This is my favorite game store in the valley. Good vibe, good selection, great staff. Recently my wife went to get some packs for a birthday draft for me, and found the set I wanted was a bit out of budget and stock. The staff member helped curate a chaos draft format instead that ended up being hysterically awesome and provided some promos and prize support as part of the package deal. So cool! Thanks for a great drafting experience!

I have spent hundreds of dollars here, all to Be scammed. One day I come in and buy a elite trainer box of Pokémon cards, it was $70 and the short man at the register, with brown hair and a fade cut seemed weird about it and the price was hi.But I paid, the next day a different guy behind the register, tall blonde guy, he sells me the same box for $55 !!!!When I asked why he just shook his head and said the price fluctuate, not $15 in 24 hr mo price fluctuations like that unless it’s in a stock market. I was ripped off not just once, this happened several times! Beware of all the fake reviews of people that play cards with employees that work here. They leave a good review for there card playing buddy’s. I have been straight ignored while they talk about magic cards for it least 20min I had to say something to get serviced. Don’t waste your time gettin ripped off google other local card shops, near you other then game haven. I can even recommend some. Demolition, is a great one, there are literally plenty of others with fair prices and honest employees!

I spent a lot of money here, I mean a lot. I collect and play both magic and Pokémon. But today I spent $180 and wasn’t give my change, I paid cash and gave them $200. When I called to talk to them about it. I was treated very rudely to. And talked over by the employee I was talking to. It was unnecessary. I was simply explaining the situation but he interrupted me and kept saying he couldn’t check until they closed. I understand that. I’m just trying to communicate and get my change. This being said. I will drive a lil farther to go to a different game store now. Oasis is good so is overtime. Even the game haven in sandy has a much nicer staff. I’m definitely upset and feel offendedUPDATE-6-22-2021it’s been 6 days now, I emailed the the contact in the reply that they gave to this review, still no answer, so not only do I not have my change. Now I have to be vigilant to get it back. This is sad.. I really liked this place but the lack of work ethic is not ok. Also keeping money that isn’t yours, as a business. Is very petty. I hope they contact me to give meet my change. Just drive to the sandy location or go to a different card shop. They act like helping a customer isn’t there job, and it upsets them to do so..

Card traders beware. I sold cards to this location to an employee (will not name here), signed the PayPal contract, and even gave some other cards they wouldn’t buy to that same employee so they could be used as awards for their tournaments. I was told that the money would be deposited later that day and to my surprise it was never deposited into my PayPal account. Went back in a few weeks later and they don’t even have a record of me selling cards or a copy of the contract I signed. Options are 1) Genuine business oops or 2) Shady employee taking advantage of someone. Either way I am out $$$ and can’t help but think other customers are getting taken advantage of too.

I called this Game Haven location trying to find pokemon cards. Before I could even speak the associate said Thanks for calling Game Haven we are out of pokemon cards how may i help you It comes off as rude and dismissive rather than letting the customer speak. I understand the demand is high and supply may be low, but at least be courteous and mannered when representing your business and fostering a positive experience rather than being dismissive over the phone.

Oh my gosh! Where do I even start!!! I was on the hunt for Pokémon cards for my soon to be 12 year old sons birthday. I had looked at all the big box stores and couldn’t find anything. I happened to be in the dollar store next to Game Haven and walked in to their store 3 minutes before closing. KASEY and his crew were incredible!!! They could have easily told me they were closed and rushed me out. Instead they started digging through their personal decks and between maybe the six of them gave me the most incredible gift to give my son. A big stack of their cards!!! I was about in tears. The community, love and kindness from Kasey and his crew was indescribable. They took their time to help an old mom out. I will 100% be returning with my son tomorrow to buy more and with all my kids for all our future game needs. Maybe sounds a little extreme but I’d give 100 stars if I could. Asked about holding 2 items for me and paying in advance. Told me its okay, no problem, we will hold them for you while you make the long drive to get here. Ill make sure I note it.Same guy that told me that then blames some random employee (no other employee is there) for why they were gone (I watched him sell the last to a person before me).This is probably the 10th time some goofy stuff has happened here where they just blame blame blame some invisible force for their own mistake.I finally give up, its clear this place just likes a dollar. I support my LGS because they are exactly the opposite of Amazon - they generally create fun environments that I enjoy supporting and its not all just to make a quick buck. Other card shops locally are not only accountable but actually enjoy you going and feel like a community.At least on Amazon I get the product I pay for.

