I worked at Canteen for a little over 4 years and although the people I worked with were absolutely amazing, the people I worked for are not. I was worthy enough to train at our other locations and said to be a valued member of the team, which I was young enough to believe.. years later I have moved on from a company that is fueled by greed and rides on the backs of those who are less compensated. They will not pay out any of your PTO regardless of how long you’ve been with them, and I’ve seen $2.45 more on my paychecks in all that time. My advice to anyone looking to work for any canteen would be to strongly reconsider trying a place that puts their employees first. You deserve better than a place that takes weeks for a response from any management.

I worked for the location on the west side of Des Moines, IA. It was a terrible experience. Management was BY FAR my worst experience with this position. I worked under Greg, Josh, and Carlos. Carlos was a great supervisor but the other two are terrible leaders and only look out for what works best in their favor. I started having issues when Greg and I argued about his idea of wanting to write me up because I had military training that weekend (Notified him of all the dates for the year two months prior). After this altercation Josh and I started to have issues with how he spoke to me when I came to him for help. He is very unprofessional and should not be in the position he is in. Josh also informed other drivers on my paycheck and my average amount. This than caused more issues down the line. Long story short, investigate who you are applying for. Dont apply for a job if the managers wont respect you as an employee/person.

These people are amazing and they donate to the community, The angels serving people of Iowa love your contributions keep up the good work. F***ING great!!!!

Their vending machines are designed to steal your money over time. They steal a little bit from you every day and it adds up in the end. I finally decided to give them a call after my money was stolen again. I was told I would receive a callback and never got one. If your workplace provides these vending machines, avoid them.

Horrible company, hardly fill the machines anymore. Would be nice to eat during lunch.

These guys have the worst vending machines ever.
