This store is easily the best stocked board game store I have ever seen. The vast majority of the store was board games (full games not just expansion packs, although they do have some of those). The store is organized and has a wide variety of games, from easy quick party games to hard core strategy multiple hour long games. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great local shop & Carl is the best. Always friendly & happy to give recommendations. He keeps a wonderful selection for gamers of all kinds. The store is a treasure-there is nothing like it in the area! Carl has competitive pricing on MTG products & in my experience has never inflated prices on even the most popular, hard to find sets. My family is happy to be patrons of this store & would much rather support small business than shop online.

This place was an unwelcoming environment! I was so excited to find a local game store. I visited The Games Keep on the afternoon of Sept 9, 2021. I walked in and the employee/owner/manager (not sure which) was on the phone. I looked around waiting for him to say he would be with me in a minute or so. He did not. When he got off the phone I was expecting to him say hello, or ask if I needed help finding anything. He did not. He sat down at a desk in the back of the store and started doing work (or something) on a computer. He completely ignored me! It was so rude! Aren’t you supposed to greet your customers when they visit your business? I was so disappointed! They had several games on my wish list, even one that is out of print. I was looking forward to buying something but he did not seem interested in my business so I left with no intentions of returning. I thought I had found my FLGS...apparently not. I thought board gaming was supposed to be friendly and inclusive. Sadly, I would not use either of those words to describe The Games Keep.

This may be the best game shop to some, but not in our experience. We visited the area from the other side of PA, and this store was the absolute worst in terms of customer service. There was zero welcome, zero customer service, and the store is basically a game warehouse. Stacks of stuff everywhere. There were some games on the reduced shelf that were also on the regular priced shelf (like Immortals). Yes theres a huge selection, but the atmosphere was less than inviting. We left empty-handed because they seemed to care less about our business. Will never visit again.

If youre in need of a fantastic selection of table top, board, or card games, then Games Keep is the place to go. Easily one of my favorite places to shop, or just stop in and chat about new games. Looking forward to their gameplay space to open up (written during the pandemic), as its a wonderful spot to meet people, and try out new games for free!

Been going here for many years since my college days at WCU. Best game store around. The owner is friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. You can ask him about practically any game and he will know what it is and probably has played it himself! I moved over an hour away from the store and still continue to come here, thats how good it is.

I ran games for an Unpub event here. Theyve got games galore, more than any single store Ive been to before. And they have a spacious play area. Fantastic overall, the only bad thing about it is that I live so far away from it!

I love this place so much. The selection is immense and if he doesnt have something youre looking for he will gladly order it for you. The prices are good and the gaming room is a great place to meet up with local gamers to play a huge variety of games. Furthermore, he keeps a truly gigantic supply of games on hand for you to try out even if youre broke. Its more than a store its a community center. Try it. Youll love it.

This store is a treasure trove of tabletop gaming! Theres a massive, well-organized selection of old and new, very attractively priced. The atmosphere is very friendly, and the owner was a joy to chat with. No question this was worth an hour drive, and I will be back again very soon!

Extensive collection of magic the gathering including some older Modern era product from as early as Dark Ascension.The owner Karl is extremely friendly, incredibly useful and just a fun person to be around.Prices are kept low and fair, often to original MSRP on older products that have been spiked years after release.Overall solid, dependable and I cant wait to go back to playing in store post COVID.

Its a huge boardgame store, and that alone is great in my book. But its also very organized with everything thats in stock. The owner is super knowledgeable and will help you find what youre looking for and even offer recommendations. Its always a good time here.

If you want a game odds are they’re going to have it and then some. Personally I’m a big fan of Munchkin and they had just about every expansion I could think of. I also enjoy Fluxx and they had every type of Fluxx game as well. They also host game nights as well where you can try out the games for free! I will definitely be coming back here in the near future!

