I did review all the reviews before I rented from here. I rented twice. I chose this location due to its proximity to me.The first time they charged me for insurance even though I declined. They did refund me the money back. 2nd time had no issues. Did have issues with online check it. Had to go into the store. Apted for in store check in the 2nd time. Checking did not take long. Returned the first truck overnight w key drop off. Staff was friendly and accomodating.
Once again the team at the South Street U-Haul made it very painless and seamless for me to get a truck move my stuff and drop off the truck. Meddie was amazing. She literally ran to get my truck for me as I was taking care of something else. I will continue to use this location each time I need to rent a truck. Thank you
God awful service, had a reservation and was told that our storage unit was not going to be guaranteed. The place look completely untrustworthy with my belongings. Guy at the front was snarky and attitudinal. Wouldnt recommend, customer service was terrible and place looked janky.
Rented trailers from this U-Haul twice. Both times the transaction was painless. Would go again.
I checked in online as uhaul requested to accelerate the process. When I arrived, I stood in line for over 30 minutes waiting to be helped. Clearly understaffed and lacking a proper sense of urgency. Totally unacceptable.
This has to be the most poorly run, uneducated UHaul Storage Company in the United States. Dont bother to go there for anything, unless you want poor service, watch lazy people and waste your time.
Reviews don’t lie stay away from this place drove 22 miles they charge me $7.50 for gas and $2.00 dollars to put it in and I already had put in $5 dollars myself 22 miles doesn’t burn more then 2 1/2 gallons No wonder they got more negative reviews then good reviews And it’s not about the $9.50 it’s the principle The truck should be full when you pull out of there and you should return your full not a little over a quarter then you got a bring it back the same way.
If I can give them zero stars I would. Terrible customer service, the lazy representative doesnt even want to move off her chair. Snotty attitude, rolling her eyes like a kid. Had a reservation, a guaranteed one. Go to pick up and was told they couldnt give it to me. Sent me to traffic and Samantha from traffic didnt do anything for me besides argue with me and put me on hold for 40+ minutes. Its now Sunday 14 hours later and still no answer or call back from Samantha in the traffic department. Definitely taking my business elsewhere. Oh and they owe me $50 bucks - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ON THEIR WEBSITE.
Had a 15 foot truck in stock and we were able to reserve it less than 12 hours before picking up. Truck had seen better days with >100k miles, but staff was very friendly, truck fit everything we needed, and we found the included hand trolley very useful (even though we were not planning on using it and would not have ordered one if given the option). Very pleased!
I cannot continue to go to an establishment that does not have any consideration for their employees. They recently fired the only person who knew what they were doing, was kind, knowledgeable and extremely friendly Oh and coincidentally the only FEMALE on staff.. I will no longer use this establishment and suggest you all go elsewhere.
This you haul is local and convenient to me. Ive always gotten propane there on a regular basis but it has become very frustrating in the last year. Lately they either dont have propane or dont have anyone qualified at the time And I have to stop back later. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 trips which is absolutely ridiculous. I run a local business myself, If I had to turn people away because I didnt stock the item where there is only one person in my store back and give it to you And he only works a couple hours A-day, Then you would go somewhere else. I guess I will be buying propane somewhere else

Bad. Very bad.Made a reservation through the U-Haul website to have a trailer hitch installed at this location the following Friday. We received a confirmation email immediately.When we arrived on Friday, the staff told us that they didnt have the parts for the installation. The least they could have done was call or email to tell us that they wouldnt be able to follow through on the reservation, but no. Consequently we made an hour-long round trip for no reason. I would have felt more forgiving if they offered a different reservation at a reduced price to make up for their failure, but they did absolutely nothing.
Great people and facility. They kept my stuff safe for more than a year and a half. A bit pricey compared to where Im from, but competitive for where they are.
Had a Scheduled appointment for Saturday at noon. Showed up and they said they were busy (two other people in the store) and that it would take a while.I said I could leave it if need be. They said they would give me a call when it was done or at 5pm if they couldn’t get to it.6pm no phone call so I called them. You get a call center person. She said she would check, couldn’t tell. She said she saw my appointment and identified me by my last name (which I hadn’t given) said she would call the store. She said someone from the store would be back to me shortly.After 7 no answer. So I called at 7:45am, Call Center employee says “ohh there is no one that can come to the phone, I will sent them a message”.10:35am third phone call to the store, routed to the call center. Employee says they are all busy but he will send them a message, can’t tell if it’s done. I explain that I need my car back and he says “your options are to leave a message or drive there”12:45pm I drive there. A man struggles to use the computer trying to find my reservation, I explain it was forYesterday, he can’t figure that out. I spot my keys on the wall and angrily tell the befuddled employee to give me my car. He stares blank and confused for the longest 45 seconds of my life before giving them to me.My car is right where I left it and has not moved. 24 hours, one closing and one opening and NOONE contacted me. That’s unacceptable
I should have read the reviews before I rented. I learned my lesson, will never do that again!.
In the immortal words of Jerry Seinfeld: you know how to take the reservation, you just dont know how to hold the reservation. And thats really the most important part of the reservation: the holding.
This location is staffed with a prideful and respectful team. I rented an auto transport and had an overall simple and good experience. If i was in the area I would definitely rent from here again.
They do not have EZpass accounts with NY or NJ- Uhaul will be charged by EZpass for this, wait 2 months and then tack on $50 for each toll you take plus their own administration fee. They can charge your account because of the waiver you sign to use Uhaul. I was on the phone for 3hrs (I’m not kidding I wanted an answer) not only did they excuse themselves from the problem, they said the problem is between you and EZpass. IF you call EZpass they can’t work with you because you don’t own the vehicle. There is nothing you can do, it’s negligent on Uhaul’s part for not getting all their vehicles EZpass accounts.
Everything was fine with picking up the truck and dropping it off but they tried to charge me $60 for fuel refilling even though I returned it with the exact amount as when I picked it up. The manager said that the guy who checked it in rounded down the fuel amount, however when they checked the pre-rental amount they rounded up. Luckily they refunded it but rent with caution, and take a picture of the gas gauge before driving.
The lady who works needs to work on her customer service skills. I walk in and she’s on her personal cell phone and looks up at me like I just killed her dog. I didn’t understand something she said so I said “I’m sorry,can you repeat that?” And she gave the nastiest look and acted like I asked for a damn kidney and when I went to return the truck, I was literally 2mins passed closing time, the door was unlocked so I walked in and she said were closed, so I asked where I can return the keys and she actually made me walk back out and put them thru the damn key box, which the keys just fall onto the floor on this inside, instead of taking 1 second of her time and grabbing the keys. Y’all need to hire people with great customer service skills and not these people who act like their customers are scum and bothering them at have have what they are paid to do. I will never rent from this place again just because of her.

