Had a private lesson with Jim today. Never know what to expect with someone you never met. But it was a very nice session. Learned a lot in a short time. How he delivered and communicated the education was really good and walked a good line between being extremely serious handling firearms and also making you feel comfortable and enjoying the time.

As a novice, going into the class I was a bit nervous but excited. This class did not disappoint. First of all they took gun safety very seriously. I felt safe the entire time. Second the teaching method was easy to follow. They gave you individual attention to make sure you are following the proper stance, aim and safety. I definitely 100% would recommend to anyone who has a gun or is interested in one. Will be going back.

I took the Intro to Defensive Handgun course offered by Cajun Arms/Tuscarora Tactical Training. During the duration of the course, Jim and Tom went over the basics of firearm safety, range etiquette, stance, moving from position 3 to position 4 of the draw, and ran some firing drills.I was very pleased with Jim and Toms instruction. They were very knowledgeable easy to understand. They offer additional handgun courses, and based on my experience with the intro course I will be moving forward with their subsequent handgun courses.Overall great experience.

I took the Defensive Carry 1 Course. This was a quality course rather than a high round count course - the instructors were observing and providing instruction, rather than just supervising drills. I will be taking additional courses.

I have recently attended a class that was taught by Jim and Laura that was so thorough, enjoyable, and paradigm shifting that before leaving for the day I was already enrolled in the next class.Safety and the appropriate mindset was always at the forefront of everything that we did - - all the way down to setting the guidelines and roles for specific people should there be an incident.Jim and Laura were, in addition to being thorough with safety on the range, empathetic to the plight of the neophyte weapon owners that we were, understanding of the various needs and issues of the individual student so much so it felt like individual instruction, and perhaps most amazingly they never rushed the students (for context it felt like we were in Bahrain that day. I attended the Intro to Defensive Pistol class. It covered all the safety and foundation framework that is paramount to any shooter. Im far from a first time shooter but still got a lot out of this class. Jim and Laura ensured a safe environment and even had an extensive plan if the worst should happen. This class is well thought out and adds a little spice at the end with some movement. I highly recommend this class to any new or rusty shooter. And if you are an experienced shooter with a friend/partner new to the 2A community this is an exceptional class to take together. I plan on retaking this class with my girlfriend.

Took my first, and hopefully one of many classes with Jim and Laura. Intro to Defensive Pistol really gets new and relatively inexperienced shooters into the fundamentals of the defensive mindset and aspects of using a pistol to defend oneself and their loved ones. Jim and Laura have a wealth of knowledge that they will apply to the individual, based on their needs and experience. Sound and safe fundamentals are what they really try to emphasize so it becomes good habits for new shooters. They also keep it lively and fun. All around, a great experience (even through the thunderstorm) and would highly recommend Jim and Laura for your firearms training.

Great education and experience! We had a male and female instructor which was awesome. Very good balance of both basic gun safety instruction and hands-on training. If you are new to handguns, you need to take this course to build your confidence if you plan to carry a concealed weapon.

I had a really great experience with Jim and Tom their long gun class this Sunday. I went with my 15 year old Son so we could both learn and become comfortable with our fire arms. I was super nervous to shoot my 12 gage shot gun because I was scared of the recoil. I was really impressed with their skill level and how patient they were with me. I recently attended the Intro to Practical Pistol course at Elverson Gun Club. Jim is an awesome teacher! Fun and Safe, this course is a professional, comprehensive, hands on training geared towards those with little to no experience with a pistol. I walked in with very little training and left with the introductory knowledge and confidence necessary for continued education and progressive defense and tactical training. I will be moving on to Defensive Carry I course and recommend the Intro course to anyone new to firearms or in need of a proper refresher on safety, grip, form, etc.

Defensive Carry 0.5 - Great class! Very informative on multiple levels. If you’re like me and are on the fence, or have been thinking about taking a class, I highly recommend doing so. I felt very comfortable in a range setting, but never have been put in a pressure/violent situation with my pistol. I wanted to learn how to deal with the “what if” situation. Pressure does two things... it can burst pipes, or make diamonds. Let just say that you quickly realize how important this training can be. Jim (Instructor) harps Safety first and maintained a very controlled environment! He does a great job explaining and walking though foundational skills that, once learned can save you, or your family’s lives. I learned that I have a lot to learn and practice to be prepared. Cajun Arms is training done right - safe, practical and fun. Several family members and I attended Jims Into to Practical Defensive Pistol class today. Upon arrival both Jim and his RSO Tammy emphasized and maintained safety while ensuring everyone felt welcome. The course began on time and Jim immediately started laying solid foundations that were put into practice through a series of increasingly fun yet practical drills. All the while, Tammy floated among us, making sure each individual received a level of personal attention needed to keep things secure and our guns functioning. This is one class you neednt worry about falling asleep in. Your gun is on target within the first half hour and by the end of the class everyone was visibly more comfortable and proficient than they had been just a few hours previous.
