Outstanding food! These folks are the real deal. If you’re getting take out it’s best to call ahead so you can pick up your order at the window, but they don’t mind if you pull up and order at the window. Super friendly. Love this place!
Their Greek fries are the best fries I have ever had. You dont need condiments and their feta cheese is on point. I ordered Greek fries, and a gyro pladder with a side salad. Salad was great as well. Would recommend to others. My next visit I will try their gyro sandwiches. It is very affordable for two people to eat and dine in.
Ordered dinner online on a Saturday. Ordering was quick but they wouldnt take payment over the phone. Used their drive through for pickup. The food was ok, but nothing really stood out. We ordered the Gyro sandwich with greek fries, feta plate, falafel sandwich with green bean side.Verdict: Maybe - if youre really craving greek food.
I got the Hummus started and a gyro platter, total was ~22 dollars. With the hummus, it comes with ONE piece of pita cut into fourths. I thought it was a joke once it arrived. It was a tasty plate of hummus, but portion size was pretty disappointing. Then I waited for my gyro platter, still half my hummus remaining. The platter came, which is about 15 dollars post tax, but portion size was just disappointing. Another single pita, but into fourths, an underwhelming amount of gyro meat, and a small bed of rice..Overall, the food is good-great, but not a place that someone can go to if you’re looking to get filled up for a decent price.
So glad I detoured to this gem. Real food not fast food. I was so excited to see Pastitio on the menu, its one of my favorite dishes. Theirs tasted as good as I remembered from my first taste twenty years ago! Please support this family owned business and treat yourself to some great food.
Had such a great experience here. The food is very good and it is only outdone by the service. The older gentleman running the place is worth the trip. Would recommend.
Very nice place. Not busy at all.
There arent many choices in Greek restaurants in the Lafayette area, but Parthenon is a decent one. Its a very nice, large, clean place and the food is on par with what youd get at many larger and chain places. The gyros are solid. Theyre not as pumped full of flavor as youd get at a hole-in-the-wall shave-that-meat-right-in-front-of-you authentic Greek restaurant, but they are hearty and fresh.I wasnt a fan of the Grilled Pork Kebab. The meat was sort of tough and not very flavorful.I recommend avoiding the chicken tenders here. I had them once and they are the chicken-nugget mush stuff and overcooked. This is one of the few places that lists their drink prices upfront. More restaurants need this kind of transparency.
Exactly what you’d expect with some pretty solid gyros, good Greek fries, and a clean/ well decorated interior. Good work!
Wonderful gyros, rarely have anything else as I love the gyros so much:-)
This is without doubt the best place to get a gyro in West Lafayette! My order was prepared on time and exactly as ordered. Curbside service employee was very friendly and properly wore a mask. Gyro was absolutely delicious!!
This is a little gem tucked along a busy road. Slow down and stop for the best greek food you will find in Tippecanoe County! Everything is made in house and is full of flavor. You can taste the love spent making each dish in every bite! Family owned since 1980! Support this beautiful family and their business while enjoying amazing food.
Good value, great food, salads are always fresh, french fries are delicious. Ask about the special desserts. I think this is a great gift card to show appreciation to your kids teacher at Klondike. Go local!
Staff friendly, service and food excellent. Best Greek food in Lafayette/West Lafayette area
Always a fantastic experience, with authentic food and people. Using all world family recipes for generations.
The food was great, friendly service, and I got a shirt! It was an excellent visit.
The original was cooked to perfection. Love the pita instead of a bun.
Not expensive, local, and the taste is great. Can’t wait to try the falafel.
I’ve been coming here since I was very young and remember when they were in the little strip on Chauncey. I love that they’re family owned. I love the quaint atmosphere and the flavors are delicious and authentic and bold. They’ve helped figure out my family’s allergies whenever we meet up so we can all eat something while we’re together. I appreciate the warmth and always leaving my a happy stomach 🥰😄
Went to this place with full of expectations and excitement but it was disappointing. I got Grilled chicken platter and it was under cooked. Totally not worth it...
Definitely going to eating at this place again!! Kind and caring people work here and you can tell they care about the food they are serving to customers. I ordered several items off of the menu and every single thing was delicious! You could tell it was fresh and had great taste. Cant wait to try this place again!
Not a huge fan of greek food but a friend of mine wanted to go. It was good food, nothing to write home about though. Maybe just my taste but I still enjoyed everything we received
The service was super slow, but it might have been just bad timing between lunch and supper rush. Gyro taste like every other gyro, but the pork was amazingly marinates. Lentil soup was good.
So this is the third review Ive given in my entire life, but its necessary. The gyro platter is about 15 bucks. It comes with a healthy heap of gyro meat, some onions, TWO TRIANGLES OF PITA, no feta, no tomato, and a small ramekin of sauce. I didnt get the rice, but they smashed my soup so it was also a loss. The customer service is fine, and they apologized for the spilled soup, but this menu item is really disappointing especially for the price.
