Lots of stuff and pretty helpful, but I spent 10 minutes looking at 1 wall of accessories and no one asked me if I was looking for something. Multiple staff members walked by me into the staff only area. When I finally checked out someone looked up what I was looking for in the accessories section and found that it wasnt available in store.
Guitar Center Store is very good. But staffs at this store are worst i have ever met. Dont ever enroll any lessons in this store. they just cheat your money.
I stopped in the store and was running short on time. Not a guitar expert by any means and was looking for a specific guitar for a birthday present. I spoke with Cody, and despite my time crunch, he was very professional and walked around with me answering my questions as we looked. I wasnt planning on making a purchase that day, but after speaking with him I felt confident that I was making the right choice. Everyone at the store was friendly and I walked out extremely happy with guitar in hand. I will be back for future purchases! Thanks to everyone that helped me that day!
Went to get our daughter a new guitar for her birthday. We worked with Scott who was amazing making sure she got what SHE wanted, set us up with everything we would need and never once felt like he was pushy or taking advantage of the situation. The overall experience was great and now our daughter has everything she could want and need! Thank you again, Scott! Appreciate it!
Honestly love the people here. Theyve went above and beyond to help me and my family out from answering questions to testing equipment to make sure its the right one. They have a 45 day return policy along with price matching. All thier equipment so far have been great quality as well. I would highly recommend this store for your audio and musical needs.
I just sold some used gear to the store today. Store manager, Seth, was a delight to work with. He was kind and accommodating, gave me a fair price, and did all this while having to juggle 4 other customers who were already in process. And on top of that, he gave me a fair price. I have always had a really good experience with the people at that store and Seth is among the best. Keep up the good work!
Kind staff and great selection of instruments! Found my favorite guitar here for an excellent price.
While we were there we got excellent customer service, they were able to answer any of our questions, and they gave many great tips and suggestions. Cody was able to help me and my group with all our questions and me and my group really appreciate his help
Nice selection of new and used gear. The staff went above and beyond. Great people!
Tried offering $200 for a 2 week old $600 guitar.... Better off using a different vendor online. Their stock is very limited as well wont be returning.
The front room staff is friendly & said hello as soon as I walked in the door. Asked me what I was looking for. Told me where to find it in the store. Unfortunately the back room staff lied to me saying they cant sell me 1 wireless microphone without bundling it as a wireless microphone system. I know they can because I saw multiple boxes of 1 microphone per box on the shelf behind him on the top right shelf, opposite of the top left shelf he pulled the system bundle box. Dont shop here if all you need is a replacement mic. They wont sell it to you. So disappointing because I had heard good things about this store from my brother-in-law and sister who buy all their gear here.
Employees are hit or miss. Either they are helpful, or they’re brand new and have no idea what is going on. Stock is always very limited on higher end products.
My husband and I were here looking for active pick up for one of his guitars. The staff was great. Very pleasant and knowledgeable.
Offered them a foot pedal Channel whatever those are called and a bunch of other things like guitar strings, picks, a ¡rig... they wouldnt buy a single thing and they low-balled me on a small amp that I unfortunately had to let go
ALL the stuff for guitars and musicians! Plus very helpful and encouraging staff.
Cody is one of the greatest examples of customer service I have ever seen, his welcomeness and willingness to help made my time at guitar center a great time. Give Cody a raise
Shopped for a keyboard for my 5-year-old. Chris R. helped us. He was kind, knowledgable, and super excited about my sons interest in piano. We thought about buying elsewhere, but after the service we received at GC and Chris specifically, we decided to go back. When we returned a week later to make the purchase, he remembered us! Give that kid a raise.
I must follow...Lord, forgive them, they know not what they do. Amen.LOL
Much like many big box chain stores, youre only going to visit here because they have the lowest price on items you need right away (busted drum head, guitar strings, sticks, etc.). If you can stand to wait a few days, ordering online is probably a better option than visiting here. Also, dont go if youre expecting any kind of knowledgeable help or minimum level customer service. GC has neither.
I’ve bought a guitar from here before but this time years later I was asking for simple things. The guitar was priced 100 dollars higher than its cost everywhere else. I asked them to throw in a case and a few little things. They said that the price for everything is what it is and wouldn’t budge. They said between internet sales and their corporation as a whole they don’t have to do trade like bargains anymore. I then left saying I was glad to not make the mistake of purchasing from them ever again.
I love to tryout the instruments. And the staff are friendly and helpful.
All of your guitar needs in one shop. Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Martin, Taylor and many other brands. Marshall, Orange and other amps available. If they dont have what you are looking for they can order it quickly. Great pedal selections, drums, microphones and pro audio all in one spot. Good keyboard selections.Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Guitar lessons and repairs. Stop in for all your music needs. Great place to find your next guitar, bass or drum kit. Best music store in Des Moines.
Stock is limited. Sales folk are friendly and helpful, though. Just make sure youre not being suggested something more expensive than you need.
