I went to the West Hartford location today to look for tile for a large kitchen renovation. I browsed the store for at least 20 minutes-not a single staff member asked me if i would like some assistance--nor did they acknowledge my presence in the store! There were 4 people working and when i first walked in I was the only customer in the store at the time. Needless to say they lost out on a substantial sale. What has happened to friendly customer service--Hello is there something I can help you with today? or Hello --please take a few minutes to browse we will be right with you! ---- If you are looking for friendly curtiious customer service--i would advise you to shop elsewhere!

Jim is very helpful and polite, was a joy to work with and talk to about job. Very knowledgeable about products. I have only dealt with Jim Im sure the other guys at the contractor counter are good as well.

Customer service is really poor in West Hartford store. . I went in a few times to pick backsplash and struggled to get help. When I did work with one salesman he seemed disinterested in the process. Another time I waited a while in front of a salespersons desk. She was working on something (no other customer around). Seemed annoyed when her coworker suggested I might need help.I bought elsewhere as I was very disappointed.

Over the past 15 years we have done several renovation projects ranging from a bathroom remodel to a whole house renovation. We have always dealt with Joe and he has always been great to deal with and had a lot of good design ideas. We have been very happy with the quality and price of what we have purchased and Joe always goes above and beyond to make sure we are happy.

Staff are good. Company’s inventory, ordering and tracking system is not - meaning it’s a lottery as to when you’ll get your tile. Partial shipments, delay to project. We will not use them again because of this.

I am puzzled and frustrated by the poor service offered to me at Tile America. If there were a no-star category, I would use it. Halfway through construction of our bathroom, the contractor discovered that no bull-nosed tile had been delivered. I called to have the tiles ordered and sent. That was over five weeks ago. The first version of their response to my asking why the tiles had not arrived in two weeks was that the order must have been lost. They said they would reorder. Since then, their representative has offered as a response, We dont know where they are. My repeated requests for updating have not been responded to. This last Monday, I asked the representative to call me with an update and when I hadnt heard from her in three hours, I drove over to talk to her as she sat in an empty show room. She had no further news and promised to be in touch. I called her today and asked her to call right away and it is now two hours later. The bathroom, which was to be finished in mid April, is still half-done on April 1. I have never been treated so poorly by any company.

My wife and I met with sales rep Nicky to design the tile layout for our new bath tub. Nicky was very patient and explained everything very clearly, we left feeling confident and happy with our purchase. Cant wait to see the finished product...thanks Nicky!

The whole team at Tile America is so helpful and knowledgeable! The new showroom redesign is easy to navigate and really showcases their great selection. I always know I will find what I am looking for when I bring my clients in.

Tile America was hands down the easiest place to do business. The prices are fair, the service was outstanding and discussions of what is current in design never wavered. The store staff was superb in helping each other when the store got busy. Good teamwork-impressed.

The crew at the Tile America store in West Hartford is top notch. We recently remodeled our kitchen and loved their designers - the lead time was short and price was fair.We were very happy with our experience and will be using them again when we remodel our master bath.

Came here to look at tiles for two bath remodels and updates to our kitchen. They do have a very extensive range of prices and styles that should meet most peoples needs. The staff did not seem interested at all in helping us, and seemed unhappy that we brought one of our kids with us. It was not a busy day, there was only one other group in the store and we still had a hard time getting anyone to help us. It sounds like we did not have the typical experience that most people had here, but we took our business elsewhere.

I needed scrap pieces of granite for a project and was met with the friendliest and most welcoming staff. The selection was great, and the service even better!

BUYER BE WEARY OF THIS PLACE. This is an unscrupulous place. They gave us a price for a piece of granite. We said wed take it and that our contractor would be in touch. You think all is set. Then when our contractor goes down to give them the template they say the piece is no longer available but they have another piece at a higher price. We return to the store with the contractor and negotiate to keep the initial price. You pay for the granite. All is set, so you think. Then they contact you a little while later and say oops, your contractor didnt include a piece in his template and you need to pay more money (interestingly enough bringing the purchase to the higher price they wanted.you to pay for.the second piece of granite). Hmmmmm. Contractor says he did include it. Con game! Buyer beware.

After my contractors I use when ANY tile or stonework is needed, this was the only business I would have them use. That was then, over only a $7.00 dollar deal, which is nothing, but the ignorance of how I was treated, the lying to me over the order, then the shear negligence of the associate I dealt with, I would not recommend this company to ANY contractor, designer, or even the DIY home owner. You would get better service and respect at Lowes as you would at this location in West Hartford. And I am not ashamed to even put my name to this grievance...Keith B. Gray, Southington, CT.
