WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL REAL? THEY TURNED INTO THE WRONG WRONG !!I tried to consign with them and it was a huge waste of time, I gave them a 100 % AUTHENTIC NEW Celine bag purchased from the Celine store, they accepted it the person at the Melrose store told me over and over how beautiful it is..blah blah...fast forward 2 weeks, we cannot accept your bag it is questionable..what !!!!!!???? Fortunately for me it was returned to me, unlike the many reviews I have read..SAD because I really liked this place...Many options out there REAL REAL you better wakeup your reputation is all you have in the consignment world!

WOW! Isnt anyone at this company concerned about the overwhelming number of negative reviews here. I see my bad experience described again and again. I (and a friend) took some designer clothing with tags to the Los Angeles store, and they seem to have disappeared. Customer service is horrible. At this point, we just want our items back. If they continue their sloppy handling of consignments and poor treatment of customers, their repution will undermine them.

Sent in a $4000 fur coat, after 1 week i changed my mind and got confirmation that TRR was sending it back. Only they lost it and sent me $600 for my troubles. Have read plenty of other reviews saying the same thing, dont ever list anything with them. Okay store for buying clothes, but I will never shop there again.

Simple advice: find another outlet to sell your luxury items. My scheduled visit started with my arrival in their showroom in Beverly Hills. I was escorted not to a private area, but outside in the courtyard where several non employees were hanging out. Their excuse was COVID, yet they were willing to open showroom for paying clients. I didn’t feel comfortable displaying over $10k in bags publicly, yet I wasn’t asked. The process was taking pictures and a statement: “they will be authenticated within 7 days and placed on sale upon approval”, all without a printed receipt of items received. After 7 days, I still didn’t receive either a receipt or approval emails. I only received a receipt after I complained 12 days into transaction with the new excuse that email wasn’t working and approval is now up to 14 days. After 14 days, I only receive one item approval (very low ball offer) on several items sent. They do not appraise items in California, but in NJ! I decided to stop all transactions and hope I get my bags back. Too scary!!Update: RealReal now tells me it will take 4-6 weeks for my items to be returned9/8 1 month later I received 1 item out of four- no tracking info sent.

Horrible experience, they gave me a quote for our Chanel necklace of between $1095-$1,395 so I sent it in only for them to say because the bag isnt the original bag it came with they cant buy it and the appraiser was very rude acting like I sent them junk !!!! I wish I could leave a negative -10 rating !!

The service, or lack of service is noticeable immediately. On the mens side there is one resale specialist. He is dealing with 10 different things, none of which is dealing with or helping customers. There were 2 girls sitting at the door on a computer doing nothing. When asked for help, they direct me to the lone sales person. This store sells extremely high-end products and their service should reflect that. I wanted to see a bag that was up on a shelf, which a large portion of their merchandise is. The bag I wanted to look at was over $3,000. The same bag new is about $100 more. Doesnt make much sense

I tried to consign and they lost my package of my moms European designer vintage clothing and never followed though to resolve this!! I called and emailed sooooo many people with no response. I never got money or my clothes back and I used to be their biggest advocate. Wish i never told anyone to shop there. This went from being my favorite shop to the place I avoid at all cost…will never give them my business again after this.

This is a total scam! This is a total scam! I called to make a virtual appointment to review what I wanted to sell. I was told they would call me back to set it up. I called them 5 days later after not hearing from them. I was able to make an appointment during that call for the following Tuesday. Tuesday morning the buyer confirmed. Then right before our appointment she canceled. We rescheduled for the next day at the same time. She never showed up. I texted her to ask her status and 3 days later I have not heard from her. No wonder they are not profitable.

Trash customer service. They were supposed to send out my consignment check over a month ago & I still haven’t gotten it. Have talked to multiple people over the phone who were of zero help and just said the same thing “it’ll take 7-10 business days deliver” EVERY SINGLE TIME YET STILL DONT HAVE MY CHECK. Texted a consignor relations attendant and the moment I voiced my frustrations with my experience with this company they stopped answering. Not one person has been helpful to me. I will give The Real Real 10 more business days to deliver my check. If I don’t get it by then I WILL be taking legal action because this is straight up scamming

Great concept, nearly new and barely worn fashion, and you can find a bargain too, what’s not to like.The staff are super friendly and helpful. The App helps out with what’s in stock. Sizing can be an issue, I find very little in my size - it would be better if I was bigger or smaller, my partner is luckier than I though.You can make some significant savings on retail, but expect to pay over retail for limited edition and hard to get pieces.