Staff not knowledgeable or very helpful in finding a brand of strings I have purchased from guitar center before, but they have rearranged everything and couldnt help me locate the item I needed.I found d it myself and purchased the strings.
This place used to be alot better. I think covid was hard on guitar center.
Amazing staff. Super friendly and extremely helpful
I was wanting to purchase some monitors. They couldn’t get any of them to sound right that they had for display either they didn’t work at all I r there’s was alit of static or muffled their headphones displays had building music source and none of those worked. Back to the monitors they were out of the monitors that I decided to get so I ordered them. Agent to pick them up and decided they would work better if I had some monitor cables. They didnt have any in any configuration. he kept trying to sell me guitar cables instead of the correct cable.
Cody is a legend and deserves a raise. Customer service is amazing.
Good atmosphere. I did get you guys a guitar sell though by playing a guitar in your acoustic room so... If it happens again Im going to consider it my hiring date lol
Nice ambience. And good supporting staff
Good times, great prices. Bought a practice amp below Amazon price. And I took it home!
Horrible customer service. Went in to see if they had record players. Person that was helping me walked away while I was asking questions? Said something to the manager and he made me feel like I did something wrong? Horrible group of people work at this location and would not recommend
Helped fix my guitar quickly and the tech went out of his way to do so.
Some the the best customer service Ive ever experienced. Store manager was extremely helpful and answered every question and concern we had. Highly recommended for any guitar needs.
Guitar center is a big box stores I do shop there for a few things but there are smaller Guitar stores in the Des Moines area I shop at alot more
Awesome guys. Wish the selection was better stocked for left handers.
Guitar centers pretty rad, they get a lot of flack from people but when youre like me and have zero patience for online ordering and you want new gear, you can count on guitar center having something in stock and available. Ive also sold lots of gear at guitar center and I feel I get a fair price.
Ive been going to guitar center since the first store opened on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood.Always a great time with great people.
I have had great experiences here .Great service always..I love there store .Went to my 1st Gutiar Center in LA ..great Service there as well..But I live 1/2mile from the store in West Des Moines IA great place for Music lovers. They give musical instrument lessons to..
If you want to wait 4 weeks to get a set of strings put on your guitar, then this is the place to go. Better cancel all your lessons for the next month after dropping off your guitar.
Love Guitar Center. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fun City. Wonder if the guitars are sterilized though.
This place absolutely shafts musicians when they buy used gear. The associate offered me $70 for a PRS guitar. I sold it on marketplace for $400. I sold them an Amp in the past for peanuts and they put it on the shelf for 6 times what they paid me for it. Do not waste your time!
Excellent service, great staff, just picked up a new guitar from there! Definitely a musicians heaven got my eye on a Jackson, next, plus they have 30 day layaway and if you have something on layaway and they have a sale you get the sale price on your purchase win win
The staff is really nice and I love shopping here, 10/10 will shop here again
What an awesome place. Very helpful staff. Thanks
Best prices on name brand gear for guitarists, drummers, keyboardists, and more. Plenty of trendy accessories, and knowledgeable salespeople. Not as impressive is their collection of footpedals, compared to Pro Music Ctr., and not quite the library of musical literature that Reimans Music offers, but otherwise, GC is the goto place for all my guitar slinging needs.
If they dont have it in stock you dont need it.
Staff are always helpful and friendly, and welcome my ten year olds curiosity and eagerness to learn to play drums!
Great place, friendly staff and great prices.👍
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! Major thanks to Collin, who spent nearly an hour with us trying to problem solve what turned out to be a complex microphone dilemma, and also to Tanner... These guys went above and beyond in every manner possible and have created two Guitar Center customers for life!
Enjoyable experience helpful staff
Been shoping guitar center since the first store opened up in Hollywood on sunset Blvd
Friendly staff. And a large selection of items. Many guitars and supplies. They have the largest percussion section in town.
I always buy my drumsticks and drumkits from here
Im autistic and I usually go in here with my partner and the Manager is very helpful and so is everyone else working there. Ive gotten my Jackson dinky, my studio monitors and my soon to be Dove Pro and everyone is super nice and welcoming I wouldnt go any where else to ask questions Im too afraid to ask. Superb staff and good inventory
Very helpful with recommendations on pedal systems
Guitar Center is full of a lot of fun energy that just wanna play guitar. They never seem to disappoint. The people are friendly and are full of advice to give you the best rock and roll experience.
They have layaway so my 13 year old was able to get an amazing amp he otherwise may have never been able to afford. Always a very helpful and friendly staff. They let you try out and play any instrument you may be interested in purchasing to see how you like how it sounds. They are very laid back and each time we visited we stayed a couple hours and had nothing but nice welcoming hellos by all staff!
CLOSED! Nothing on their website or google to find out they were closed. Several people were here at the same time as me who apparently thought they were open too. Google actually says theyre open. Their hours report their open today. I went online to see if there was a microphone in stock, used the shop this store and there was no way to check inventory and no warning to say they were closed due to Covid 19. Many similar electronics stores like Best Buy and Micro Center have been open thru this. Drove 20 minutes down here to see a piece of paper on the door saying theyre closed. Typical box store.
