We went here to try to repair a friends laptop. The person did a quick diagnosis and gave his quote. They let you keep your device there and decode if you want to go ahead with the repair as well which is good. They can get parts and do the repair relatively quickly. However, they dont give receipts which seemed a little sketchy. Although apparently there is a good reason for it (I dont know what that is)

Would not recommend anyone! These guys are procrastinators and charge you a fee ($45), although did not manage to fix anything. I had some problems with Windows (did not boot) after installing updates. Went there hoping they can help. During the week, Ive checked several time on the progress of repair, each time they promised to call back, but did not. Finally, I went there and they told me that they were not able to fix anything (I doubt if they tried at all, hope they did). Then I decided to take back my laptop and to my entire surprise theyve asked for a $45 fee (a minimum fee for diagnostics). That is the first time Ive faced such a kind of fee, when noting was fixed. Really upsetting experience.

TL;DR: Left my laptop here for two and a half months, and they gave it back in less working order than when I dropped it off. They dont call you about anything, you have to call them. Do not take anything here.I gave them my laptop for a screen issue - it was just flickering incessantly and generally not working properly. They said theyve seen the issue before and they would fix it. When taking apart my laptop, they also noticed that the power jack had a short, and that was potentially what was causing my issue. Thats great, let them do their thing. Then I call back a week later, asking how its going. They mention that the new power jack made it such that the laptop does not even turn on now. Thats upsetting, but I again let them keep working. What a mistake that was. Finally got a verdict on my laptop, they determined the motherboard was fried. Note that I turned my laptop in for a screen issue, and they said that after installing their power jack, it was nonfunctional. This was purely their fault. On top of that, they wanted me to pay $350 to pay for a fix, plus an additional $90 labor.By that point it had been two and a half months. I left my laptop with them for that amount of time, never hearing anything from them unless I specifically contacted them. Even when they said Yeah, well give you a call on Monday, they never called. Not once. Obviously after getting fed up, I just had them put my laptop back together and give it to me. That was the one thing they managed to do correctly in two and a half months.Again, dont give this place any business. Theyre highly unprofessional and probably will break things more than they fix them. If zero stars was an option, Id give it.

Bad experience! My Mac went on a black screen issue and was fixed there, the first time I came there spending $45 for consultation, nothing fixed! Asking me to pay more $630.23 (plus tax) to order a new retina LCD screen to replace the old one. After waiting for a whole week, they didnt inform me that the new LCD had arrived until I call them on the Monday of the following week. The most weird thing is that they ordered a space-grey color LCD but my original one is silver color. The new assembling Mac looks really weird! At the end, they just try to charge me another $45 service fee for installation. After I told them Ive paid that fee when I visited them in the first time, they cancelled that fee. Yes, they fix the problem, but I think they are not doing well and carefully. Well, maybe not perfect to make me feel good

I have shopped with Computers by Campus since my freshman year at Purdue University and have been constantly delighted by their professionalism, expertise, excellent price points, and great customer service. The shops staff are extremely great and I have never had a problem with them since August 2003. In fact, I still shop with them today regardless of where I am currently living in the U.S.

Highly recommend you go else where. If ever I need a laptop repair again I would drive 1,000,000 miles before returning to this hole in the wall shop. They are completely unprofessional and unorganized. Not only did I have to call and inquire about the status of my lap top, these people fixed and changed things on my laptop without my consent. They also lied about when the repair would be completed. I can understand things taking longer than expected, but it would have been nice to be updated on the status of the repair. And when I called, I repeat, I called to check on my lap top and found out exactly what was going I expressed my displeasure and the owner had the nerve to tell me I was unappreciative. Excuse me, my appreciation will be shown when I pay the $200 for the repair. This is your job not a favor. Very unprofessional. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! It is not worth the headache.

I have a cheaper Chromebook, it is light weight and simple to use for school. My Chromebook was not turning on so I searched on YouTube and discovered that I needed to unplug the battery connection from the motherboard. The Chromebook started working again until the hinges on the side fell off because of a loose screw. I went into their shop and it took them maybe 30 seconds to attach the hinge back into place. I did all the labor of finding a new screw and putting the screw back into the correct place. He still charged me $22.50 when the work took 30 seconds and I did most of the work. I thought it was a little unreasonable and instead of prioritizing my computer, the owner just told me to throw the Chromebook away and buy one of their used laptop for $150. Not overly satisfied with their work but I am glad it is working again.

My experience with this company goes back a number of years. I have done several computer rebuilds through them, as well as repeated upgrades. I have always found their work to be of high quality and very affordable. Turnaround has always been reasonable, usually within a couple of days. The staff is friendly, informative, and helpful. I highly recommend this business.