A good selection of pieces in a great space. It is a great addition to the online platform. As with all things that are prize pieces, you have to look and do so regularly. So I would encourage people to visit the store regularly. you just might find that perfect piece for the perfect price. To people who elect to sell to/through the store, I would say that complaints after the fact are just not productive. The terms are clear and the seller makes the choice at the end of the day.

Its a consignment store, so their selection is often a little iffy (albeit always name brand, always lightly-used). Ultimately though, it feels very much ado about nothing. Their staff are excellent, but their selection is lacking.

Let me start by saying that I 100% support The RealReal’s mission. We all need to purchase more second hand apparel.That said, my wife and I had an unpleasant experience today. My wife found a dress she was absolutely in love with and was at the cash register, credit card in hand, ready to purchase when the sales associate informed us that the dress had been purchased online and then confiscated the dress.I’m not saying don’t buy from the RealReal, but be mindful that what is in store may not be for sale. Next time we’ll be purchasing online. I’m not sure why we’d go back in if this could happen again.

A beautiful retail space and tons of great items to browse. However: rude staff (I was trying to buy a few pins and clearly they didnt think anything priced at less than $1,000 was worth their effort - I left without the pins!). Exorbitant prices. And not a lot of fresh thinking: it looks just like any other fancy store in Beverly Hills. Its a shame given they are an online start-up and the rest of the new players in this area of Melrose are really pushing themselves to innovate their approach to retail (see Nike Melrose next doors!).

Cool if youre looking for designer pieces from older seasons that you cant buy new anymore. Dont come here if youre looking for a deal though, the prices are fair I guess but Im not the type of person who buys $700 sneakers or $180 t shirts. I do like seeing unique designer pieces up close though, so if you wanna check it out the staff is nice and not snooty.

This place is terrible! They priced my shoes extremely low, so i asked for them to be returned. Two weeks went by and I never heard from anyone- I found out they were sold and whoever bought them ruined them. They offered to give me cash which is BS because it wasn’t anywhere near worth my item. So now I lost my shoes and am out of money. They never apologized, I guess they thought a store credit would make me feel better. I never want to sell or shop with them again it’s too big of a risk

Absolutely ridiculous. They took brand new shoes that cost over $600 and sold them for $50 where I got $12. You dont get any say what they will price them for and when you see it and try to get a hold of them to take it down, you cant. Dont use them for any reason, go to one of the sale sites that you control the price. Never ever again will I sell with The Real Real

Worst experience ever. Sets expectations that it does not follow through with. I ordered what was described as “excellent” condition but they were clearly worn and damaged when they arrived. No communication between the store and the customer service dept. I’d recommend shopping elsewhere that you can TRUST.

My very first consignment with therealreal has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.They have your items shipped to them for free and begin processing rather quickly but when I decided I was not going to consign two of my items because they priced them too low and asked for them to be returned, the nightmare began.First they said it would probably take about two weeks but could take up to 30 days. Then two weeks later. They said it takes a 30 days but they would expedite the return on my behalf. Three times I was promised a call back which never happened. Their customer service is horrendous, they keep you on hold forever and when you finally get someone, all you get are lies and false promises to get you off the phone or chat.It has now been 30 days since I requested this return and still there is no tracking number or sign that my items have been returned. just false promises stating they are processing the return.I really wanted to avoid leaving a negative review and hoped this experience would have worked out differently.I certainly will not be consigning with them in the future!

I’ve been a customer since 2014 (seller + buyer) but no more.... There was a total lack of care + attention to my most recent (very high end) consigned items so I requested all of them returned. Waaaayy too many issues with them to list here and for the money they’re making off of you— zero apologies or culpability on their part and it’s really a shame, I used to adore this company.

DO NOT CONSIGN WITH THEM. I was really sad because I really liked this company and have shopped multiple times with them. Finally I decided to consign with them and one of their consignors Marissa Speer came to my house to assist me.At first everything was really nice and easy until a majority of my items were declined. They claimed one of my authentic brand new Balenciaga sunglasses were fake and then at first wouldnt send them back until I emailed and called frantically, which them I received a response of “it was an accident”.Then I received my Marc Jacobs hoodie back as it said it was declined because of discoloration, but it turns out it was RUINED BY THEIR PROCESS so they sent it back to me 100% ruined and didn’t say anything.*update: after letting them know they ruined my hoodie they gave me a $50 credit which is nice but they didn’t even tell me about it also the hoodie was $300 before tax. For such a large company that takes a huge percent and ruined my stuff $50 credit seems like a slap in the face, but I guess it’s somethingDO NOT CONSIGN WITH THEM AT ALL.