Some of the people who work here could not care less about customers. You’re far better off going to the Capitol Ave location.Not rating them lower because the quality of their fleet and their boxes are as good as any other uhual location.
This was a good place to rent from 3 years ago. Just recently rented and they charged my credit card incorrectly. I had to call corporate office and i am still waiting for a response. I will never go here again. Incompetent management.

Just really lackluster service. They have an attitude and stank look on their faces. They dont greet people or even look interested in helping you. This location was not responsible for my issue, however, from a customer service POV, they need retraining.My first experience with Uhaul will be my last.
Staff were helpful and the equipment was in excellent condition one of the best rental experience I have ever had.
They only have 1 u-box trailer so it can take days to get your stuff. The customer service is virtually non-existent.
Storage space is good, but they dont totally clear your space after it snows.
DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR - This place cost me $750 due to a faulty wiring harness/shoddy installation that burned out my cars electronics. Neither U-Haul or their insurance company admitted any responsibility.
It took 4 tries and 4 visits and lots of my wasted time off from work before they got the correct trailer hitch part in. Then, on my 5th visit, I had to wait while they did someone elses car, who wasnt even there! Therefor I was late for another meeting.They did comp me some of the cost. However, the hassle and lack of professionalism was completely unnecessary.
DO NOT!! I REPEAT DO NOT LET THESE GUYS DO THE WIRING FOR YOUR HITCH . HAD THEM INSTALL HITCH AND WIRING. HITCH WAS INSTALLED WITH WIRING 16 MONTHS AGO, 7 MONTHS GO BY AND WIRES TO HITCH STOP WORKING. I PAID FOR 2 YEAR WARRANTY SO THEY REPAIRED IT FOR FREE ONLY FOR IT TO GO AGAIN THIS PAST WEEK ONLY THIS TIME IT DIDNT JUST AFFECT THE TRAILER WIRING BUT I LOST MY REAR TURN SIGNALS, BRAKE LIGHTS AND FLASHERS. HAD TO PAY $400.00 TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR THEIR HACK JOB AND ANOTHER $200.00 TO REPLACE THEIR BOTCH WIRING WITH THE FACTORY QUALITY TRAILER WIRING. ADVICE IS TO HAVE YOUR DEALERSHIP DO THE WIRING FOR YOUR TRAILER!!!
THE TRAILER WAS NOT HOOKED UP TO MY TRUCK PROPERLY, THE TRAILER CAME OFF THE BALL ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE IDIOT WHO HOOKED IT UP DIDNT DO IT RIGHT. I LOST THE TRAILER ON 84 WEST IN NEW YORK WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID ANY SORT OF ACCIDENT THAT ENDED COSTING ME A LOSS OF OVER 2.5 HOURS AND A TIRE FOR $200.00. IF YOU WISH TO DIE THIS IS THE PLACE TO GET YOUR TRAILED HOOKED UP AT. TOTAL PROS AT BEING COMAKAZIS AT YOUR EXPENSE AND OTHERS.

Absolutely awful, never attached trailer properly, fell off during drive, management doesnt care they put lives at risk. Faulty equipment, flat tires, lights not works, brakes inoperative. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, your life literally depends on it!!!!!

These idiots never have trucks even when you have reservations. I personally know 4 guys who could not get truck on their move day and they had to get truck from Capitol eve location.
They only have one person on staff they can fill propane and every time I show up that one person is never there. Pretty stupid not to require every employee to get certified to fill propane.

I originally ordered a small unit moved to a a “bigger unit” (10x10) and they trying to charge me for a big unit, they made a mistake by moving me to a 10x17 and I already moved my stuff unprofessional
Be aware of traffic in the area.
Very professional, helpful, and cost-effective.
They didnt have what I made a RESERVATION for and called me to let me know the day before that I could drive a half hour to get it somewhere else. Then, to make it worse they would not honor the $50 credit that they claim on the website will be given if they dont have your reservation. Not the first time this has happened either. U-haul is the worst.
