Huge store, good selection. I hear complaints about prices, and yeah for toiletries, cleaning, and personal care stuff, they are higher. But their sales on clothing, towels, and bed linens cant be beat for the quality you get. The Basic Editions mens casual wear holds up way better than what youd get at target or the other mart, even the dress pants in that line are heavy, well made and comfortable. Same with their Canon sheets and quick dry towels, very well made and hold up to heavy use. I try to shop wherever I can find a surviving Kmart store, and even though this location is pretty far for me, Id go out of my way to come back.
Dont even wonder why they are closing. Prices/quality good, however management is clueless. Standing there watching 30 people in line. Either open another line yourself or at least clean up as you stand there doing nothing. The music they play is enough to make you jump out of your skin. Its not in the hood, Im not from the hood...couldnt even stay longer to shop because the rap bs music was nerve wracking. Clean the place up. Hire more people.
I wanted to give 3 stars at first but in terms of what experience you really need, 4 is appropriate for Kmart. Prices are generally good, the selection is pretty broad, and parking is never a problem. The ongoing problem here is the checkout lines. Usually there are either not enough lines open or the ones opened are terribly slow (combination of the cashier and customer, but mostly the cashier). When I have had to return something the process was usually fine.
BEWAREI paid in cash and I was given an change back from 10.00, not the 20.00 I gave the cashier. Have to wait until tomorrow after the cash drawer is reconciled to receive my proper cash, which I am sure I will never receive. Not certain if this was a scam, an honest mistake, sheer stupidity, or the fact I did not pay with rupee. No need to ever shop again at K Mart.
Only go here if its the ONLY place you can stop. It will take at least 20 minutes to check out, even if youre buying just a pack of gum. And Ive seen multiple employees talk to customers like its a hassle. And Im pretty sure the cleaning crew quit 4 years ago and they never hired any one else. Not sure how they are still open.
Went to kmart and found a tent that i have been looking for and they had a price in it of after 30% off you pay $0.00. Took item to the front to purchase and rang up at $203. I showed the cashier the sing and she had called over manager. He would not honor the sign and told me take me to court cause it is not free. Well your sign shore does say so. I have picture to prove it.
So depressing and after a quick price comparison, target is cheaper. There is no reason to shop here. Also at 9:30 in the morning when they have been open for 1.5 hours their trash is full? This is a small thing but it makes me feel like they just don’t take it out, the store isn’t even being cared for anymore. Wait it out, they will close.
My kids will be part of a world without Kmart and Sears, another one bites the dust. I have some find memories of Kmart and their blue light specials. This was actually one of the cleaner Kmarts. The one in Coatesville was atrocious.
Checkout was fast during my last visit because they were well staffed with 4 checkout lines. Great price on cat litter.
Im so happy that this one stayed open!
It used to be nice and have all sorts of stuff, but now its just depressing. Only half the lights are gone, the electronics section is just three TVs playing Family Fued. Not sure what happened, but I hope it could go back to normal.
Every single time I go to this store I leave fuming. The customer service seriously needs to be changed. I am still amazed at how this Kmart is still open. It has seriously gone downhill from what it used to be. I was just there today and in line for 20 minutes even though I was 3rd in line. There was a long line forming and the cashier didnt even call anyone up, and when she did no one came. She cursed in front of us and complained about her coworkers in front of us. Where is the respect? Where is the management at this place? It is really sad to see as a former cashier. I wish I could give less than one star.
Its no different than other KMarts, except the cashiers are slower than Im used to at other stores. As soon as you walk in, take note of the checkout lines. If they are all 3 or 4 deep you will be waiting 10 minutes or more to make your purchase.
Hannah is the best . Most nicest, courteous cashier ever!! So well spoken. And patient. Thank You, Hannah L
Lots if stock in the store and well laid out. Problem when done - 4 pm and only one checkout person who was visibly and vocally unhappy. No wonder - 10 people in that one line. Where was the manager who should have pulled more people to checkout? Many unhappy people.
One of the few nice K-Marts left, the location is nice and clean, but unfortunately, because of the state of the company, their store simply isnt well stocked, well staffed, or well managed. It could be a prime location, but they simply dont have the resources left to compete with comparable locales.
This is the biggest Kmart Ive ever been in, and so nice and clean and CS friendly.