I work for a celebrity and they are hounding me for her address it encroachment - i suggest just bringing items in do not fill anything online - they want your address to make a price assessment based on where you which is kind of a game and a scam of what they all do- but it’s immorally wrong

Tried to call the store for over a hour to double check on closing time since 8pm what was posted, got no answer went to the store the didn’t want to help since they said the store closes at 7 ask to speak to the manager and she refused to come out got her name- Melissa, the service was horrible, I don’t recommend to anyone, you can go elsewhere and get better service.

I’ve been purchasing off the realreal for years with no issues, but over a month ago I returned via mail an item that didn’t fit, and I am still waiting for a refund. I was notified the item arrived at the warehouse a month ago, I have emailed customer service over and over again, only to be told someone will be in touch and they have NEVER got in touch. I don’t have the money or the item so essentially at this point the realreal have stolen my money.

My experience at The Real has always been a good one. Prices can be a bit high, but the quality of the merchandise as well as the staff makes up for it!

Scammers. Their website gives you the option to shop in Canadian currency but then they charge your PayPal account in the wrong currency! (USD) This resulted in me paying a lot more than I anticipated, and despite numerous emails regarding their falsely advertised prices, nobody has rectified the situation for me. They should’ve refunded me the difference RIGHT AWAY. I have since tested the website on different browsers and I know for a fact I selected Canadian currency when shopping. I am appalled that a company as large as this, wouldn’t have it together when it comes to their e-commerce. I though I was shopping in Canadian funds, the receipt they sent me did not say “USD” either, and then they went and charged me more money on my PayPal account (due to the currency difference, the same price in USD is a lot more in CAD). On top of that, I had to pay duty and taxes on the HIGHER amount. To date, nobody has rectified this for me. I simply received an email saying they are looking into it and that was it. No further replies to my emails. BUYER BEWARE! Never shopping here again and will report them for false advertising

VIP treatment. An exclusive look at the inventory as our personal assistant searched the store inventory for items. He also brought out verious items to handle and search his online inventory that was at a local off-site building. Our assistant was very patient while answering all questions with every detail possible. Very good customer service.

Read this review if they lost an item of yours and message me. What can I say. The 2 out of 5 star average The RealReal has on Yelp is fitting. Some months ago we started consigning merchandise that we no longer needed or used. From the very beginning it was obvious that The RealReal does not in fact hire what they claim to be expert authenticators. For example, we sent them a brand new pair of limited edition Miu Miu shoes that were only released in the European market, thus making it an extremely rare pair of shoes in the US. One morning I woke up and saw that they had listed the shoes for $75.00. It was honestly laughable - I emailed them and told them that these were bought on sale for over $600 and part of the runway collection and they brought up the price to $395.00. Guess what? It sold in a matter of a couple days. In other instances I gave them expensive antique jewelry and they turned it down saying that they had scuffs or looked worn. Well, hello? There is a reason its called antique. Its funny because Ive seen jewelry with missing stones on their website. Consigning with The RealReal is a complete hit or miss. Totally depends on your luck. Its like spinning the wheel on the Wheel of Fortune.If you are consigning items and you feel that your items are priced too low, your feeling is probably accurate. You should reach out and demand a higher selling price. Again, nobody knows what qualifications any of these experts have. We dont know who they are, what kind of training or education they have. Turnover is high at The RealReal and most of these people are hired and given quotas that they need to meet. Its all about bringing in as much merchandise and turning it over as quickly as they possibly can. Thats all that matters to The RealReal.Most disturbingly, however, is the fact that they lost a vintage Gucci watch that I gave to them. So they returned several of my items to me via UPS in a box back in October. When the box arrived I didnt open it, because I figured that everything was included and so I put the box in storage until one day my mom asked me for one of the items in the box. When I opened it to retrieve what my mom wanted I noticed that they had sent me the Gucci watch case, but that there was no watch inside. I immediately phoned The RealReal Consignor relations and advised them and some operator told me he would have someone follow up. A week passed and I heard nothing so I followed up again and sent an email. Again, we heard nothing. I finally called Todd Suko, The RealReals general counsel and left him a voicemail. Within minutes I got a call from one of their in-house attorneys. I explained the situation to her she said she would follow up. After several days, I reverted back with her and she said they were reviewing video surveillance, UPS records and other things. I figured Id give her a couple more days.It slowly became obvious that this situation wasnt going to be resolved. She became less responsive as time went on and their excuses became more redundant. She kept asking me rhetorical questions. I finally had enough and told them I would sue - and I did. I sued them in small claims court. Im currently dealing with one of their outside attorneys. I have an upcoming court date. I encourage anyone who has been wronged by The RealReal to exhaust your legal options. If we dont stand up to these corporations, they will continue to do to others as theyve done to us.

