What a great little store. New to the area and loyal to my small hardware stores. These guys were helpful and very knowledgeable. Helped me pick out the new mower and all stuff I needed for the season. Will definitely be coming back for all my hardware needs!

I needed parts for a patio umbrella base and waited for help while he was showing a potential customer a we go lawnmower. This guy knows the score when it comes to explaining all the features this highclass mower had. After he got done with the mower demo it took him about 15 minutes to help me get the parts that I needed. I would not hesitate to go back to this place. maybe to consider buying the top of the Line WeGo mower even if it does cost $545. GOOD PLACE GOOD SERVICE

I love this store. They do tune ups for mowers and snow plows. I took my riding lawn mower and snow plow there. They even have a service to pick the equipment up at you home. A very nice gentleman came and loaded my mower and snow plow onto his trailer. The work done was excellent. I was very happy and at a decent price. My one complaint about the store is that it looks tired inside and needs a store rehab. However that will not prevent me from going back.

Al was one if the salesperson that helped me with paint selection and he answered all my questions about repainting my cabinets. Told him I would be back for more advice.

My daughter bought a house in West Chicago and needed a lawnmower so I checked for hardware stores and yours come up. I worked at a Ace Hardware here in WI a long time ago and love the Ace stores. Well we went in and had excellent service. The owner helped us with a mower and told us that they would deliver it and service later if needed. He also give us very helpful tips and running of mower and general information for a 1st time home buyer. My daughter will go back there for other items...support your local small business always! The absolute worst service I have ever received. Dropped off my lawnmower to get it fixed as the starter cord broke. They said it would be fixed in one day. Three days later, and still no call. I called them and they said it was ready. The lawnmower was missing the cover, and the person helping us told us that that part doesnt really matter anyways and that it was essentially gone. The pull cord that they installed was clearly used and I was charged $35 for it even though they had a cheaper one in the same store. Then, the mower wouldnt even start. Super unhelpful staff in the back, constantly giving attitude and not even wearing masks, as required by law. Im thankful that I got a refund for this service but will never go to an Ace Hardware again. My mower is unusable after it was repaired at this store and now I have to get a new one.

I feel bad that I only write reviews when Ive had a bad experience but heres another one.I picked up 6 items today. When I get to the register, the cashier needed to look up 3 of the items. He then charges me 20% - 33% more than the displayed price. I proceed to show him the displayed prices and he responds, Oh we need to change that.I asked if he would honor the displayed price since, you know, the displayed price is what a customer expects to pay. I get a flat, emotionless no. This is the classic I DONT GIVE A PUCK attitude folks. Thats what to expect at your local West Chicago ACE Hardware. Get it together guys. Your customer base is fading.

Always receive immediate helpful & courteous service; staff go out of their way to help when items not on hand; repair lawn mowers and snow blowers (pick-up and deliver if necessary). One does not often find this level of customer service anymore. I wish Murphys Ace Hardware many more years of successful business in our community!

I called in to ask if they sell water filters. They said yes, I then ask him if I give you a serial number of a water filter can you tell me if you have it in stock the gentleman says no I’m not near a computer. I said is it possible for you to check.Best thing I have heard NO I don’t want to go check. People wonder why Local stores are going out of business and people shop online more.I’m not asking for first class customer service but you can at least tell me that you have it so I can go buy it from you.

I needed a new key cut for my 2015 Ford. I had purchased a blank key and fob on Amazon. Although there are risks with these keys the people at West Chicago Ace hardware went out of their way to cut the key. It is now working fine.

I will only shop Ace...Murphys Ace. Smaller store. Possible for me to navigate. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Pleasant & courteous. Great location for me! If not in stock they order it for you. They have everything available at a fair price 👍🏼 However, anytime you need an item ordered from this place DO NOT get help from a guy named John. He works in the back and he’s the absolute worst 👎🏻😡 DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HIM LIKE I DID. RIDICULOUS!!

Ill never shop there again!! The price on the item that I purchased wasnt showing on sale in their system. The clerk requested a price check. When she was told that the item was on sale. She Never apologized. That was definitely poor customer service!!

I find the employees at this Ace Hardware are quick to approach me to help in any way they can. Theyre friendly and knowledgeable. I love to go into this well stocked store for paint, tools, outdoor grills, lawn furniture, snow blowers small items I need and more. The big box stores drive me crazy. Its hard to find someone to even ask a question of in Menards or Home Depot which are overwhelmingly large. Its a nice feeling to go into a family store like Murphy Ace Hardware because I can get in and out quickly with all the help I needed.

Al Murphy is always helpful. I came in looking for a snow shovel. He let me know that supplies today are limited, but he had a good shipment coming in tomorrow.

They really are, the helpful hardware wo & man. I went in there this evening because of that buy 1 get 1 free on the gallons of paint sale going thru Monday. I wanted to get some samples to put on the walls before I committed to the gallons. Thought they were open till 7PM but they close @ 6PM on Saturday. The guy was there till 20 minutes after closing making my 4 sample pints & he was still helping another couple with their paint. I love this store! Even when Im just looking for 1 little screw I get the same help. I hope they never go out of business.

Drawers of nuts and bolts. Will order for you. Honor ace flyer. Mix paint better that other stores- all gallons same color- imagine that .

Terrible location. Employees all have something better to do than help a customer out. It took 4 people to do one in others job cuz they hate their jobs. Everyone has an attitude and would not help with tool replacement for craftsman. I will never go to this location ever again, and would recommend others to go elsewhere. This Ace sucks........