Hands down the best card shop Ive been too. Biggest reason is for the employees (jackson and Casey). Jackson answered all my questions. Showed me great ways to improve and upgreat my MTG decks. Thank you guys so much for the help! Extremely friendly and kind.

I am truly impressed by Game Haven! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they had an amazing selection of games. They have really managed this COVID crisis. They made me feel safe while staying open which says a lot during this time. The store is beautiful. It’s clean and they’ve invested a lot in new floors and tables. You can tell they care about your shopping and gaming experience. I was able to find some new release board games for way cheaper than even Amazon let alone other local stores. I would shop here first any time I have a need for Board Games!! And they have 3 stores in the valley so if they don’t have it here they’ll check their other stores. I’ll definitely be back again and again. Stop by and check it. You’ll be glad you did.

Had to wait at the counter for a good 10 minutes while the person working the register was trying to make a trade of his personal MTG cards. Meanwhile the other employee was watching us stand there and not offering to help with our purchase. Not impressed by the service.

Last time I was at this store I was going to purchase some pokemon singles. When they took the cards to the front for me to pay he handed the cards off to someone else. I guess he noticed somthing was up, but rather than honering their mistake he tried changing the price while I am getting what I assumed was the correct amount out. Seeing as it is a single they must have underpaid the person they bought it from which does not seem fair to me or the original owner. I did not end up getting the card which is very frustrating aswell. Its not even like he had to look up all of the cards because he said the other one was the right price without even checking.

Im new to the game magic snd i was a dollar short on my purchase then as i was gonna take a card out he went into his own wallet a grabed a dollar for me they are so nice at that store im planning on going there every friday to play as well

People are great that work here. I have been coming every few days to pick up mtg packs and I really appreciate that theyre open through the quarantine.

Wow this store is amazing, I came in not sure what to expect but hoping they carried some board games me and my family love, the assistant manager Rob was super helpful he was able to help me remember the name of a game I had played with some friends and they had it! Then he had some other suggestions for games that my nephews might like based on games I’d seen them play before For Christmas gifts. Was one of the best customer service experiences I have had in retail I would recommend this store to anyone! One of the things that also stood out was their demo games they let you try a game before you buy it for free or you can even rent it for the night and then they give you the rental fee off your purchase price if you want to buy it.

I love this place. I bought my first game in May 2018 with Munchkin. I love that my small family can come and game in the back with the games weve got there or try and rent the demo games. The refreshments at the front are reasonably prices and we might not buy games or cards every week were there, we do buy snacks and drink.Our gaming time is one of my favorite family things to and being able to sit and game away from the distractions of home makes it so much better.

Im clueless when it comes to Magic cards. My son is turning 12 tomorrow and he wanted to get some new cards for his birthday. Hes still pretty new at the game. Collin spent about an hour building a good deck with him and teaching him more about the game. Awesome service! You made his night, Collin!!! Thank you!

Listed Ikoria cards on their Crystal Commerce for sale. When I went to go buy some the employee there told me they were in a box and not organized so they were not selling them right now... Please dont list things if youre NOT going to sell them. Makes no sense.

Best staff ever! Even though it was closing time they made me feel like I mattered and that I was important. They never rushed me and treated me very fairly. My only complaint is that pricing needs work. Ill be back.

Smaller game shop, but they still have a wide variety of games. Some minis, some comics. Staff is nice and helpful. They have a point system set up so you get a discount after so many purchases, well after 250 bucks, I believe it is. Which is really nice.

As a MTG store its alright. As a tabletop game store? Not so much. The selection of games is alright but their prices are all the suggested retail market value. Its tough to recommend this store when Demolition Games has a better selection, offers many games at close to or even matching Amazon prices.All of that said, the staff is friendly and the store is pretty clean.

If you’re into just Magic this place is great. If you’re there for anything else especially help about products, unless it’s Magic don’t bother. Head to the Game Haven in Sandy.