I went to return an item on Wednesday July 6, was rudely told by staff (clerk and manager) that I could not make my return. I asked why? They said your policy is 30 days, no exceptions. I stated that in the past I knew for sure that their policy was 90 days. They stated as of Jan 1 this had changed and there was nothing to do, that I should of read my receipt. I will be sure to not shop there from this day forward. Poor business, rude people.
My favorite Kmart, staff have always been wonderful & helpful to me & the prices are better than any store of its kind!!!
Shopped here all the time and now I work here and it’s just awesome!!!!!!!! And now it’s bitter sweet here and going it’s sad it will be deeply missed!!!!!!!!
I only come here if I need to come here. I dont understand why they insist on 1 cashier regardless of the number of people in line. 3 millennial employees standing at customer service doing nothing while the senior citizen employee does all the work at a snails pace. Just sad. Still cant beat the price on certain items though, so a dreaded time waster.
Im really surprised this depressed store was not among the ones slated to close in 2018.Its always empty, check-out is the worst, the employees seem to be clueless and management appears to be asleep at the wheel. The KMart in Exton that was recently torn down was great!
This store is the definition of trashy. All the employees are lazy to the point where they only open one register and make people wait 10 minutes to pay. Most the employees stare at you like you dont belong their. The only reason I go here is to cheap soda thats not even cold.
Absolutely worst experience ever. Lines 20 people long and there are employees literally standing around.
Its alright, but it can be hard to find an employee when you need one. From my experience, it is better to go during the day. The 2nd shift employees dont seem to care as much.
While I dont like anyone to have to lose their job, this place needs to go. Poorly stocked shelves and slow checkouts everytime I go. Its as if their hanging on by a thread. Either revamp or shutdown.
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. By far had the WORST customer service at the WEST chester location by someone named HAZEL, who claimed to be OFF THE CLOCK but running register and bringing merchandise up for another customer. She refused to help us and told us very rudely that we had to make the line ONCE AGAIN after they wouldnt bring us the right grill because they were priced wrong. When I went to get her name and asked for the manager because of her rude attitude, she yelled at me while customer were checking out. Extremely horrified by her treatment with my children there. We left the grill and will buy it at Home Depot. Never again will you have my business. Not with people like HAZEL working there....off the clock supposedly.
One of the cleanest kmarts I have been too however the items are very pricey compared to other surrounding stores.
NEVER use your credit/ debit card on the Kmart app or website. They will remove money from your account instantly, but when they make a mistake, they will not refund for 7-10 business days. I purchased a crock pot via the Kmart app for instore pickup. They never notified the store that I had made a purchase and I could not pick up the item. I called the order cancellation number, and when I cancelled the order they charged my debit card A Second Time for the same item. Now I had paid twice, had no product, and not enough on my account to purchase elsewhere! I called back and their response was too bad so sad nothing we can do. I will shop at Big Lots from now on. No more Sears or Kmart purchases for me.
Aweful. Came here at 4:47 pm on saturday....NO REGISTER OPEN NOT EVEN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! manager not even in uniform, 2 employees opening their registers and manager talking to one instead of helping the 6 customers in line waiting for a register to open.
Horrible employees. EVERY single time I go in there finding an employee is like finding waldo. Also...even if theres 5 customers in line there always seems to be only 1 register open with the employee moving extremely slow. Meanwhile 4 employees are over at the customer service desk talking. EVERY single time I go in this happens. Id love to get a job there bc they clearly do nothing...Nothing at all. Stop your conversation, work, open up a register and get the customers out the door! I watched 3 people put their items down and just walk out tonight. Absolutely ridiculous
Always had great time shopping times there
At least 20 people in check out line! One poor woman was maybe the only employee in store? Avoid. Not worth the long wait and filthy conditions.
Horrible service. Rude customer service. No one in line was going to the customer service line where she was checking people out and she told us that we had to go get in the other line because she HAD to take the next customer in line. Then when I was next and she was available she refused to call anyone until I was already checking out. This place just needs to shut down.
Being in this place is just awkward and uncomfortable. It always looks as though its recently been raided by an angry mob of looters. Shelves are picked over and disorganized. Employees are always acting inappropriately, with little regard for customers. I go here in dire emergencies because of its convenience (its much closer than Target). Ive never once seen a manager in this place, probably because they are huddled in some dark corner of the store crying.