Im a passionately casual Magic player and moonlight as a character illustrator for tabletop game commissions. I just got back from game shop browsing in Pittsburgh, looked at game shops at Philly and surrounding areas... Nothing has yet to compare to the quality, quantity, and prices of this place. The Games Keep (and Wawa) make me wonder why I ever left my home county.I wouldnt be surprised if its the best shop of its kind in the northeast.Carl doesnt price gouge on Magic product and the tabletop selection is the most complete and focused Ive ever seen, including paints. Plenty of room the play too!

Went during COVID for Free RPG Day 2020. I have never been here before and went because they were listed as taking part in the event. I will be back! The selection of gaming stuff and comic books was HUGE. I could have spent a week in there. When things are back to normal, I look forward to going back to play games. They have a large area to play games that was shut down currently.

Large selection of games however, not a good faith merchant. Bought a game, took it home and opened it. Realized it was missing the rule book. Took it back to the store within an hour of purchasing it. They would not return or exchange the game. The clerk said it’s not their problem. I need to call the manufacturer. No offer to call on my behalf, no offer to reach out to their supplier. Just too bad, I’m out of luck. I left the game on the counter, and left the store out $50.I called 2 days later to speak to the owner. Same reply; too bad game isn’t complete: it’s not their problem. They are responsible for selling complete and working goods. His reply: call the manufacturer. No offer to call for me, no offer to rectify the issue or make it right in any way.I like to shop small and I am a loyal customer. The game was $50 in the store yet $35 on Amazon. It’s sad when the little local guy doesn’t stand behind his merchandise; it drives us to the big box and internet suppliers where you get better prices and can return products easily. So, when places like this go out of business, sometimes it’s their own fault and not Amazon’s.Sadly, he will be out in the end. I will call my credit card company, dispute the charge, likely win and he won’t get the $50 and will pay the credit card merchant chargeback fee. He’ll lose money and a customer, spend time defending himself with the credit card company all rather than doing the right and honest thing.

Best store for Board Games I have been to. It has a nice playing area with demo games that anybody can play at. Used to play D&D here in High School as well. Staff is super knowledgeable and you can find almost any board game here. Lots of stuff for D&D and other roleplaying games as well. A fantastic store all around.

Employee lied to my partner about whether or not they could use dry erase markers on their new battle map. We were told they could, but the markers stained, and we didnt think to read the care instructions (which say to NOT use dry erase markers) until after the fact, considering the misinformation that the employee had confidently given us. We will be returning to try to get a refund or exchange. Whether we can or not, this all would have been avoided if the employee had been honest about his knowledge of the product.EDIT: Owner(?) has given a snippy reply implying my partner lied to me about what they were told. I WAS THERE and heard the employee say that we could use our EXPO markers on the mat. They will no longer be receiving our business.

This is a fantastic place even if your not sure you like board games. The place is packed with thousands of games. Its fun to must peruse the isle. They also have a side room. This room has a whole bunch of tables and i believe they allow people to play there any time their open. Also they hold more organized tournaments there like Friday night magic.

This is a great place to find any board game you can think of, the inventory available at this shop is unlike any you may have ever seen! Also has dedicated players of magic the gathering, games workshop, and various board games who will come in and play in the gaming area. There are usually people playing during the weekends, go ahead and give a call to the dedicated owner to see whats going on!

This is the place to go for just about anything game related in West Chester. Karl keeps a good supply if board games, card games, game books. I stop in when I want a Pathfinder book. Karl is helpful, makes suggestions when I want a gift and lives to talk shop. He also has an area for playing games, though I have never taken advantage.

This is a top notch store run by a great guy. The inventory here is higher than most other stores Ive been to, and Karl is extremely knowledgeable about the games. Ive yet to mention a game he wasnt familiar with, whether it was in his inventory or not (very unlikely but its happened). He also gives great recommendations, including being 2 for 2 for games for my seven year old niece and 3 for 3 on recommendations for myself. Theres no price gouging, either, the store runs on its own merit and the games are often slightly cheaper than MSRP. I dont live in West Chester anymore but I drive back whenever I want new games or card sleeves because this is the exact type of store I go out of my way to support. Keep up the good work, Karl.