I have visited this store before, but just casually to check it out. I had not previously interacted with any of the staff until yesterday. I decided to give it a shot this time(12/13/16) and spoke to a very lovely woman going by the name of J. She was a delight and helped me get a much better grip on MTG, even though it wasnt her strongest game experience. Just for her alone I would come back, but the store is also excellent and well-stocked. Good job on the hiring and for making the environment so welcoming!

The community is great and everyone is pretty friendly. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They hold regular events and offer both paid and unpaid options for their Friday Night Magic. Would highly recommend.

My favorite place in the whole world

Bought several D&D things but it took us a hot minute to get checked out even though we both had our hands full of over $70 worth of things. The guy just stood in front then finally checked us out. I feel like the guys who work here are awkward towards but the brown haired girl is super helpful and educated.

Prices are too high, that’s the bottom line. They match MSRP, which is fine for games that are hard to find or out of print. But why would I pay MSRP when other game stores in the area are marked down 10-20% below that price? I’ll go there.

Game haven staff are always friendly and helpful. They know about the games they sell and are willing to guide you to find the right choice for what youre looking for. They will buy cards and pay out cash (up to a certain value) and give unlimited in store credit if your cards exceed that value. They have a great selection of all the major card games and regularly host game nights with a lot of attendees. They sell dice, board games, role playing books, cards, soda, some gaming related clothing accessories and have a bathroom for patrons. Ive been more than a dozen times in the last year.

They have a good variety of things in this store. There are board games, figurines that you paint, games you can play while youre there. The employee was helpful and pleasant when I had questions. I will go back to this store.

I love Game Haven I have been to the one in bountiful a few times and I was instantly excepted in the the magic group. This is a wonderful place for any one to just come and play games. They have game nights witch I love to go to. I love going to Game Haven whenever I have time to waste.

Game Haven West Jordan is a nice local game shop to have next to your house for Friday Night Magic or Pokemon but there selection isnt as good as there Sandy location.The Sandy game Haven is super nice. Its really clean, has a big selection of tabletop, comics/graphic novels, Miamis, MTG, and more. They also have a little snackshop in store. The Sandy location would probably be the best comic shop Ive ever seen to have your game nights at.Either shop offers a reward point structure. This can be a good thing in till you add up how many times youve earned your rewards and factor in how much money you had to spend to get those rewards. Then factor the fact that its not even a quarter of the money you spend on this stuff. That can be pretty depressing, but it feels really good still spending $25.00 free dollars on something cool.Thank you Game Haven, I just moved but you were my local LGS for 3 1/2 years.

Asked an employee how much an unstickered game was. After ringing me up, and sliding my card, I was told that he had quoted (and charged!) me their cost, and that if I wanted the items (that Id already paid for, mind) Id have to pay nearly double or simply take a refund. Im all for paying your asking price, but quoting and charging me incorrectly is highly unprofessional.

All the employees ever do is sit on the two computers they have there. What could they possibly be doing? Why dont they interact with customers or sort cards or straighten the shop? This isnt a one time occurrence. Seems to be that way everytime.

I loved this Game Haven store. It was so much more friendly and caring than the one back in Saint George. The people here were wonderful and considerate.

This is a fun games shop. Board games, card games, trading card games, role play games, models and comic books galore. Prices are a little higher but not bad and the staff are always helpful and friendly.

I have been here multiple times and everytime except once we were ignored by staff for over 20 minutes while they talked about pulls and the decks they had made. I have only met one person from the staff here that has helped us look for the cards we came in for. Other then that any other time they always say look in the box of awesome even though they have other boxes with cards in them behind the counter. If you are looking for specific cards and its not in the display case good luck finding it or getting help to find the box it might be in.

Mostly clean, good selection of games. Sometimes it takes a while for products to be restocked. Also, prices seem higher for trading card games than other stores.

Terrible experiece here. Drove an hr to get here after calling and confirming prices on discount stickers marked on the games. The manager called his brother the owner and they removed the discounts while talking on the phone right in front of me on the phone. Despite confirming the discount before I left, they then wouldn’t honor the discounts. Terrible horrible customer service and worst game store in salt lake area. No true gamer or game enthusiast should ever set foot in this store. Go to demolition games or game night games.