The RealReal is the absolute WORST. I ordered a Louis Vuitton bag from them, and 2-3 days later my order had not changed status from “ordered” to even “processing,” let alone “shipped.” So I emailed them to inquire about my order and they gave me the runaround and a million excuses as to why my bag had not been shipped (meanwhile, they had of course deducted the money out of my account). So THEN the next day I called the customer service line and was told that someone should have alerted me that the bag I had ordered couldn’t actually be located in their “warehouse.” This was 4-5 days after my order was placed and after they had accepted my payment for a bag that they apparently didn’t actually have. Then the guy said “for some reason it’s letting me issue you a refund, you’re lucky! Most of the time after 24 hours the system won’t let us cancel orders and issue refunds.” Lucky?! Lucky that they were refunding me for a bag that didn’t even exist?!?After another several days, the refund was finally processed. The RealReal had also issued me a $50 credit so against my better judgment; I ordered a dress and a top using the credit and guess what?! The top has been shipped but the dress mysteriously seems to have once again vanished into the portals of their warehouse. And once again I can’t get anyone to tell me when or if i can expect to receive my order. I am sorry I gave them a second chance, even if it was just to use a credit. They are AWFUL and apparently don’t even have possession of the items they are selling and taking money for on their website. The RealReal is the FAKE-FAKE. Steer clear!!!

I love this place. I’ve been a TRR online shopper for a few years now. I like the option of buying online and having the item shipped to the store, or seeing the item in person before purchasing if it’s located in the Melrose store. The customer service is great. And everything is safely authentic and curated. I’m just a little bummed I can’t get coffee and water here while I shop - I heard they got rid of the cafe.

I have been trying for two days now to reach someone at the Melrose store. No one is answering the phone; it was suggested by my stylist to call 1st before going bc it would be a drive for me. I am on a time crunch, I dont want to be late on my returns. I also called customer service 888# they were not helpful at all. They were rude, they put me on hold to find (?) The Melrose # and they hung up on me.

David was super knowledgeable and explained the process he would use to combine them in detail and in a way I understood clearly. All the other staff are super pleasant and treated me very courteously. Picked up my ring tonight and I am very happy with it. The detail is seamless from the antique center ring fitted into my newer ring. Its hard to see from a photo but it is just beautiful in person. Has so much sentimental value for me.

The account managers have all been really nice and helpful.They have their own parking and they validate!Id definitely recommend the RealReal as a place to sell your designer goods. I used to sell my old bags on eBay, but I never made as much in return.

Employees of this store systematically remove reserved items from online customers cards so they can sell these items to their in store customers and earn a commission. I contacted TheRealReal customers service multiple times regarding this issue but they failed to resolve it.

An employee of TheRealReal L.A. branch, name Tress (or Trent) consistently removes reserved items from online customers carts (prior 20 min expiration) without their authorization and then proceeds to sell these items to another party.

Amazingly clean and beautiful store! My partner and I got to visit while we were visiting LA! We were new to the concept so the manager Chad welcomed us in with warm arms, offered us cold water and walked us around the store explaining the purpose for all the rooms throughout. All the products were in great condition and very shoppable. While I was there I purchased my first designer bag which I’m in love with! At the end, Chad checked on us and made sure our visit was comfortable and even recommended a place for us to eat after!Great experience over all, and I would 100% recommend checking it out if you’re visiting LA!

A real real rip-off! Everything is not authenticated I had bought something there taking it to a store located in Beverly hills and it was a fine copy and being sold by the real real as an original, not!

The RealReal man section has friendly staff and nicely curated high designer brands (Saint Laurent, Gucci, Dior, etc). It was nevertheless disappointing to find a lot less available items than on your regular second hand store, and the exclusive highest designer brands also means there are almost no items below $200 on the racks (average pricing $300).

The store is very nice. Large windows allow natural light in thus able to see true colors of items. The merchandise is of high quality and there are many pieces that i liked however prices are on the high end.

This store is beautiful and the staff makes the shopping experience so pleasant. They are so friendly and accommodating and incredibly dedicated to getting what you need. Only store in area that’s easy to park in too which definitely helps. Love the store- will definitely be coming back!

Disappointed. Purchased a pair of Amiri jeans that turned out to be a cheap fake. Tags were off by a mile. Additionally, when speaking to customer service they told me that they would re-authenticate the item and then send it back..... what? I dont think ill be back anytime soon.

An amazing addition to the Melrose Avenue Design District and shopping scene. Fine jewelry, watches, luxury apparel and handbags. They have experts on premises that can explain the value and condition of each product. I can even consign my luxury items and to save on new purchases. Plus its all sustainable luxury!