Great food spinach rice was all that and more gyro was delicious not oily or over cook just right...burger was season and fresh will return...
Service is attentive by Greek standards, prices are affordable, the ambience is good, and timid eaters will find something American on the menu. I cannot fault the egg-lemon soup, which is notoriously hard to get right, or the tzatziki. Some of the entrees are completely authentic and I would introduce my friends to those dishes but the discerning Greek palate will find them to be a bit pedestrian in execution.
Amazing food. Very quiet place.
We love this place. Our family has been eating here for literally generations. Best house made gyro tower this side of the Agean.
I absolutely adore the owners/staff of Parthenon Greek American Grill. If you are afraid to dine in (because of Covid) simply call in your order or order online, they have a take away window where you can pick it up when it’s ready, pull behind the building.I love so many dishes here, but will highlight my faves: the veggie pita, picture a grilled pita smothered in hummus and topped with a chopped up version of a greek salad along with greek vinaigrette and feta, Greek fries are fries topped with feta and oregano, the gyro is their house made blend of meat topped with onions, tomato and house made tzatziki sauce. This place deserves 6 stars!!!
One of my favorite Greek restaurants Ive been going to for almost 25 years (including the former location on the edge of campus).
Great fast casual Greek.
We love this restaurant! Food is fresh and delcious. Service is simple and good. Ive seen reviews about the cashier... Hes an older man standing on his feet all day so we dont have to cook. I have never experienced him acting rude.Atmosphere here is very relaxing. The only thing Id change is a little more cucumber sauce on the gyros ;)
Good food. Excellent Greek fries. Not as good as Akropolis down the road, but still a nice treat.
Great Greek food!
My mom and I are new to the Lafayette area, and this was one of the first places we tried after moving. The food is delicious and the staff/owners are incredibly kind and helpful! Please support this local business!
I would go here for dinner every day if I could. All the food is really good and I like to support local businesses
Very good authentic Greek food and great service
I really really like this place when we went. Its certainly not fast food but its not a truly served meal. The food is really good and you can get alcohol with your meal. The staff was nice and theres a good selection. Theres also chicken nuggets and french fries if your kid doesnt like Greek. The gyro I had was awesome!
Very good food.Nice service.very clean
Pretty good gyros. Parthenon lacked a star as I didnt feel like it didnt taste as authentic as advertised. Would definitely come back though.
One of our very favorite restaurants with fantastic food. They make their own gyro meat which few places do anymore. Try the Greek Burger or the Athenian Salad. The hummus is great and the pitas are our favorites- not thin and dry. They serve locally brewed Peoples Beer and turned this beet hater into a beer lover. Try the beet salad. We have had many family celebrations, book groups and meetings here. They even catered our wedding! Jimmy and his family are amazing. And dont miss the green beans.
The best restaurant! Absolutely delicious, fresh food; very clean environment and the best hospitality. Loved the entire experience... will be going back soon!
Uhhhh, Google says how was Parthenon grill? Well, it was the shi*, no doubt, fill me up with some feta
Good family owned restaurant serving nice Greek food. Love their gyros. Friendly folks. I go there often either alone or with friends. Recommended.
Stoopid good greek food in the middle of Indiana? Yep, dis da place.
Simple menu of traditional Greek fare. There is counter or drive thru ordering. There are sandwiches or dinner plates, depending on your hunger level. But be sure to eat your pita bread with your hummus sparingly, as any extra bit sets you back $.75 at a time. They also serve Greek and domestic beers and wine if youre in the mood. There are also daily specials and dessert available.
Good gyros and quick service.
The food is terrific!!
Great selection of fresh food. I do wish thy offered table service. Always amazing food.
Delicious, authentic Greek food. Restaurant is family owned and the owner are very nice. The food is always delicious, Ive never had any complaints. The gyros are a must, but they also offer some vegetarian options like the falafel sandwich. Theyve also remodeled the place and it looks great, very cozy atmosphere.
Excellent food. Busy place but worth the wsitm
It does not taste like gyros meat. The homemade tzatziki sauce is thick and odd tasting. The fries were good. The chicken tenders were moist and crispy. The honey mustard sauce was good. Just not the gyros sandwich.
Tzatziki sauce was not good.
First place that I ever had Greek food over 30 years ago. A mainstay in the Purdue area thats been there forever. Great food... dont just try the gyro... branch out and try other things on their menu.
First time eating Greek food. They really took care of us; it was a wonderful experience! The food was fabulous!