Was out of town and decided to check out the local game stores. Came to this store and asked if they had any single magic cards I could see. Guy at the counter said he did but he was too busy to show them. Didn’t even bother to say sorry or to come back at another time. Awful customer service; left disappointed but hoping others have a better experience.

Ok. I LOVE board games. Could I be any more lucky than to have one of the best board game stores in the United States less than 30 minutes from me. According to their site they have over 2000 different board games in stock!!! I have spent a couple hours over the past 3 visits talking to the owner. He knows his games! I asked questions like:What are some good family games that are fun for kids and adults., What are some good games to play with large groups, What are some good games to play with my wife who isnt into overly complicated games... All of his answers were well thought out and explained how the games would meet my needs. All of the games so far that I have bought, were right on in matching the game to what I wanted to satisfy for my needs. They have a selection of games you can try in the store. They also have a nice area to play games. I have not gone yet but they have different board game theme nights every week for you to find others to play the games you like.

Super awesome small business catering to both popular games and a very extensive inventory of little known titles. Seriously, there are thousands of games in this place - amazing merchandising. Owner and staff are awesome and host a variety of gaming nights in addition to the retail aspect. Expect to pay close to full price for most games unless you shop the clearance section, but investment is well worth the price to support local business and truly unique game companies.

The staff is perfectly professional with less familiar customers and will give any suggestions of what you might also like based on present/previous purchases and/or whatever general sort of game you might be looking for.It also boasts a large selection of Magic the Gathering products and offers single cards, though lists of cards outside those displayed are limited to 10 unique items with any number of a specific card (as in you can get 4 of card A, 3 of card B, 1 of C, and so on)

He has a huge collection of product and also singles. Remember, hes usually a one man show, so dont be disappointed if he cant find the cards you need. 5/5 stars.

Huge selection of games to purchase. There is a large room off to the side with many tables and hundreds of games that you can grab and play with some friends. The owner, Karl, is very knowledgeable and has recommended several games for our group, which have turned out to be huge hits. Games are a little pricier than you can find online, but there is typically a discount given, and its always nice to support a small, local business. Plus, you dont have to wait for shipping!

Nothing comes close to Karls Games Keep. With an inviting host and a great atmosphere, I enjoy every experience I have here. First walking in, youll be surrounded by what could be described as pretty much a collection of every board game known to mankind (or at least very close). Also, the guy running the show knows his stuff, you can tell hes passionate about the turn based world. Highly recommended, dont shop anywhere else.

Easily the best board game store in PA - extremely knowledge and friendly staff. Inventory is priced well and the owner, Karl, makes sure sufficient quantities are available. You can expect to find a great stock of newly released games as well as hard-to-find older games.

Probably the most welcoming game store in the area. Karl maintains an enormously diverse inventory, and offers a room for open gaming; bring your own or borrow one from their extensive free library of demo copies. If theres something they dont have, they will offer you a discount if you order it through them.

This is my favorite board game store. It’s an hour away from where I live but it’s worth the drive. Karl, the owner, is a super cool guy. They organize tons of events every year, including used board game auctions and charity fundraising events.

A decently sized store, with hidden secrets behind every turn. Coming into this store felt like stepping into another world. Bizarre stacks of uncommon or never before heard of tabletop games, rows of D&D guidebooks, a VAST selection of Warhammer, and a quant selection of die. The store offers a side room for Magic The Gathering events, D&D campaigns, and whatever else a GM might conjure. Definitely a must for any rising tabletop player.Upon my first visit I had bought a card game, a guidebook, and some die, all of which were reasonably priced, and at beautiful quality.Nothing there ever stays the same, it seems. So frequent trips are a must!