The crew at this Guitar Center are awesome. Im usually unable to afford the guitar of my dreams so Im usually a window shopper but these guys are so full of information and are super helpful.
Great people very helpful great place
Happy with customer service! 10/10
Every Guitar Center I visited previously disappointed me, especially in the area of customer service from the employees. Sales associates at other Guitar Center locations around the Midwest are all busy trying to act like they are too cool for school and that they are way better musicians than anybody else.NOT AT THIS LOCATION. I was greeted by not one but TWO members of the staff, and all associates were friendly and helpful. They had a great selection of guitars, basses and accessories.Frankly I had all but given up on Guitar Center until visiting this store today. I am actually considering returning to this store and purchasing a musical instrument in the future, solely based on the excellent customer service provided by the staff.
The manager is nice. His name is Cody. John is the guy always on the floor who acts like he’s cooler than everyone. Avoid him at all costs. He’s very rude.
Excellent staff and service.
Its guitar center what can I say
Heard good things!
I generally like Guitar Center but it seems like customer service stops at the front desk. All the employees just hung out at the front desk. When I walked in, I told the guy what I was looking for and he just pointed to the department and told me I could go look for it. Too many items in boxes and not set up so you can see them. What they do have set out for demo is not plugged in so you can try it and there is no one around to assist in doing so. Could be so much better, especially if the employees that go there to work, would work, instead of standing around talking to each other. Hope it gets better, theres not much to choose from in Des Moinesand GC could crush it with a little more effort. I would have bought an electronic drum set if I could have gotten some help.
Just left there. It was hard to get service. I was in line to get help and they helped people that just walked in before me. When I asked questions I felt non important.
I walked in there and kind of felt overwhelmed because there was so many guitars there and I had to idea what to look for. But one of the staff showed me some acoustics that were good for beginners and he was so helpful. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend
Helpful and friendly staff.
Good selection of acoustic and electric guitars the bass section is kind of small but has great variety. The staff here are friendly and always willing to help and answer questions and know what they are talking about. I would trust their shop to take care of my bass and guitar to tube up or repair.
Bought a gorgeous left handed electric guitar and amp recently. Staff gave exceptional customer service. Trying out the instruments is fun! Something for everyone.
People who need to know already know about Guitar Center. Its a wonderful resource for guitar pickers, both amature and professional. Their selection of electric and acoustic instruments is extensive. They offer the brands and models that string players know and respect, as well as amps and accessories. And, the sales assistants are knowledgable and helpful. You really cant ask much more of a retail store.
Same as everywhere. Meh.
Got my 7 string Ibanez, and a katana 50 watt amp, staff was really helpful through the buying process.
Good vibes in this place.. Always have what I need or can get it. Lessons are great too! 😃
I like the store I like music though I’m more of a violin person than a guitar person but hey I still like checking out music stores and they’ve got a pretty good selection here I can play the violin pretty well you would think it wouldn’t be much different than playing the guitar in some respects but apparently it’s a lot different
The people that work there are wonderful.. they know their stuff!! The store is inviting they have a lot to choose from they have almost everything that you need!
Just got my 2nd guitar! Love this place! Always honest and helpful especially to newbies like me.
Excellent lessons. They took the time to listen to what I wanted to accomplish and then matched me with a teacher whos excited about working with me.
Guitar Center gets a bad reputation for a good reason, their employees are not good at their jobs. Granted, retail is a tough job, but if you are going to work in a guitar store you should probably know all the products and be able to service them. The store itself is well organized and the selection is incredible but none of the employees care to be there for the customers.
As a musician this is my go to spot for all my musical needs. Ask my wife, I have to make a point to stop in even if its out of my way.
Great place for musical desires... Decent service, at least they know most instruments well.
Good place great location. I took a star off for the employee not knowing what an XLR cable was.
Friendly staff, they are there to help you but respect your decision to just browse or grab an instrument and play. They do not look over your shoulder while you play. But if you have a question they are attentive and will give quality customer service when you need it.
Had a new set of humbuckers installed in my 15 year old Epiphone Les Paul, and couldnt be more satisfied with the customer service! 10 out of 10 will rock with yall again!
The guys in there know absolutely nothing about recording and microphones the guy in the back on recording didnt even know what spl meant save yourself the hassle and shop online at zzounds or sweetwater these guys are terrible
Very helpful employees. All of them!! Easy to ask questions and talk to!
Great inventory if you need to upgrade or reboot your equipment knowledgeable helpful folks.
Not really friendly and the clerks jump from one customer to another while dealing with you. Willing to pay more at Cedar Rapids Guitar Center since they know how to treat customers. Out of my four visits one has been pleasant and that was three years ago.
Love this place, we could spend all day there playing with the many different instruments. The staff is very helpful and kind.
We were helped by a knowledgeable and competent employee. Product selection was good, and all staff members were available and eager to help, without being obnoxious.
A pretty good store with all your guitar needs. I knew a guy named Robb who worked here for awhile.