This place is sooo tasty. I was just looking up places to eat and happened upon this place. I wish i got my friend’s dish which was a kebab pita because it was SO good but i settled for a falafel pita instead, still very tasty. I wish i could have had spanakopita or baklava but this sandwich fills you up. Greek fries were good too but they’re just fries with seasoning and feta.
This is always the best gyro around.
I love this place; every meal Ive had there has been very good and relatively inexpensive. Staff is courteous as well
What a lovely gem in West Lafayette! I am a big fan of foreign foods and this Greek restaurant is cozy and the food is flavorful. I enjoy their perfectly cut and fried Greek fries, falafel sandwich and baklava (my guilty pleasure-Don’t judge me. ) No seriously you need to try this place.
This is the best! Me and my fiance tried this place just out of curiosity, and we have been blown away. The hummus is simple but incredibly yummy. I get the Gyros, it is juicy and delicious and the Greek fries have terrific seasoning and cheese. The onion rings are crispy and super flavorful. My fiance gets the mousaka and its his new favorite, he also gets the lemon rice soup, its refreshing. If youre looking for some good comfort food head over here, the service is nice and they have a drive thru just in case you want to take it home, which we often do. Ooh! Dont forget to try some baklava!! 10 out of 10 I wish I could eat here all the time!
First time visiting here and first time having Greek food. It was delicious! The owner is very nice and helpful. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try some place new or wanting Greek food. Clean and friendly.
Always delicious. They make their own sauces and gyro meat. My favorite Greek place!
Great food, just a bit pricey for me.
Good food, inexpensive, and good service.
Ok. Portion sizes have gotten smaller since last time I went.
Lamb leg platter and chicken kabab platter are super nice and worth the price. When you order take-out food from them, there is always a layer of aluminum foil in the box, keeping the food warm and avoiding the harm from melted plastic. Appreciate it!
This place is great! The food is authentic and delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the pricing is not bad for what you get! Its not as cheap as fast food, obviously, but the food is well worth the price, especially is you love Greek food like I do!
Everything here is truely made from scratch. The greek yogurt is even cultured in house. The food is decently priced and they have multiple plate and platter options. Two of us at for under $40 with a huge sampler platter (6 large portioned items) a full gyro and two drinks. We had plenty to take home. The service is excellent.
Fabulous chicken lemon rice soup. Cant wait to go back for more.
THE BEST GYRO EVER! I live in Toronto, and I make sure when I am in the Lafayette, Indiana area this our place to eat! Amazing atmosphere, amazing owners and staff...but most of all the food is out of this world. Totally worth the drive!
I came here on a field trip and the food was great. The people are extremely hard working and nice. Definitely recommended!
A very homey feel, a true family restaurant. A very accommodating and friendly staff. The best french fries in town
Too expensive for the amount of food you get. However, my custom order was made correctly (always a plus) and the food did taste very good. 4/5 stars for this visit.
The food was amazing and tasted very fresh. Love that its a family owned restaurant. It has the convenience of a counter service but the quality and service of a table service, with daily specials too. Highly recommend it!
Very pleased with the place, the owners are very accommodating. The menu is good and done well. We are from out of state and they took time to visit with us, and make menu recommendations
Good gyros. Havent been here in years. Glad I found them again
Great place, nice Family run business. The food is good and plentiful.
Very friendly! Great food, not bad prices. We ordered spinach chees pie appetizers, 2 gyros, 2 drinks, large Greek fries all for 28.00.
The best restaurant in all of Tippecanoe County run by an amazing family!
Family-owned Greek restaurant, with reasonable prices, along with Acropolis, in Lafayette. The gyros are excellent, loaded with lamb and tzatziki sauce, made with fresh greek yogurt. This is a must-visit restaurant, with casual dining and excellent food.
Great atmosphere! Amazing customer service! Wish it wasnt priced so high though... Or atleast add more product.
Surprisingly good quality in unassuming surroundings. Gyro is made in house so not too salty like most processed versions. Even the salad was presented well. Eat here.
Everything was delicious. From the lentil soup to the kebabs everything tasted like it was freshly prepared and cooked perfectly. I hope the word gets out and this place stays open for a long time.
Great food, good prices from a long time family owned restaurant. The owner took extra care to get us an umbrella out to shade an outside table when I asked for a bowl of water for my dog while we ate at the outdoor seating area.
Excellent food. Service could use a smile but the food is so good it matters less
The food is very good, and fresh. The pitas are delicious. This is a family run business that has been around a long time. The food is a bit expensive, but worth it.
Fantastic restaurant serving really great Greek food. The platters are amazing, and the Greek salad is exactly what youd hope for. Cant recommend checking this place out enough.
Was expecting more from this restaurant. It is definitely overrated. The salad had large chucks of core in it, and the feta was not even broken up. I was not a fan of the frothy consistency of the tzatziki sauce. Restaurant was clean and service was decent.
