost always end up not getting some of the things I need as a result at that time.Besides that, amazing customer service down to every last employee, and the late night circumstance will not deter me from continuing to shop here!

There was a employee either o her break or about to go home, and she was asking if I needed help. I normally see her but I wish I got her name! She is an example of going above and beyond customer service. Shes always pleasant and helpful. I mainly come to this Shop-Rite because of the excellent service!

Fairly standard as grocery stores go. All the brands/selection youd expect. Easy to get in/out except during peak hours. Plenty of parking. We drive a little further to go here for our weekly trip.

I love this Shoprite. They always have everything I need. It’s small but convenient. Great Deli department and meat department. I only get my fish here it’s always fresh. Never had a problem. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

Product selection is average and prices are somewhat competitive. The traffic flow and customer experience is at best confusing and obsolete. This store must be either shut down or redesigned to remain relevant in todays environment.

They need to renovate quite a bit. For the amount of traffic that flows through that shoprite its crazy that it always looks as shabby as it does. The employees there are very nice and helpful

Overall, this place has everything you need. As most people say, I think the parking lot can be a little tough to drive around. The checkout line aisles are too narrow in this location. The produce employees dont care so much about the produce and it can rot pretty fast. Nice managers and employees in this store. The store is well kept up
