We chose Pine Street for a full house remodel (replacing electric, plumbing, major structural revisions) of an historical home in the West Chester borough. Our primary objective was the highest quality work that would preserve the historical aspect of the home, but fully modernized and at the lowest reasonable cost. Nearly three years since we engaged them and we continue to feel like that was the best decision we could have possibly made. The essential things that made this experience wonderful for us, particularly as first-time home renovators, were the detailed planning and rigorous project management, the quality of craftsmanship and expert network, and the incredibly warm professionalism and care of the team. In sum, they delivered below our initial cost projections and ahead of time — nearly the opposite of all the horror stories we’ve heard about some of the other crews. In the beginning, it was a very difficult decision to choose Pine Street. Their cost projections were higher than their competitors by A LOT. I nearly dismissed them because of it. But the level of detail and thoughtfulness in the bid really won me over. When I questioned competitors about some of the detail included in the PS bid, they would always respond that if that happened, they would need to increase costs, etc. It really made me worry about what final costs would eventually be and I ultimately chose PS for their transparency and integrity.Perhaps the best element of the entire project was the onsite project manager. This is a person who will be your main point of contact throughout, who will have all of the answers and will ultimately know your home better than you do. This is an enormous gift and a real relief in what would otherwise be a stressful time. Ours would call us proactively, make great suggestions and recommendations (things that you just don’t know as you begin, but that are revealed as you get started). For example, he had a piece of reclaimed barn wood in his garage that he used as an accent piece in a stairwell or, in another case, was able to use parts of the existing rafters as trim in the bedroom. These little things feel brilliant when you’re trying to preserve the feel of the home and keep costs low — and these are simply things we never could have anticipated in the planning stage. This role in your remodel can really magnify the experience as a client.Another aspect to consider is that Pine Street has cultivated a network of people they trust over years of experience and working together. Every single person who came through our house was knowledgeable, respectful and responsive. The team would not have allowed it to be any other way. Further, at the end of the project, they gave us a portfolio of contact information for each person that had worked on the house, so if anything goes wrong or we need some additional work, we have a network of folks that know the house and that we know we can trust (and who, by the way, will be very quick to respond out of respect for their relationship with Pine Street). Finally, the part that is hardest to articulate, is the warm professionalism that the team brings. You’ll feel it first with Brendon when you call with your first inquiry, but you’ll leave feeling nearly astonished that the entire team carries it forward: problems will be addressed and solved before you even hear about them; the site will be clean at the end of every day without fail; the team will stop what they’re doing when you enter to make sure you can see and understand the steps that are being taken (and they never got impatient with our very frequent visits). Again, all things we didn’t know before we started but ended up defining the quality of our experience. It is an important decision to choose the right partner in these efforts. I can get easily stressed out by the volume of decisions that need to be made and was vigilant about costs and timing. The Pine Street team exceeded most of our expectations and left us knowing we made absolutely the right decision.
We used Pine Street Carpenters to completely remodel our master bathroom. We were completely satisfied with our experience - from the design phase with Dana to the actual work done by Tommy and his crew. The work by both Pine Street and their subcontractors was meticulous and the job site was immaculately clean at the end of each work day. In addition, they completely discussed any issues that came up as the work progressed, and suggested many design changes that worked out perfectly. All in all, we were completely pleased by our experience with Pine Street. All of the workers were friendly, courteous, and highly competent. We highly recommend Pine Street!
Great work!
The Kitchen Studio at Pine Street remodeled our kitchen several years ago now and we wanted to note that the workmanship and quality of materials used has truly stood the test of time. Another thing that makes this group special is their design skills. They helped us modernize our 1962 home without getting too trendy. It continues to look and feel fresh but wont go out of style quickly. We still love our kitchen!
Pine Street Carpenters are, without a doubt, the top remodeling/renovation and carpentry organization in the area. Bill, his brothers, and the rest of the PSC staff, Adam in particular, exude professionalism and are positively a pleasure to communicate and work with. My highest recommendation!
One of the finest renovation firms around. Very neat and clean. They will treat your home as their own. If you are considering any type of renovation or remodel, do yourself a favor and give Pine Street a call.
They never called me back. So, I cant answer this question
How often do you find a contractor who knows how to work with clients as well as they work with materials? Not very often in my experience, but Pine Street Carpenters is one of these rare firms that sets and meets high standards. They designed and renovated our entire second floor – a large and complicated project – in a way that minimized the disturbance and time to complete. When problems arose - as they always do with construction work - they were right on top of them: responsive and thoughtful. We are thrilled with the results, and when we tell our friends that we actually enjoyed the process, they can’t believe it! This is a unique firm, filled with people who show how much they care about the work they do and their relationships with clients.
We have used Pine Street Carpenters for renovation of a finished basement, a major remodel (conversion of 3 car garage into a family room, kitchen, new garage), a bathroom renovation, a powder room redo, and a kitchen remodel at another property. Having used other contractors in the past with unsatisfactory results, we sought out quality instead of the low bidder. Pine Street delivered superior quality. All outcomes surpassed our expectations and were delivered on time. They are consumate professionals at all levels of the company, from the owner to the workers on site. They are very transparent as the the overhead and profits on the project are always clearly spelled out for the client. Changes are accommodated with clear well defined documentation with additional costs explicitly noted or (believe it or not) credits to the project identified. I would highly recommend them for both large and small scale projects. They are a family owned company you can trust focused on proving value to their customers ... that is why they get so much repeat business!
Brendon was very attentive to our requirements for our new kitchen. We went backwards and forwards with ideas for a few meetings. It was great to see all the suggestions and he was very welcoming of the ideas that we had from Pinterest. The service we found was very professional the planning was as I would expect. The project was completed on time even though we had a setback with the cabinet manufacture. I would recommend PineStreet as I feel you get what you pay for.
Showroom was amazing! Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable!Highly recommend!