Approached by outside vendor in store and when I said “no thank you, I’m good”, he got flustered and said I was rude. He was the one being rude interrupting me shopping. When I approached the front to check-out, one register was open with a long line so I approached customer service line. As I approached with another customer, the clerk came out from behind the customer service counter with lots of attitude waving us away saying “not here, I’m trying to get out of here, not this line”. She was very rude.I left my items there and exited the store.
If I could give this place -0 stars I would. God awful place. Horrible staff team. Always on their phone and never want to help. They look like they are miserable. Really really disappointed
Doing a return can be troubling, even if one has his receipt. The associate management and customer service representative were not helpful. The computer system and registers are way out of date. It is no wonder Kmart and Sears stores are closing and will eventually be stores of the past. Because of poor management, the stores are closing.
I love kmart.
The lack of staffers is a huge problem that this company refuses to address. The stock is ridiculous its unpacked and all over the store. Some of the employees are poorly trained if at all and management is extremely lazy and rude.
Nice place, good prices.
Lines are awful pay the Good employees better you will get good staff..
It looks like there just leting the store go under . previous time i put my stuff down and walked out cause they had one line at the return. And a women was returning half a cart. Of stuff .there was one person ahead f me and five behind . its a shame cause when it closes its going to be missed. Theres nothing else close.
The store was understaffed, customer service was rude, sale prices werent as good as other stores and they refused to price match. Not a place Id go out of my way to visit again.
The staff is BEYOND AWFUL. A problem with a Western Union transaction was handled by the manager having her employee hanging up on me and when I called back the manager was arrogant and rude beyond belief. You would hope in retail managers in general would be willing to help and be professional but instead was the complete opposite. I will never put my faith in them again to be treated like that! And to top it off, I have been in there with employees fighting with each other and screaming along with everyone being all over the place.
By K-Mart standards, this store is great. Comparing it to the local Target stores is where this place falls flat, bad selection, undertrained staff, lackluster electronics selection, terrible retrofitted layout (Why are there mattresses in with the CDs and TVs?) I feel this place will face the same fate as the former Exton store, Closed. A shame too, because this place wasnt half bad when it was just remodeled too. Id rather shop at Wal-Mart or the dollar store now.
Lines are short most of the time and good sales
This is definitely one of the nicer stores within my area
My husband just tried to return a Christmas gift, without a receipt, for store credit. We were told that it couldnt be returned without a receipt, even for store credit, because the new store policy assumes that it was stollen. We will never shop at Kmart again. Accusing your customers of returning stolen Christmas gifts is a great policy!
Not a lot of selection, store is dingy. Employees are very nice, not always knowledgeable on what products they carry.
Easy to find what I wanted.
Disorganized but ok prices. Employees seem nice enough but never anyone to help out.
Good and cheap items . Cloth, furniture can be tried
This place is terrible. I want a Target here so bad. Their staff is slow and rude to customers. Always under stocked as well.
Go here out of desperation only. The employees dont care and you will spend at least ten to fifteen minutes in line. Ive been multiple times (out of necessity) and my experience has never changed. Awful awful service.
Pretty good for a KMart. Needs more staff.
I give this place 3 months before it closes. Its being run by lazy teenagers
This is a big Kmart! But, the customer service, per usual as in any Kmart, was abysmal.
Nice people work there
December 21st and they have one line going at 7 p.m. poor elderly lady only one working for her paycheck while other employees socialize. Put all my things back and walked out. Manager- where are you?
A one stop big place to stay shop.
Love the clearance area in most departments
Employees are least interested and they behave as though customers are burden to them!
4pm on a Monday and no lines were open. Waited in customer service line to check out for 15 minutes, only to be told to get in another line that was just opening. Understaffed and slow.
10 people in line, 1 cashier, 30 minute wait.
I had 16.50 in Kmart rewards. I got an email today telling me thatI read all of the conditions. At the checkout the cashier said I got a 0.78 discount. Basically done with Kmart at this point.
Looking for something in the general category anything you need Kmart has it
The entire store staff is stuck in slow motion, the merchandise is whats to be expected.
Clean, stocked, friendly, well marked.
No one works there, never find help.
A store in decline...
Checkout took 30 minutes. someone needs to be fired!! cant believe this place is still open.
Because they have a variety
Best Kmart around
Nice, clean, modern store
Awful place
Closing
Horrible?
Going under and it shows
Kmart is dead