Oh man!!! What an incredible place. Pricy but quality of games is outstanding! I found a few things I want to go back for in the near future. They have tournaments in house and offer a variety of products that speak to all ages. Go check it out!Thanks for giving a mom a cool place to find stuff for my picky teenagers! This is an interesting store. The service is outstanding, plenty of help, willing to go the extra mile. They offer great gaming opportunities. They do have some issues with their inventory of comics and heroclix items which for me, effects their over all quality. In spite of that specific issue you cant help but love the energy and appeal that Game Haven has when you walk into it. Its that energy that keeps me coming back week in and week out.

We are really sad to give a review like this but we came in to the Sandy store and bought all their 4th edition mtg packs at $15 a piece. Great deal and great customer service. We spent over $200. We then went to the West Jordan store and attempted to buy a box of scars of Mirrodin. The box was marked as $11 a pack. This is an opened box but had 36 packs in it. The employee confirmed the price to us. We asked for all the packs. After ringing the packs up. Almost an entire box worth... over three hundred dollars. I then asked to purchase an unopened box of 4th edition. A purchase of over 1k. The clerk proceeded to change the pack price to $15 a pack, then took the sticker of the box and changed it. He then said it’s actually $15 a pack. I asked him to speak with his manager and he said he would email him and text him to have him call me. 5 days later nothing. I’ve been in three days this week and keep getting blown off. I went ahead and bought the 4th edition but I am not happy. I don’t like tags being yanked and prices changes mid purchase. Mistakes is one thing but that box with that tag has been there for a while. Advertising a price on the box and verbally confirming it should have been upheld. I’ve spoken to my group and friends/family. The lack of follow up and the actual price change has shocked them.

This store is good for MTG, staff are friendly, it doesnt carry Games Workshop items outside of their boxed games, and has a diverse selection of board games that are generally MSRP. Sometimes things are mislabeled, so check with the front if you think youve found something that is marked down. There is also a library for playing games. Ive found that they are almost always out of stock of non standard card sleeves (board game sizes) and generally dont have boardgames early/around release time.

My wife and I dont look like the typical gaming type, so when we came in here to buy some dice and see what came out recently. The only staff member in here was very prickly and stand-offish. There was a group of friends that came in that were no trouble.

Horrible customer service. Walked in to sell some cards and employee had no knowledge of what we were asking, once we explained what we were doing, he said the manager had to pay out. We spoke to the Manager on duty who said he would complete it and then proceeded to completely ignore us for 30-45 mins, while we stood at the counter waiting and also watched him take videos of customers opening packs and making small talk the entire time we were standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, did not acknowledge us at all. We are from out of town and the only time the manager finally said a word to us again was when we were leaving. This place was disrespectful and is not worth your time because they won’t speak to you or help you unless they know. Would give this place ZERO stars if I could.

The guy at the counter was very rude and treated me like I was brainless. He even lied to me about cards I wanted to deal with. I will never go back to that shop. I will tell all of my friends not to go in on Sunday afternoon.

I love Game Haven in West Jordan. All the Game Havens Ive been to have been great. I go to this location regularly and let me tell you, the staff is phenomenal. If you visit more than just a few times, the staff will remember your name and your preferences for games and products. This makes for a very welcoming experience. All the board games are able to be played in-house, and if you play a game there, enjoy it and want to purchase it, mention that to the staff and theyll give you 10% off the purchase! If youre looking for a place to play a competitive TCG, like Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh, you will be happy to hear that each location has a standard set for personal hygiene, which makes for a better environment. Nobody enjoys dealing with other peoples odors. All in all, Game Haven is where its at. Other game shops dont even come close.

This place seems to have a healthy card game community, but Im interested in tabletop RPGs, and there doesnt seem to be any events or anything really to target that group.

Cool place and all for comics,cards, board games and playing there as well the reason Im giving one star was i had them go through a binder i had of Pokémon Cards that i had since i was a kid about a week or 2 ago they did go through it pretty quickly got back to me in a bout a day or 2 and i understand the whole concept of these types of places that buy and sell but i felt so much disrespect when they told me they would only give me 5 dollars for everything!!!! even with holofoils and some other rare cards and almost all of em were from the original TCG when it barely came out back in the 90s its like they priced each card at a penny or 2 each dont go here if you wanna sell your collection would be my advice