Ive been an online customer of The RealReal for years and their sustainability model has changed the way I shop now I always look to them before ever considering to buy new. Ive also visited both retail stores SoHo & West Hollywood and highly recommend the experience - theres nothing like it anywhere. 6 stars if I could!!

I came to the store trying to check the new store but it was such a negative experience. Trust the other reviews. The people here are very rude. Chad, black hair, around 56, is the worst store manager. He acted very condescending. He smiled disingenuously in front of you and then behind your back, you can hear him clearly talking negatively and made fun of you to the other store associates. He was completely oblivious that I could hear him. When I asked about how much is the show in the window display, he just walked away. Do not shop here. Take your money somewhere else where it is being appreciated.

I love the online store and use their app. Download that!I was on a trip and came here and wanted to see what the store looked like. I came here and was amazed at what they had from designer pieces, shoes, the jewelry. Their watch selection has some nice expensive hublots and pateks. I would definitely buy online during a sale period though as I didnt purchase anything in store because the price.

Felt prejudice towards from a manager, I don’t support this company or brand anymore !!!

Great store and just to let you know there is three underground parking with validation very important to know for this area since parking is so hard to find.

I like their online selections better but i also like being able to touch and feel the items... I just wish there was a way to combine the two🤷🏾‍♀️

Stay away at all costs. This company is full of liars and cons who will scam you in many ways. One is highly undervaluing your items just so you get a lower commission. They also have been caught selling non authentic items.

Terrible service. My orders have been canceled couple of times saying that there was an error in the inventory. When I called first they said it was my credit card and then they gave me a complete different reason. I will contact google adds to report their fake business

I placed an order for a lv Purse, then when I received the purse I was unable to find the code, so I contacted them and informed them of the issue, they had me send it back, yet Im still paying the monthly charge on the purse with no refund...what kind of thievery is this???

I agree with the gentlemans statement that the staff has the tendency to be rude, judgemental and disrespectful. I will not ever enter this store again.

I consigned my thousand dollar Louie Vuitton shoes and they have been up for awhile now, but nobody will answer phone calls or emails. and i have no way of payment set up and no account linked to it. They stole the shoes right out of my hands. DO NOT CONSIGN UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE THOUSANDS

They sold my friend and I a total of 3 fake louboutins! The worst buying experience ever. I’m appalled at their lack of concern for selling me a fake pair of Christian louboutin sneakers. I had this pair for 6 months and after my friend informed me that they sold him 2 fake pairs of louboutins I had to take a second look at mine. Sure enough, they were fake. So I brought them all the way across the country to give them back their fakes and Devin the manager told me that the authentication expert wasn’t in. I said I wanted them to hold them until he came in and they reluctantly finally agreed. Carlos calls me the next day and tells me the good news is they’re 100% authentic. I knew they weren’t so I took them to the louboutin store and they confirmed that they were in fact fake. I had to come back a third time and explain why they were fake and they finally agreed to take them back without an apology or any sort of explanation. This authentication Carlos needs to be fired ASAP and this entire operation needs to be put out of business.

Very over priced gently used name brand merchandise. Some of the stuff you can by brand new at the original store

Absolutely terrible service here at The RealReal! My mom was told by Lulu she would approve the clothing before it was sold, but never got a chance and was misled. On Monday, July 22 Lulu was came to pick up her things, and said it would take a week to send the stuff to San Francisco. The following Monday, July 29, my mom asked to get her 2 suits back, before anythying was even posted, and was told the bottoms were already sold - without her approval. She never saw them posted, then all of a sudden, just saw the tops to the suits posted online. My mom tried calling multiple times, and Lulu never picked up the phone, only sent some texts about checking with the wearhouse, after which my mom never heard from her again. Basically this company stole her bottoms from the suits, and never answered any calls.We would never recommend this company, they are theives and take advantage of their customers!

Horrible service!!!!!!!!! never waste your time with this unprofessional people!!!Nobody does his/het job well, nobody is helpful, they just kept transferibg my call, and nobody assisted me !!!!! then they promised to give a call back, but it has been 10 days, no one did !!!In short!!! I wish I could give them 0 star!

This place is like Disneyland for me! Theres also a Cafe inside the store.... cause you know, you cant be hangry when youre tryin to shop!

Its an over priced, high-end second hand store in the Beverly hills area. Theyre selling second hand/used branded items. So remember, youre still buying a hand-me-down, used item. The location is premium so expect the price tag to be premium too. Premium price = second hand item... but its authentic, real-deal! Do your reseach and chose well if you want it used or new... 😊

So exciting this place is getting a location in LA! Best place to find quality consignment that is authentic!