Staffs are really friendly and responsive to calls. And they make sure they call you with updates with certain progress if you ask staffs to do so. They are very knowledgeable and you can give them your computer trusting them will do the best its possibly can be done to fix your computer. The earlier you bring them your computer the better chance you will have though.I dropped my computer and damaged my hard drive. After several days my computer refuse to boot up and I hand my computer to them the next day. They saved all my data back and reinstalled my windows on my computer.

*VERY DISPLEASED* I sent my laptop in to Computers by Campus when the screen turned on. After a week and a half I called them on the status and they told me it was an operation system issue and they were getting to work on it. After 2 weeks I called them back (upset with no update) and they told me there was an issue and the hard drive no longer worked. ALL MY DATA WAS LOST. After waiting and waiting to see if they could undo their mistake, I waited over a month and FINALLY called them about it. Turned out they forgot about my laptop! My laptop spent 2 and half months with them, and I finally got it back with a corrupted hard drive. I was out my laptop my entire fall semester at Purdue! Horrible experience!

So just as a disclaimer the people who worked there were incredibly nice/smart/honest with the best prices in town, however they misdiagnosed the problem with my computer and 65 dollars later I realized my computer not charging was simply because the charger was broken and not because the charger port on my computer had to be replaced. As computer professionals they should have checked that out first before mailing in/replacing my charger port when in actuality it was fine and my charger itself was faulty. They even went as far as saying it was a mother board problem perhaps....So while they were knowledgeable I recommend going to several places to diagnose your computer problem before going there to fix it as they might misdiagnose the problem.PS now my computer makes this funny little noise...

Laptop, fairly new. Internal cable connecting display and main board. The guy was prompt in diagnosing my problem, had to order a replacement cable from China. Unfortunately shipping took about 4 weeks. Was helpful in offering my back my non-monitor computer for external display use, even offering his own laptop. However, he was not prompt in letting me know when the cable arrived. Now heres the kicker. Once receiving the replacement part, the technician installed it and called me noting that the screen was cracked. After telling him I did not turn it into the shop in those conditions, he realized that it was the fault of the shop for cracking my screen. The store covered the additional repair and replacement screen, and I waited another 2 weeks for a functional laptop. He was understanding and owned up to his mistake, taking the full cost of the additional repair. However, this malpractice can not be ignored. All in all, 2 months without a laptop and $100 later (reasonable) I finally had a working laptop again. This store is fairly disorganized and more equipped to fix the desktop computers of 10 years ago than the slim laptops of today. Would recommend going elsewhere.

They did a good job of finding what the problem was, but they never contacted me on when it was ready. I constantly had to stop in to find out if there were any updates. They said they would call me when it was ready but never did. If I hadnt stopped by to pick it up it would have just sat there.UPDATE: Took my laptop to the apple store to sell, and they did a check up before quoting me and they were able to find the exact problem in about 20 minutes free of charge (it took these guys 2 weeks). In addition, the problem that the apple store identified was completely different from what this store did, and they were able to prove that was the problem.TLDR, if you have a mac, do not come anywhere near this store ever. If you have a PC, go to every other store first.

Took my Mac there earlier this year when I dropped it and started having all sorts of problems. Apple quoted me something outrageous and also would have had it for a week if not more. I took it here and they had it done in two days and it cost less than $200 to get my baby up and running again. Thats a steal in my book.Im experiencing a different problem with my mac, and Im running it over there later today since I dont want to take it anywhere else. When you go hell also want your charger fyi.

I went there initially to get the AC plug on my laptop fixed. After being told repairing it could possibly cost more because that area needed delicate tools and a mistake could mess up my laptop, I decided to use my warranty to get my laptop repaired. He then offered to back up my files in case they had to wipe it clean, which was great. I had my files backed up, sent my computer in for repairs, and got my computer back with the hard drive wiped clean, just as I knew would happen. I then take my laptop back to get my things put back into the repaired laptop, and my back up is no where to be found. He lost my back-up. I had my back up made in June, and bought back my computer in July b/c he had went on vacation. I thought it was going to take a couple of days, maybe a week to find. It is now almost September and I still do not have my back-up. He says he is still looking for it, but I doubt it will be found. Im extremely upset. I had hundreds of pictures, hundreds of songs, and many important documents that I will never get back. It cost $45 dollars to get the back-up made, but getting that money back cannot replace all the things I have lost. If I need another back-up in the future, I will be going elsewhere.
